Hello,
I have a strange problem with white spot one the screen. It is a small, single spot (as white pixel) appears in one place in portrait mode.
In landscape mode it appears in different location.
It appears spontaneous and disappears after reboot phone (and appears spontaneous after some times).
Oneplus 7 Pro 12GB RAM, Stock ROM 10.0.11
I don't have the right answer, may be its related to malfunctioning pixel. But have you tried a different wallpaper or switch to light mode to see if the problem persists. Good luck

I'm facing the same problem. It seems to be related only to the german ROM, as nobody else here is reporting a similar problem. Here are two work arounds I found so far:
- open a video with windows media player. Somehow this initializes the video driver in a way that the black parts do not occur anymore. However, if you close the app, the black parts occur again. So you have to keep the app in the background
- Set HKLM\System\GWE\PORepaint to 2. If the device is turned on, all windows are redrawn. This removes all black parts. However, this only works if the device has been turned off for a couple of seconds (3 or more)
Hope that helps!
My Nexus has a display problem and i'm trying to troubleshoot what the issue is and I'm wondering if anyone could help as it's not obvious where the issue lies.
What happened is I was using it as normal this morning and then the screen started flickering to different sizes/colours until it finally just went off. It was almost like it is trying to find the correct refresh rate and the colours appeared polarised at one point. After holding power down to reset it, the google logo appeared and then the spinning dots. Once the boot was complete the android logo appeared and then as soon as the main screen was displayed the display cuts off with a white pixelated mist and shuts off. The phone is still running as if I connect via HDMI I can see everything as normal however the phone responds extremely slowly. I can get into recovery however the screen quickly does some strange things, it flips like a mirror and cuts 1/3 of the screen off.
I'm not sure if this is a LCD problem as its a replacement from ebay that I've been using for a few weeks now. I would suspect that before anything else however it's odd the pre boot logos display fine. I've checked and cleaned all connections however it's still doing it. I'm running stock 5.1.1 rooted.
So my T-Mobile Galaxy Note Edge (SM-N915T) running rooted Android 5.1.1 just encountered the infamous green screen seen. The first time, the green screen disappeared after entering sleep mode and waking up, then about 5 minutes later, the green screen stayed, even after a full reboot (even the Samsung bootup animation, download mode, and TWRP were tinted, so I think we can rule out software issue). The phone was still navigable and usable, just with a serious heavy green tint, curiously, the phone would change between the heavy green tint and a grey tint, and the tint would stay on the upper 30% of the phone and turn grey as it entered sleep mode, almost as if the phone was trying to correct the display or something was barely making contact inside the phone.
Then the green tint got more intense, I could make out the basic background, the fingerprint scanner let me past the lockscreen, and the S-Pen sounds would still play when the S-Pen was removed, inserted, and when the screen was touched. Additionally, my PC does not pick up the Note Edge, yes I have the Windows drivers installed, USB debugging enabled, and MTP + ADB enabled via the secret menu in the dialer. Also OTG is down, my mouse and keyboard are receiving power, but no longer recognized.
Now, after another reboot, the phone is stuck in a bootloop, with the Samsung and T-Mobile sounds playing over and over again, there is a green tint when the Samsung logo should be playing, but a dark screen (as in, AMOLED off) when the T-Mobile animation should be playing.
The phone can't even properly boot into download or recovery mode anymore.
The phone wasn't exposed to heat or pressure, it was just charging off an ASUS power brick and a LG microUSB cable (and was relatively cool, not hot).
The phone was bought second hand, KNOX is tripped, and well past the warranty period.
So my questions for everyone here:
-Any idea what the problem is? GPU failure? Bad solder? Short circuit? Screen failure?
-Any hope? I heard someone else was able to get rid of the green screen after freezing the phone, but at the same time, I don't want to risk condensation inside the phone if I don't have to, and if it was melted solder from some sort of charging issue, heating the phone would probably be a better solution.
While I do have backup phones and and a backup of all my files in case something like this happened, I'm going to miss the curved edge and the S-Pen, and I don't want to take the phone to a 3rd party repair shop, considering you can buy an used functional Note Edge for less than the price of a replacement display, besides, the new Note 7 looks nice.
Anything that hasn't been mentioned above would be helpful... Thanks
UPDATE:
Now the screen doesn't turn on anymore, it flashes green when turned on, but remains dead. The T-Mobile sound still plays, and the motor rumbles for a second, but the fingerprint scanner and S-Pen rumbles and sounds are no longer responsive notification light pulses between white and blue.
Attempting to boot into download or recovery mode yields 2 seconds of green screen, then the T-Mobile boot up sound.
UPDATE 2:
Phone boots properly now judging by the fingerprint scanner responding and S-Pen sound, touch screen also seems to be functional based on S-pen cancel sound, but screen is now completely black, is it safe to assume a screen failure/damage?
Greetings.
I've recently been struggling with a problem with my Galaxy S6 and I've searched far and wide on the interwebs for a solution, with no avail.
You see, whenever I turn my phone on, or wake it up from the lock screen, the screen flickers one or two times, but doesn't always turn on.
They keys are active, touchscreen is active, but no image.
Sometimes I have to try and unlock my screen two or three times to get an image, sometimes it turns on after the first flicker.
An example of what I am experiencing is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyiDgpUSkaE
[edit] Another example is this: when switching the display brightness, the screen goes to crap and starts flickering like crazy, and at minimum brightness text goes unreadable and small (video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIMFaCy_KVY
I am not rooted, everything is stock FW, I had android 6 stock and recently upgraded to 7 stock OTA and the same issue persists.
I cannot access download mode or recovery because the screen won't turn on. Only time it turns on is when Android is booted. Even when booting, the blue led flashes because the device is booting but I have no image.
Please contribute with some ideas, I cannot wipe cache from recovery because I can't see anything even if I try to boot recovery (or download).
Thank you in advance!
Did you resolve this issue? If so, how? Mine started to do the same after a short fall. My initial thought was hardware but I can get into recovery and the screen functions just fine there.
Hello everyone there, I've bought a used OnePlus 7 pro a few days ago. But I'm having an issue with it.
Whenever I turn brightness to full, screen starts becoming small and big and small and big. I've tried turning adaptive brightness on and off, removing the screen protector, and rebooting into safe mode but nothing works.
I wanna know if the problem is with software or my phone's screen is damaged?
Here is the video.
Try to reset your device and check , maybe it will work
Have you found a solution? I have the same problem only worse the screen colors are pixeled and brightens and shuts off on its own. I turned off 90hz same problem ,phone is unusable.
I see that "cast to xxx" is enabled...your phone screen could be changing resolution/aspect ratio to match what it is trying to "cast" to...try turning that off...worth a shot.
