Wondering if LineageOS is in the works?
In the meantime, which of the custom roms is most similar, which also supports microG and magisk?

I see lineage 18.1 on the moto g8 forums. This *may* work on the stylus. The custom rom that I use actually was built for the Moto G8 Power. So I wouldn't be afraid to try it, just have your stock rom to revert to.
As for the most like Lineage, currently available... I've ran the crDroid and the ResurrectionRemix (both Android 10's), and the crDroid is probably the closest to Lineage as you're gonna find. I haven't ran the HavocOS and can't comment. The CRdroid is an amazing Rom, especially if you're looking for performance and efficiency.. buttery smooth too. The RR is just absolutely loaded up with customization options. Its really a beautiful OS on this phone. For what I use my phone for, I've found exactly ZERO bugs or issues with either of them.
Again, the crDroid is probably the closest you'll get to lineage.
Just my two cents. Hope this helps.
Thank you! After doing a lot of experimentation on my old G6 yesterday, I feel more emboldened to experiment a bit on my wife's G8 Stylus (and she can use the G6 in the meantime). So I'll start with LOS and then consider crDroid if necessary. I'll take a TWRP backup first, and there's always Motorola's Rescue and Smart Assistant tool if necessary. Appreciate the guidance!
Hi Forum,
First post here.
I just got this phone with the plan of trying out a google free phone.
Are there any more updates about lineage being available yet for this phone?
Many thanks,
AAN
I think if you stay with stylus, g8 fast, and g8 power you'll be fine. But the stylus and power share cameras I'm not sure about the g8 fast

I don't think this is true. The G Stylus 2020 has a better camera.

Hi there...
I am looking for a rom that can give experience like OxygenOS 4. I mean, OxygenOS launcher, apps etc..
Dont ask me to try all roms because its too hard, lots of roms out there for opo.
Am just askin,g is there any rom out there like what i want?
It's impossible
There are no OxygenOS ROMs out there for the OPO. I don't get what you mean with "too hard". If you like the CyanogenOS stock experience you should try LineageOS 14.1 which is based on Android 7.1.2. And you just need an unlocked bootloader, a recovery and a zip. Nothing hard in this.

I know flashing stuffs since 2012, used 16 phones. Just introduced my self.
Anyway, I am using LineageOS 14.1 from 3 months, its fine.
But I love oxygenos more. Is halogenOS represent OxygenOs features?

No idea, never tried that. I once used the first OxygenOS when it first came out and didn't like it since it didn't have any customization that COS gave me. I love Cyanogen works and will stick with it forever ?

Lineage OS questions before installing
I am looking to install the latest stable Lineage OS, which I believe is 14.1, on my rooted LG G3 D850 running Kitkat.
1) Can I still use and install apps from the play store ?
2) There are a few pre-installed apps from the LG OS that I like, mainly Visual Voicemail and Weather.
Can I somehow use these ?
3) When will Lineage support Android 8 or newer?
4) When a Lineage OS update is available, do I need to go through the complete install process and loose all my data ?
Thanks in advance
Tony
Bump---Anyone, Anyone???
Check out the G3 development forum.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development
Until just recently, I didn't get out of the at&t forums, turns out that there's a lot of stuff going on over there for the d850. I'd known about Fulmics, but it hasn't been updated in about a year.
Hardstyl3r's got a LOT of rom threads. All being actively developed. Firebird also has an actively developed ROMs, crdroid, which I've just started trying out on my wife's old phone. Going to give the Lineage rom a try next.
Head's up though. On the crdroid rom, I'm experiencing an issue with battery drain due to wifi while idle. Hopefully, the problem will be fixed in hardstyl3r's next update which should be coming soon. It's something to do with upstream changes in the Lineage kernel, so I think it affects all Lineage based ROMs.
Good luck.
Lineage 15.1 is stable, by the way. 16 is in testing.
Oh. Your questions:
1. You can use play store.
2. Not sure about using stock apps.
3. 8 is stable. 9 is testing.
4. Pretty sure you can update and keep your data. Dirty flash at worst.
Thanks for the info. Really interesting stuff.
I will pop on over to the G3 development forum you mentioned
Hey guys, i hope it's okay to write the question here.
So basically in a couple of days my 360h period ends and i can finally unlock the bootloader and root the phone.
My problem is, its been a while since i used something else as lineageos, and to make it even harder the note 6 pro has this notch (which seems to be a problem for some roms?)
So my question is quiet simple... which rom should i use for best performance and no notch issues?
should i stay with a MIUI rom and try to debloat the stuff like the "whatsapp cleaner"? (i never used Whatsapp for example), just install lineage os (and hope there is no notch issue) or should i go for a project treble rom, where my biggest issue is: what exactly is the huge difference between the usual roms and a project treble rom?
Each rom (official or not) has pros and cons, and each user has individual taste so....
I tried official and beta from MIUI, official and beta from xiaomi.eu, lineageOS 15, Pixel Experience, Havoc OS v2.1 and SuperiorOS
For now I'm using Bootleggers. I like it, but maybe you won't....

