Anyone have latency? I just got them today and sat down tonight to play with them. I was using tiktok and the delay is pretty noticable. Youtube seems fine. I have a Oneplus 8 5g. I seen people saying to turn on game mode but I don't have that option. I'm guessing it just for samsung devices. Suggestions? My OnePlus is through tmobile.
The Buds+ sound best using Samsung's propiatory SSC codec. Unfortunately it's only found on newer Samsung phones.
Latency isn't an issue for me but my expectations aren't that high...

I'd there a way to get that codec
If there is a way no one's talking about it.
The audio chipset must first be able to support it.
Samsung Scalable Codec
Hi everyone, I have a quick question regrading Samsung's Scalable Codec. I have a pair of their Galaxy Buds, which are great but sadly don't support aptX, instead they support AAC, SBC and Samsung's Scalable Codec. I realize it's proprietary to...

If you dig around you might find something but I haven't been able to.
If you own a Samsung it's a bt benny. Sammy's usually also support LDAC.
Sammy just pushed out their latest firmware revision for the Buds+ 2 days ago. A noticeable improvement at least for SSC; haven't sampled SBC much on it.
With my 10+ they link up seamlessly and fast. Great for calls.
A used Note 10+ 512 gb, ram 12g, 4G (preferable over the 5G) with Pie is going for around $600 at B&H Photo in good condition. Not too shabby.
In my opinion that was Samsung's last great Note flagship and Pie was Android's last great OS.

Great news about the B&O headphones. Previous reports said the US models wouldn't have the B&O tuning or the headphones. Hopefully we are getting the tuning and headphones both...
So now, you all just have to ask yourselves one question, in the realm of premium range phones, is this worth $800+? Setting aside the title of the article, at this point you need to ask yourselves what you want in a premium device and if it's worth it to you. For me, I prefer LG's software to Samsung's any day, and the refinements made to the hardware between v10 and v20 have really won me over. As far as the Pixel, I think that phone is a mid range device at best, and no one should pay that ridiculous price. Add to that the fact that T-mo offers me this phone as an upgrade, with an eip I don't have to get outside financing for, and I'm in as far as the V20 goes. The question is, are you?

Considering I think this phone is better than the more expensive iPhone 7+ and Galaxy Note 7, yes I do. I don't know why people would ever expect it to be cheaper than those aforementioned phones because it has incredible specs and features. It's elite in the phone world.

You're kidding yourself dude. This phone is not exactly better - care to elaborate?
It will have lighter software and thus run faster than the Note7, but NOT the iPhone 7 - this is not better.
It will have the worst display since the iPhone 7 is color accurate and brighter, and the Note7 is OLED with great accuracy levels dependent on chosen saturation setting, brightness, and perfect contrast - this is not better.
It will have the best audio.
It will have the best manual photo and video control.
It MAY have the best recording capability - I listened to a recording of a small concert in a public park, and a Note7 actually captured much clearer audio?... perhaps a software issue which remains to be fixed, but the V20 should theoretically provide better capability with its high AOP mics.
It MAY have the better facets to its camera - this needs a lot of testing. It may only be better in certain situations. It certainly won't beat both phones all the time.
It certainly won't have the best battery life - sure it has a swappable battery, but no water resistance either.
If LG charges $800+ they're going to fail. I don't want those ****ty in the box IEMs - I have $1,000 Shures - so that is not any justification for price.

Audio, video, IR blaster, removable battery, expandable storage, wide angle camera, OIS, EIS, Nougat, faster software than Note 7, shock resistant (much more important to me than water resistant), and the screen is fine. People freaking out over the display I think are crazy. Unless you're doing an A/B comparison, it's going to look fantastic. It's freaking Quad HD. The things I look for most in a phone are all here and are not in ANY other phone right now. For me, this is by far the best phone of 2016. And it should be priced accordingly.

Just my 2 cents i just came home from att and pre ordered.. I myself was worried about the screen but i played with it and it was great yes its not Samsung but i loved it.. Im on the nexus 6p and the lg screen looked better than my 6p..but thats just my experience..

