TWRP 0mb Storage - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Is there a way to fix 0mb Internal storage in twrp to flash from there magisk? My usb port doesn't work so everything I can do is from the device by itself.
I tried wipe, and data format repair file system ange change file system ext2 and back to ext4. It temporarily says the storage size and when rebooting into system then is again to 0mb. Anybody can help?

Try reinstalling TWRP, if that doesn't work maybe using a different recovery such as orangefox or shrp

Is it possible reinstalling recovery without usb cable and with existing problem?

yeah, if you get the "recovery.img", flash as an ".img; image", flash it to the recovery partition. try shrp first, dont use orangefox since it caused problems with me.

Could you send me a guide or a link to download img file and tell me how to flash it

The problem is that after installed rom, i have to install magisk ,su and etc. I cannot use "su" command. My problem is how to flash magisk
Edit: I have image file of shrp.Where to place it and how to flash it? The problem is that i cant find from recovery this file because of 0mb internal storage

Forgot to ask but, did you encrypt internal storage? There are a couple of forums documenting that encryption causes the TWRP 0mb problem.
Try this:
TWRP Internal Storage(0 MB)
I am trying to root my Samsung A7(2017). I have installed twrp to my phone but when I open it to install SuperSU it writes Internal Storage(0 MB) therefore I can not access to SuperSU. I am searching
android.stackexchange.com
Read more about it here:

All partitions is mounted.

How do you backup with TWRP given the issues caused by dm-verity?

I have a J710DM/DS. I flashed the latest version of TWRP (TWRP for j7xelte - 3.0.2.1) with no problems.
But when I try to do a backup (to the external SD card), I get the expected "failed to mount /data" errors that result from dm-verity.
TWRP's website talks about this and mentions that some versions have a "System Image" option, but I don't see it on my phone.
So how do I properly do a backup?
This is nothing to do with dm-verity, it's encryption.
Format DATA to remove encryption and then install the boot patch.
My builds of TWRP have image backup, but not sure if I've compiled a j710 version.

Thanks for the information.
What boot patch?
Edit:
Also, what's the recommended way to format DATA? If TWRP can't even mount it, can it even format it?

FORMAT *not* WIPE. You don't need to mount to FORMAT.
To disable forced encryption and mount internal storage:
(Note this MUST be flashed after SuperSU if you intend to root)
1. Boot to Twrp
2. Format Data partition using FORMAT DATA button under Wipe options.
(Note: This will wipe the internal storage)
3. Check DATA is mountable.
4. Install SuperSU (if root is required)
5. Install boot image patch below.
6. Reboot

Thank you so much for elaborating!
Quick follow-up: I have already flashed SuperSU previously. Will I need to flash it again after formatting DATA?

You will need to reflash supersu.
Quick, but vital question:
Does flashing "no-verity-no-encrypt_ashyx" mean that I can now safely restore a full system backup?

If you made a backup of an unencrypted data partition then you can restore if /data is mountable.
If you are not restoring /data then it doesn't matter.
Thank you so much for helping me understand all of this. You're the best!

in order to use twrp you should disable encryption in buld..prop or use the zip file
in forum to disable encryption.
but should make factory reset once in twrp to mounting data partition
use the newest twrp version both sd card and internal sd mounting well.

Question TWRP HELP

So I decided to install Xiaomi EU rom to my device, but after wiping data in TWRP it all goes to ****.
Firstly, Windows no longer recognize the internal storage, it's still there, but I can't copy files into it
Second;y, my TWRP internal data is 0mb, but after restoring that and rebooting twrp, the data is 0mb again and it forces to to do it all over again,
Does someone know a way to fix this issue?
I need a reply asap as I really need the phone
If only had done format data, reboot to system to get into MIUI, will take 5~10 minutes, done the initial setup, then the internal storage should be readable.
If still does not work, buy USBOTG or find a microSD card with sufficient storage to flash.

Personally, my TWRP gave me an error when trying to install Miui.eu, that's why from TWRP I installed Orange Fox and I was able to install EU, another thing is that twrp does not show you or mount the data partition since by default it comes in format F2fs, you would have to change the data file format to ext4 and go back to f2fs for twrp to work with that partition, which is also why your PC cannot copy files to internal memory
The published versions of TWRP are betas and it has problems with the format of the data partition since by default the Poco X3 Pro brings the f2fs format for data, so the only thing I can think of is that you have to format if or if data and change the partition format so that twrp recognizes it

so I decided to replace the recovery twice and the phone is properly recognized now
You could use sideload to install rom btw. Otherwise, you could use the official beta orangefox recovery, iirc, it also recreate the partition if you attempt to use some of its feature.

[HELP][SM-J710MN] Device bootloops after installing TWRP 3.2.1 (also the 0 mb internal storage thing)

Please i need help, i have everything to root (the magisk v23 .apk file renamed to .zip, twrp 3.2.1 (latest version), odin 3.14.1, and... thats all lol) but when i flash twrp, i have the 0 mb internal storage thing, and when i reboot to android, my phone bootloops (luckily i have the stock rom in case that happens), but please help!!
sorry for bad english, im just a 12yo that wants to do cool thing with phone :c
all you need to do is change extension of magisk apk to zip and then flash it with twrp and if you have 0mb internal stprage after that then you have to check if your internal storage is mounted.
but i cant mount the data partition, it give me an error

Try clean flashing and check if the magisk zip file is not corrupted.
