Orbit2 - the on/off button at the top is non responsive . It means when my backlight turns off I have to reset the device to use it again. I have disabled the backlight timeout for now,but it is an extra drain on the battery and im worried if the device turns off I will not be able to turn it on again. Any solutions ?
Is this an problem anymore?
Got the same now, an opened the device.
The button is mountet at 4 points, at mine 2 are brocken => no contact, no function...
After being quoted 100quid to fix it, I changed the settings so any button will take the device out of sleep mode. It is not fixed but this way works ok .

I have the same problem but can't find the setting that will allow me to un-sleep my phone with any button.
I use rom: 3LIT3_VIII_Full NLD
I think that these setting has been disabled in the rom.
Is there a register setting?
thanks
I do not know anything about roms.
You can turn off sleep mode in the battery saver I think. But means your battery gets used more quickly . The other way I tried was in the settings where any button will turn off sleep mode. This way was better.
Same problem! Although me being the idiot that I am have just dropped the battery and have no way of turning it back on. Any ideas?? Anyone?
Just plug your charger in press the camera and reset then you should get the spl screen then press the reset to boot into windows. This will only work if you are getting power ie from your charger or usb.

Is your phone led lighting up when plugged in ? If not could be usb not working,if it is could be your camera button knackered to so can't get to the spl screen.
Then plug your phone in then do a hard reset except dont press the send button then you should boot into windows without loosing any data.
when stamina mode is activated and lock the screen,, it can't turn back on after pressing the power button.. just a blank black screen.. it must be connected to the charging to make it work like normal.. any solution??

Same problem on my Xperia ZR... only way to solve it for now is to plugin an USB charger or to disable STAMINA mode.
It could have something to do with interoperability between STAMINA and some other apps who try to take over some
system functions of the phone.
So I noticed when I went to go use one of my apps that uses GPS the other day it said the phone had to come out of power saving mode to turn on the GPS, so I did that. Now I can't seem to find where to enable and disable Power Saving. I am not talking about the Extreme Power Saving feature that we don't have yet, just the normal power saving feature.
Can we toggle it without being rooted?

What you saw was not the same power saving mode. It is a power saving feature built into our phones for GPS. Go to Google Settings, Location, and where it says Mode, that is where the change is. I currently have mine at battery saving unless I need step by step directions.
Did you have the power save tweak and then took the OTA? If so, it's still running but you can't access it until you do the tweak again.
Had the same thing.

Has anyone else notice that their M8 is noticeably less responsive when the battery gets low (usually under 15%)? I am aware that the Verizon model does not have the extreme power saving mode feature; however, I noticed something funny. When the battery is low and I go into developer options to turn on high performance mode, it lets me know that I cannot due to power saver being on (see screenshot). When the phone's battery is not low, I do not see this message and I can enable high performance mode. My guess is that the phone is entering some sort of power saving mode automatically when the battery gets low because I notice that it lasts quite long on low battery and is less snappy.
Fast start to finish here. But I'm running custom so.

Can anyone else on stock replicate this issue or did I just get a defective M8? Thanks!

It honestly sounds like power saving mode is kicking in. Which does at 15% on stock if power saving mode is enabled ( not extreme power saving mode just the standard one)
If something weird is going on and it is not providing you with a notification that it is what's happening, next time it happens look at /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/scaling_max_freq if it's at 2265600 then it's not in power saving mode, however if it's at 1190400 then power saver is on. Other signs of power saving mode would "normally" be
Display brightness reduced
Cpu reduced speeds
Vibration feedback turned off
*data connection put to sleep when screen off
Edit:
Turned my power saving mode on and I also can not turn on high performance mode. So I bet that is EXACTLY what's going on.
last edit,
if you have root you can launch the power saving settings ( even tho the option is not there under the power sub menu vzw left all the code in)
to do this from terminal emulator at # am start -a android.intent.action.MAIN -n com.htc.htcpowermanager/com.htc.htcpowermanager.powersaver.PowerSaverActivity
this will launch the settings for power saving mode, and from here you can see if it is set to on, if so just turn it back off.

Thanks for the reply, I agree with you on that one, I'm pretty sure power saving mode is being turned on somehow. I'm not rooted and on stock, so I don't have a toggle for power saver mode. Any idea how it could have turned itself on? Aside from rooting, is there anything short of a factory reset that I can do to get rid of it?

Well I would first ask if any of the things I said happen when you phone goes below 15% such as
Display brightness reduced
Cpu reduced speeds
Vibration feedback turned off
*data connection put to sleep when screen off
Some of these you can check without root. Like the screen gets dim or the vibration turns off. If so then let me know.
Theoretically a factory reset would clear it. However you could try to clear data from the settings app.

+1 on Power Save coming on.....I am on Viper so I see it is turned on at 15% with the quick settings, so I tap it to turn it off (which I know there isn't a stock equivalent)....but when it is on...the phone slows like a turd.
My power button on my Honor 8 has stopped working, likely due to water. I've downloaded an app which allows me to open my phone with my volume button however i'm afraid that if my phone ever shuts down (such as running out of battery for example) then I won't have the ability to turn it on again.
How can I work around this?
Thank you!

Setup scheduled power on/off on your phone...so, in your case, just scheduled power on every day..