I have a pair of their Galaxy Buds, which are great but sadly don't support aptX, instead they support AAC, SBC and Samsung's Scalable Codec. I realize it's proprietary to Samsung devices, but was curious if it would be possible to port it over to Oxygen OS (perhaps through the use of Magisk)?
Thanks,
David
Even I need Samsung Scalable Codec for my OnePlus 6
Yeah... Even I wanted the SSC Codec ported to OnePlus because I heard that The galaxy buds sound way better with them.... Is there anyway we could replicate the codec or anything to attain the same quality? Even that would work for me.
wondering the same...could benefit anybody on android if this was a installable apk or flashable through TWRP.
Off topic mayby... What about implementing upgraded ALSA in kernel. Someone try to do that? I think all dev just take from git repo stuff like that (Lineage probably ).
Samsung is really voodoo spell witchy about their codecs.
Apparently there was UHQ bt a few years back too.
Galaxy Buds don't appear to support it.
They don't support AptX-HD either.
Sammy wants you to buy their stuff... but without Scalable codec the sound of the Buds is noticable degraded.
BT audio is a mess.
Perhaps I'm mistaken (per what others commented) about the UHQ bt*. Samsung is less than concise about it.

*Samsung is known to release half baked products... this may be one that dead ended out.
I was always a huge proponent of LG's DACs. The ESS Sabre DAC gives manufacturers a lot of range when it comes to distinct sound signatures. I was always big on the Galaxy Notes up until my 7 was damn near ripped from my hands. lol. I remember the last time Samsung really focused on sound quality was (I believe) the Note 4 when they used a tuned Wolfson DAC.
With that said, USB-C audio is pretty new to me and I'm learning as I go. I bought two dongle DACs for my two cars. Sonata's HIDIZS for the Acura and the SpectraX (which uses a newer version of LG's ESS Sabre) for the Honda (aftermarket system). For around the house I use the packaged AKGs which seem to do a good enough job. On occasion I steal the HIDIZS dongle from the car and use my 1More Quad Drivers.
I recently subscribed to Amazon's new HD music service which I read can reach a ridiculous bit range (32bit @ UltraHD setting). So here comes my question considering the hardware I use;
Lets say you have a phone that is capable of X-output... does/can the dongle DAC supersede the capability of the phone? For instance, my HIDIZS dongle DAC is capable of 24bit/192KHz and respectively, the SpectraX is capable of 32bit/384KHz. If my source file (music) is compressed at that level, will the dongle DAC actually decode at that level, regarless of the phone's capability? Or is the phone a bottleneck?
With that said... do we have any information on the capabilities of the Note10?

If your dongle does work then its outputting at it whatever resolution it says on screen. there is no analog signal thru the usb c only digital. The conversion takes place at the dac, so whatever your dac's capabilities are, that is the max you can go. For what its worth, the audio is **** on the note 10's included akg's compared to the lg v40 or even the s9+ with the 3.5mm variant of the same akg's .the note 10's speakers are really good though. Do you use usb audio player pro? Its pretty good for hi res audio .though i don't think it supports prime music yet.

