Hi every body I'm sort of a newbee
I have a Samsung galaxy S21 Ultra 512gb mobile phone
I am trying to find out where Netflix store the downloaded films on my mibike?
I researched and the article pointed me to go into my files, internal storage, Android, data, but there are no files there yet, I don't want to root my mobile just yet, I also installed ES file manager too, with no luck. On other phone I've used there are many folders and files in androud/data, but not on this mobile.
Can anybody help

I am having the same issue trying to view files from the device itself, if you connect to a PC all your files are viewable that way.

Hi all,
Loving my Optimus 3D but can't seem to work out how to rename files and folders. I know once you have taken a photo it gives you the option to Rename, but I was wondering how I could go back and rename photos and video files, and folders from before (without connecting to my computer). Anyone know?
Also can you create folders within the phone for content? And can you organize content in the Applications section, e.g. sorting Downloads in order or placing them in different categories.
Any help would be much appreciated
Cheers

To rename files and folders and create folders on your phone you'd have to have an explorer app that allows you to browse your filesystem. I'm not aware of any browser apps that don't require root (ie. Astro or Root Explorer) but then again, I've never had the need for one and always had my phones rooted.
You might wanna be carefull when renaming folders and files though.
I don't think the standard launcher allows changing the contents of the applications drawer.
Thanks for the response, appreciate it. At the risk of sounding like a total noob, what do you mean when you say having your phone rooted? I'm total new to smart phones and always just had an old simple mobile.
Also, is the Optimus 3D like the iPhone in that you need to hack it to install apps downloaded from your PC for free or can you install any apps via PC
get "estrongs file explorer". it's free and does many many many more amazing things than just letting you rename files without root requirement.

Rooting a phone basically gets you super access, kind of like having an administrator account on Windows. It comes in handy for example when you want to use custom roms, get complete file access, use screenshot tools etc.
And an Android phone is in no way an iPhone when it comes to installing apps. There's an option that when turned on allows the installation of apps you didn't get from the Market (it's in the Application section of your options menu). Presuming you only use free programs you downloaded you can just put the .apk file on your internal or external sd card and install it, either by using a file browser (such as the mentioned Estrong) to find the apk or using a separate app installer which you can download from the Market.
Awesome, thanks for the reply really appreciate it, and I actually understand it now.
So if I downloaded and installed an app or game from the internet for free, that usually had to be bought on the Android market or from Gameloft for example, could you get in trouble or banned/blocked in any way?
Sorry if this is a noob/inappropriate question
Cheers
no. google actiually lets you do what you want with your device.
Awesome, good to know. I'm really wanting the Gangstar games from gameloft but they aren't available to purchase via Gameloft yet. I can download the pirated versions and install them, but would Gameloft cause any problems when I did so or would I always have to play in airplane mode?
Most pirated software works just like the original version, just check if there's any installation instructions. The biggest disadvantage in my opinion is not being able to update pirated software through the Market.
You can use Polaris Office included in the phone as file explorer for all the naming, copying etc.. The name is a bit misleading
Nice, I didn't know that Polaris was a glorified file browser. Works great for viewing, editing and removing files and folders.
So, to the topicstarter, this is all you need to do the things you want. You can edit your filesystem and browse to your downloaded apps to install them (for example create a map called DownloadedApps, connect your phone to your pc, copy any downloaded apps to the map you created, disconnect, use Polaris to browse to the DownloadedApps map and click on any app you want to install).
If you want to rename a file or folder just long press on it and you'll be presented with all the options you need.
Yeah, I just had a play around with it, looks and works really good. Thanks for all the help folks much appreciated.
PS - If anyone could provide instructions and a link on how to install the Gangstar games (hereby showing me how to install ripped games at the same time) I would very much appreciate it. Been having no luck getting it to work

File Expert on Google Play just had a major update. New GUI and you can access your files via WiFI and a browser on your PC.Awesome App and its free as well. Really easy to use but a little limited for complex tasks but for general use its really cool.
Powerful File Manager/WIFI File Transfer Web & FTP/App Manager - ALL in ONE
For anyone who meets FC after update, we are now working on this issue, for now reinstalling app will fix the problem. Sorry for that!