Can u plz suggest me best ROM for battery back up for my note 6 pro(tulip) thanks in advance
I tried AEX, crDroid and RR.
AEX is by far the worst. Display doesn't look good and device is slow.
RR has some issues, specially with the notch, battery and performance. Apps freeze a lot.
crDroid is the best. Great performance, great battery life and good notch compatibility.

according to me eu roms for note 6 pro have the best battery backup, they dont come with all the useless gapps like google play book etc so i suggest give eu roms a try. moreover remember customization and battery backup are inversely proportional.
hit thanks :good:

is CrDroid still the best custom rom for n6p? How about SOT, overall performance,... on CrDroid and other roms? Is it worth to switch from stock miui 10 to any of these custom roms? On miui i've 1-2 days of usage at 6-7h SOT....
At the moment, there are a couple choices in terms of roms. At this point there is not really a "perfect" or amazing rom available for this device just yet. I have been testing the "official" and "unofficial" roms and they are decent but they have a long way to go until I would consider using them on a day to day basis. A lot of them have bugs which is a given, considering how relatively new this device is. It would be great to see official support for roms such as Paranoid Android, Lineage OS and Resurrection Remix. But this will take time like everything. If we look at the recovery side of things, we are still trying to get an official recovery which will be essential. From what I have seen TWRP by ATG Droid is probably the 'closest' recovery we have to something the same stability and features seen from an "official" recovery. Take what I have said with a grain of salt, pretty much all of this is opinionated if you did not get the memo.
Friends, I'm in doubt on which ROM to install .... after a lot of research, I was between Pixel Experience Plus, Havoc 3.4, crDroid 6.5 and LineageOS 17.1. I want stability for daily use and light games, the most demanding is Darkness Rises. If you have any suggestions other than the ROMS I have listed, please suggest it. Sorry if I messed up because I'm using a translator. :cyclops:
P.S.: My Note 6 is 3gb RAM version.

Yes MIUI actually has way more useful features than these "pixel ROMs". Also some has really bad battery life compared to stock.
My note 6 has bugs in ever ROM I have flashed.... Cr Droid, Pixel Plus, Havoc, Lineage.... currently with MIUI 12 20.5.7 who slows chrome, instagram, whatsapp and when I use Uber, the screen blinks and I cant do anything until the driver accepts the race. Ever ROM I wipe Dalvik, data, system, internal... i tried Mystic Kernel but problems continues. I do not wipe sd card, who is formated to internal storage. What I doing wrong?
Take latest lineage. Is fast as hell :fingers-crossed:
There is no such thing as the best rom. Try it all and find the best one for you.
He Guys,
i need a alternative to the Pixelexperience. I wanted to install a custom rom on my OP8t since OxygenOS and Oneplus completely sucks now. But i saw that PixelExperience isn't supported anymore. Which one should i use?
Should be Android 12, Pixel design, 100% functionality. As simple as it is.
Thanks for the help!
Very similar to the pixel experience is the CrDroid ROM if you want you can watch videos on YouTube and go see what I'm talking about!

Try Evo X or nameless if you're already on OOS12. Much easier to install then if you're new to flashing. I use Evo x right now and it uses pixel launcher. Just a lot more bells and whistles. Crdroid isn't bad either though. Just have to flash gapps I believe it you want anything Google