Thanks for the clarification. I haven't used the USB audio player yet. I'm really enjoying Amazon Music HD. Some of the remastered u
UHD songs are good but some of the more recent UHD content like Chainsmokers' albums sound phenomenal. I'll check out the audio player to see how it works.
Hey guys. I'm wondering if anybody on T-Mobile can call and receive calls on SA 5G, therefore conducting a VoNR call.
Next, this is pretty iffy. This phone, unlike the OnePlus 8T series, are not shown to support aptx Adaptive (not to be confused with Aptx or Aptx HD, seriously) , which is huge for me because as we all know the headphone jack is aging and if I'm gonna get on board with bluetooth audio I need a device and headphones with as little latency as possible. However, the OnePlus 9 has Snapdragon 888 and is capable of FastConnect, which seems to lower latency as well as aptx Adaptive can, so long as it's paired with headphones with either a qcc3044 or qcc3056 chip in it. Can anyone show if the sort works/if you can achieve low latency in headphones with FastPair on op9?
If not, if anyone who has paired the op9 with the Buds Pro proves that the LHDC codec lowers latency significantly as well?
I'm looking to trade in my Nord N10 for this phone, and I need to know this info before doing so. So your responses would be really appreciated. Thanks
ye
Depends. I bought the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5g and I love it. In this price range no other phone can beat the sheer balance of performance, battery life and camera quality (with gcam ofc) that this device provides. All of that with a headphone jack and sdcard slot(hybrid but whatever). Most people complaining about gimmicky stuff like 4k and being able to play genshin impact at 60fps. If you are looking for a practical device that will serve you well in all areas this is the device to go for. If you want anything else, like a camera phone or a gaming phone look elsewhere.
Edit: I am fortunate to have a proper device but a handful of people seem to have gotten defective units. I don't know how many of them are Redmi and how many poco however.
Pros:
120hz amoled screen
5000mah battery with VERY fast charge
SOT is great
dolby Atmos dual stereo speakers
Rootable/magisk and has MIUiI EU support
SD card or dual SIM
Aux port
Cons:
No 4k camera? Couldn't care less for videos.
I honestly have none.
I'm very happy with my device. Takes good enough pictures (people complaining about 4k = lol. When's the last time you viewed your 4k videos on a 4k capable screen?)
Sound quality is good, speakers are loud enough. WiFi, BT, GPS and data all work great. I've got no complaints and it ticks all my boxes
I don't like it, screen is not good, easy to scratch. A lot of times I type wrong the keyboard keys, so seems like quality of the screen is way worse than my old Xiaomi 9SE. Rom is full of bloatware, hopefully someone will develop Lineage OS based ROMs. Some freezes, probably because I've tweaked the rom.
My biggest complaint is the processor
Since it's built on old architecture it doesn't support stuff like 4k recording, heck the phone is limited to 1080 30 fps by Xiaomi
with Gcam u can record at 1080p 60 fps but after some testing it seems that's it's actually 1080p 45 fps
also camera is probably worser than any other device in this price range (unless that device too is a snapdragon 695 one)
and performance is really bad like for daily usage it's fine but you cannot game on it for hell
screen is half decent but you can probably see like the 5 threads of screen issues
backlight bleeding is very noticable and screen flickering on 120hz mode
battery backup is crazy good though
and you can expect just about no 3rd party development since Mi Code
The GitHub account which used to release kernel source codes for Miui devices has been dead since Late 2021
also this is the guy who used to work on the Mi Code account
I would be so happy if they named the device something like X4, meme4, joke4, xd4 etc
they have disgraced the legendary X3 pro which took the entire smartphone industry by surprise because of its flagship tier processor and camera

I disagree with a lot of these statements. The performance of this device is very close to flagship levels as most of not all android games with high graphics can easily be played maxed out on this device. The games I've had issues with were either unoptimized or limited by kernel trying to maintain temps. The display is crazy good and makes the device an absolute pleasure to use. All this combined with the pretty much all day battery life, like I get 18hrs easy with 120Hz on, some gaming and some social media and photo taking. Not to mention you get a headphone jack and sd card slot. Now brutal here comes from the Poco x3 which was, like the poco f1 a one of a kind device that will never fit into a regular release schedule. I come from Redmi Note 5 Pro. I'm also using the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ not poco version. I've had no issues in the display side of things. Camera at least on the Indian variant is garbage. Global is fine and gcam works very well despite not having an official build for the device. As for kernel sources I say wait at least a year because I have seen sources come out very late and at least the note line is popular enough that xiaomi would have to drop sources. They know why people but their devices. And development does exist in a very limited capacity. We have a few 3 or 4 roms atm. Oh right the dolby atmos support ootb works wonders for both earphone listening and with the dual stereo speakers. Boy they sound good. Also the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ mirage Blue is one sexy looking device.
Now to the bad stuff. First of the display supports hdr but soc does not. That's fine as I don't really have any hdr content to watch. Even the no 1080p60 video is fine since I don't record much video. BUT NO SUPPORT FOR ANY VIDEO THAT'S 1080P+ IS JUST STUPID. My old whyred could play hi res video without any issue yet this one can't. Official xiaomi apps will simply tell you it's unsupported while mx player resorts to software decoding which is somehow slow as hell.
Overall it's a good device for the price as no other device can boast the number of features, performance, battery life and headphone and sdcard support at this price range. Trust me I checked.
If you are looking for a very well rounded device then definitely go for it. Here was my thought process when I bought my device. I wanted a phone that could click good photos and game well and I had planned to get the Redmi Note 10 Pro but then I compared specs and this device specwise is an upgrade in terms of the display and soc performance. Sd695 is far more powerful than the 732g. And both devices have the exact same camera sensor. So I got this one.
Go for Poco F4. The kernel should be the same as F3, so expect the same development as F3 as more people gets their hands on it. Anything missing is audio jack, bigger battery, and dedicated micro sd slot.

I'll admit this isn't the right place to post a review but I am tired of people telling others not to get this phone. Depending on the region this might be the best option for you. If you want headphone jack and sdcard slot it is the only option.
