I know that it may be a hardware fault.
I made this thread, to see if other people face the same problem after the pie update.
The phone is unrooted (my wife uses it) and after the stable pie update, the fingerprint in settings is gone, also it does not respond to touches at all.
I flashed the latest beta 9.5.9 without rooting it and it still the same problem.
I read in various threads that many people having this issue, but I haven't found anything specific for this phone.
Any feedback will be welcomed.
I have the same problem, please can anyone tell us how can we fix this??
Try 10.3.3.0
I have this problem too for almost 2 months.
I have tried beta builds, MIUI 9, stable and others ROM's like Pixel Experience but nothing works.
I have been investigating a lot, not only with phones from Xiaomi, I tried with LG, Samsung, etc and I couldn't find a solution, but looking for one I discovered that the option to change the region was missing too, in MIUI 9, 10, and others ROM, from setting and from initial configuration, I can't change my region and I started thinking that the problem is about the cust partition, this partiton is a copy of apps ,and language packs that get installed as per region on first boot or when user changes its region (country) (I found this in at Xiaomi Official Forum). Maybe after the update somthing didn't work well and "corrupted" that partition.
Any ideas?
I got problem by my Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro (4/64GB). Problem with wifi and TWRP.
I saw on other pages, that On Android Pie, there can be problem with TWRP, but I am unsure if this is the same... Cause I am experiencing two problems, both of them are seriou from my point of view and using this phone.
Wifi doesn't want to start. Actually it was working for some time, about 1 or 2 hours. But after all updates has been done and it doesn't want to start. (it disconnect me automatically). When I want to turn it on it is impossible. I tried to install different version of MIUI, but it didn't help. Before I had installed MIUI Polska 10 and now I got Xiaomi.eu official ROM. Still the same problem. Now I have installed version MIUI global 10.3.3 stable version (PEKMIXM)
Besides I am unable to to anything in TWRP. It was working during instalation, but now I cannot SWIPE I tried different version of it, but none of it works
Don't know, how to solve this problem.
I got installed TWRP in version of TWRP 3.2.3.0, but I have installed almost of version, which I found at different pages, and at all there was the same problem... At bottom TWRP screen I got below some kind of hashes of something. I can see whole screen, but at the bottom I got 1,5cm stripe with different lines.
I don't know, if those 2 problems are connected somehow, but as I wrote above, I tried different versions of TWRP and MIUI and I am still experiencing the smae problems...
Any advice? Or maybe do you want some more output from my phone?
Hello! Everything was working fine a couple of days ago, then I had to reinstall rom because it wouldn't let me type my password.
Did everything as usual when there have been no problems but now it won't show any wifi connections at all.
It shows IP-adress but no Wifi mac-adress.
Tried different versions of twrp for android Q roms, different firmware updates all from 10.3.0 to 10.3.3 but still nothing.
If I go back to stock oxygen the Wifi is fine.
Been using many different android Q roms with magisk but could magisk be a problem in new Q versions?
"UPDATE"
Seems the Wifi problem appears when I update from stock 8.1.0 OTA to 9.0.9.
If anyone has any suggestion I would appreciate it.
Kind regards

I briefly tested Android 12 as well as Android 13 GSIs on my TB-Q706F, with necessary and hopefully up-to-date vendors flashed for the purpose.
While most of the OS functionalities work fine, I noticed there are major issues with touchscreen, as when gaming, from time to time touchscreen would stop responding altogether, disrupting gameplay. I originally noticed this when I started using A12 GSI, but it appears the issue persists with A13 GSI as I have tested recently.
I'm not sure if other users on A12/A13 GSIs are also having the issue. In my case, the issue with touchscreen doesn't appear to manifest in Android 11 GSIs. When I reverted my tablet back to Android 11 GSI, the issue went away and touchscreen is now working fine.
So far I've only tested GSIs, so I don't know whether stock ZUI 14 is also affected like any other A12 GSI. I can't really test too much about this as I need the tablet to be in a usable state, and that touchscreen-related issues are not trivial to capture and inspect.
It's strange that no one else reported this issue. I encountered the same when I recently flashed to the official global Android 12L via Lenovo rescue assistant and encountered intermittent unresponsive touchscreen during gaming also.
Over the course of using this tablet on Android 11 for more than 1 year and I had never encountered such issues.
When I encountered this issue, I just quickly press the power button to put it on standby and wake it up again.

Touch screen works fine with no major issues when using Android 11. It's only when using Android 12 and onwards that the touchscreen would intermittently stop responding.
The problem is, touch-related issues may not be noticeable if not doing any intensive gaming, and are very hard to pinpoint.
I recall Lenovo was aware of some touch-related issues at least according to the official A12L Developer Preview image at some point. Not sure if the issues have been resolved by the time ZUI 14 came out.
Had Lenovo ever released kernel sources for our device (Q706F/Q706Z)? I don't know where one can request kernel sources from them...
EDIT: So turning off the screen then turn it back on would restore the touchscreen functionality? If this works 100%, then logcats during the moment when you turn the screen off, as well as the moment when you turn the screen on, may contain hints.

If you want a clean Android you can try Phh's AOSP GSI. You should be able to find an A11 build there.
