I believe this is huge news, especially if the GCam devs could get it to work on devices like Huawei P40 series!!
My P40 Pro is currently being repaired (bricked) so can't really test this private BSG GCam build at the moment.

I should get my P40 Pro back in a couple days, so I will be testing this soon!! Of course I cannot share the private build, since it's for donators only and I don't want to be banned from the group and being able to test future builds...
No promises on what works and what doesn't, though. In fact I don't even know if the GCam app will launch correctly, but fingers crossed!
Also, of course if anyone has already tested it, I would appreciate some comments saying if the app even works or not. Thanks.

This might be a really good news, if they will get it to work
Please test it and update us as soon as you get your device repaired

Hi guys. Got my P40 Pro back from repair today.
So I tested the most recent private builds from BSG, and unfortunately the app crashes immediately. I think the BSG devs are still working on a version that will be compatible with some Huawei phones. No idea if the P40 Pro will be one of them. We just have to be patient, and we'll see.

Please keep us up to date

Last I heard, the Kirin version is still planned. Unfortunately no idea how much longer it will take, and on what Huawei phones it will work.

No unfortunately he failed
He told me he has no progress at all

It will never work until Huawei implement Camera2api, which they're not interested in doing.

No future updates?

Anyone know if Huawei has officially stopped updating the Honor 8? Firmware Finder hasn't had anything new on it since December which seems longer than usual.

I think it's the end... :crying: 2 years of updates, 2 main android version updates done...
EDIT: NOT THE END!! Chinese models got February 2019 Google Security update! Nice surprise!
Sad to hear - it's really annoying you cannot expand the notifications on the lockscreen...
Are any of the ROMs people have ported ready for prime time? Calls/SMS/WiFi/Bluetooth/.Fingerprint reader/...IR blaster all working?
It's kind of a bummer to need to get a new phone for software/security updates when the hardware is still really nice (outside of 3D games which aren't important to me on my phone).
I never even got December 2018. Latest I got was April 2018

Everything works, but the Pie version of OmniROM has some lag in animations.

Well, if animations is the problem (I haven't find any lag) you can simply disable them on dev options
Just a quick update. Honor release 8.0.0.540 for Chinese version 3 days ago... I hope we will receive it soon on our versions

Of course they did. I'm on Android 9 (Omni Pie from Openkirin Team), but you can go on the safe road and install an Android 8.1 rom that comes with less bugs (as OmniPie is actually in Beta stage). However every OpenKirin rom is surprisingly smooth, fast and very functional. You will have working camera (EMUI camera), wifi, ril, bluetooth, gps, fingerprint (10/10 works very good) and so on. Plus you'll have all the benefits from the customuzation options merged in the roms (or you can do on your own that). My advice is to try. Even with some little bugs you will not regret EMUI stock. BTW i'm on 5 February Security Patches on Pie

I'm still looking for clarification regarding this as some people still claim that aptx works, look here,
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80233082&postcount=362
This is on the 9.1 update.
Has it been officially stated that the aptX has been removed?
Huawei Mate 20 X (EVR-L29) - 9.1.0.320 (C432E3R2P1) ...........aptx YES

Won't let me sign up, despite owning the chinese model. I think that perhaps I have never been able to complete a full real name authentication on account (it needs a Chinese ID card), that I am unable to access this option.
That's my theory.
I mean, I actually want to assist with BETA, but just can't

General [Dev] Need testers for Energy Ring

Hey Guys! Developer of Energy Ring here!
Look forward to add support for OnePlus 9/9R (support for 9 Pro is already added)! However, I do not own the device to calibrate Energy Ring for the said devices. Any volunteer tester would be appreciated.
Ideal Tester:
#1 Have sufficient free time, say at least 30 minutes.
#2 Have a hell lot of patience, the calibration takes some time, might be frustrated in adjusting the sliders by pixels.
#3 Have another phone/camera to take a physical photo (not screenshot) of your phone.
If you meet the above requirements, please share me your Telegram/Skype ID.
Cheers!
I'm available to test! I have the Pro (T-Mobile) version though. Installed Energy Ring and was sad to have the pop-up say "device not supported". Also have the 9 (non-Pro) as well. You can PM me if you'd like.
Trying it now, everything seems to work on Global Version 9 Pro.
Works fine on OP9 global

Still in need of testers? I have t-mobile variant.

Question Game Turbo Port for AOSP

Hi guys.
Today I flashed ArrowOs on my Poco X3 Pro, i'm very happy because I had notice lots of good changes in this ROM.
But there's something about i would like to talk, and it is about Game Turbo. As I think, Game Turbo is amazing not for the "optimizing", but for the chance to have a 2nd app floating on the screen, idk if you agree with me, but i think it could be a very nice idea to have a port for AOSP ROM's.
Sameway, if maybe you know about something similar to this functionality for AOSP or ArrowOs, let me know, because i'm very interested in a project like that.
Thanks you very much, and sorry if my english is not as good as i'd like it to be, it's not my principal languaje.