ES File Explorer
Good afternoon!
I have entered into a strange predicament regarding my Galaxy S3. Over the weekend, the phone took a nasty fall and the LCD was shattered on the phone, rendering it technically working internally as it will boot up, take battery charge, and allow me to access files via USB. The only problem here is that I cannot see ALL files visible within the phone.
A month or two back, I installed an app called Hide It Pro that hides photos and files of your choosing from general browsing in the phone. The only issue here is that I cannot seem to locate these files anywhere within the visible files of the drive. As such, I was looking at the file size of the the "Phone" as listed under My Computer, which lists the Galaxy's drive as 1.5 gigs in size, but I am only viewing 750 megs of files when I actually browse the phone. I can only assume the firmware and other files are hiding somewhere within the phone and along with them, the files I need.
Is there any way for me to view everything on the phone including the firmware files? You guys are the super pros at this and I know you all might be able to help me out. Any help is appreciated!
-Arcko
Using adb, you can see all the files on the phone, all the way down to the "/" root. If they're hidden, you can see them using
Code:
ls -a
once you're in the directory they're in...I don't know that you can do it visually (windows explorer).
They are located in programdata/android/.fr/

Thanks for tips, guys.
I'll mess around with ADB and some of these other explorers. Hopefully I can find something.
As for the post about them being in Program Data/Android/.fr, there is my problem. I did not have an SD card in the device when I installed the app. So that directory technically does not exist and I cannot find the files. And no one seems to know where I might be able to find the Hide It Pro directory without an SD Card. I'm convinced it hid the files somewhere near the root or at least beyond what is visible when hooking up the phone via USB.

Actually it is the same as internal, thing is tho the .fr folder is hidden and the only way to access it is through a file explorer to see all the data on your internal memory and search for all pictures and then it will find it the directory will look actually like this
Data/Android/Language/.fr

Hi! I'm a newbie in this forum. I need help on my samsung galaxy S2. It have problems and I don't know what to do.
The problems:
-Can't capture screenshot(s) and says storage is full, but there is 3,4 gb unused
-can't capture photo(s) and says storage is full, seems same case with the first one
-can't open samsung/stock gallery app, which also says the same thing
-can't make new folder in samsung/stock file explorer, and says "folder creation failed."
-can't make any new file/ edit files (rename, delete, move only works as copy, and edit file in app like microsoft word)
-mostly the problem is in usb storage.
I wanted to screenshot the problems but I can't. It seems like my usb storage is locked by itself or whatever I don't know because I'm not that good at technology.
Okay, I searched google and gets similiar like mine (problem) but I don't find it solves. And note that I rooted my phone about 6 months. Thank you! Please reply asap because I use my phone for business.
Hello, everyone,
Unfortunately, something "bad" happened to us two days ago.
My wife still has an "old" Samsung Galaxy S7 without root and with the actual standard rom.
Instead of copying the pictures and videos (the first 6 months of our child's life), we moved the data.
Now we have JPEG and movie files on the PC, but they show as 9 GB each (but they only occupy a 4kb block on the disk) - With the HEX editor I could see that except a block of 4KB it contains only 0-byte "info".
Unfortunately a recovery with tools like "Recuva" does not work, because the device is not recognized as a mass storage device (even in USB debug mode).
Other free tools which supposedly recover files on the device without root have not found any data.
Do you have an idea how we can recover the photos and videos?
We switched off the mobile phone for safety reasons, so that nothing is "overwritten" by mistake. Or a TRIM-mechanism for damage to the possibly still existing data fragments so called
My root experience with Android unfortunately dates back to the "KitKat" age and at that time, as far as I remember, the data had to be wiped after the root process.
In general, we are have no Problem, if there is no other possibility to root the device to try out local data recovery tools?
Do you have any ideas how we can somehow recover the really emotionally important data?
Thank you very much for your help!

I'm afraid not.
We have transferred the photos with "move" instead of "copy".
From the perspective of the phone, the files were successfully transferred, even if they arrived corrupted on the Windows system.

Well all that would have been moved is a folder with all the files in. Windows should be able to open jpegs and videos easily. You possibly didn't move the correct folder.
Download Samsung USB drivers for your pc and install them.
Connect phone, wait for Windows to show in folder panel then choose allow data transfer on the phone itself.
You can then explore the various folders on the phone.
Vidoes and pictures are stored in the DCIM folder on the phone or SD card. Sometimes in folder called "Pictures".
It's highly unlikely you've lost those files if all you did was move the folder.
Even move the folder on the pc back to the phone where it came from?

The photos have been transferred from the DCIM folder to a Windows PC.
However, there seem to have been problems during the transfer, as the files in Windows are each over 9GB in size (over 5TB of photos and videos in total) - this can't be right, of course. In the file properties of Windows it is shown that the 9GB file only takes up 4KB of space on the hard disk. Even when i inspect one of those files with an HEX-Viewer i can see, that there is only a 4KB -Data Block at the End of the .jpeg file with no content.
As I said, it looks like the files were somehow badly damaged during transfer. And the phone thinks that the files have been moved successfully and accordingly the files are no longer findable in the Android file system or, as usual when moving, deleted from the source.
Since Windows believes that a file alone is 9GB, we are not able to transfer the file back to the device.
Is there any way to restore the files on the Android device?

Only if you set it to back up with the Google account which stores a copy of all photos video and files.

Sadly no Cloud Backup of the files.
That's why we already tried to recover the files with Recuva (which doesn't work because of the missing USB mass storage mode) and other tools.
In the meantime I have also read that a recovery of data on the mobile phone only works with root access.
