Does anyone else have an issue on 12.2.4.0 where you cannot use another launcher with the system gestures? It's really frustrating I hate the system launcher and I don't like the navigation bar either and I don't know how to make the full screen gestures work with lawnchair launcher or even nova
If anyone knows any workarounds or fixes can you please let me know
hi
i have same prob with miui 12.2.2 version and none of the gestures apps working.
I have the version 12.5 xiaomi.eu and the gestures with external launchers do not work either. I think it's an Android 11 issue that launchers developers need to fix.
try to use "fluid n.g." app for gestures!
you can try " gesture-control pro" app too.
btw. to work with nova (6/7) you have to set poco as the system launcher!
Please enable poco gestures after installing gesture app.
If poco is not running as the system launcher, you will loose taskmanager function!! (recent app)
Be sure, that developer option "miu optimizing" is set to on!
Otherwise you will get a lot of problem's too.
tip:
it can be helpful to set nova and setup icon to be used at the lower side of home screen. So you will be able to switch fast to nova if it necessary.

Hey, man,
This actually worked! Thank you - for the time being it is a decent solution.
Just note that fluid ng must be kept running in the background - the moment you kill it from Recents, gestires are gone.

Yes, you have to protect it against killing by the system!
1.) Battery optimization for this app set to "off"
2.) Recent task list -> Fluid N.G."locked"
3.) App setup for Fluid N.G. " running in backround "
4.) app energy management " no limits"
5.) Autostart for this app " on"
It's a little bit tricky for xiaomi miui
I would to report this issue exist maybe in all xiaomi miui 12 phones. 139 days ago reported mi 10 in reddit. Now I will report I am using latest Poco F3 and this issue still exist. Seems xiaomi never bothered to fix the issue.

I don't think they will ever fix it because they don't care about 3rd party launchers.

Unfortunately the app I tested I would not recommend it can suddenly stop working I was stucked. Lucky I didn't buy it yet. Xiaomi is we can hope more ppl complains to them. I wish 3rd party apps would have worked.
This is so mad. I had this problem on my Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G after the upgrade to Android 11 and now on my brand new Poco F3 this problem still persists.
That's just their way to force users to use their own launcher...
Okay Xiaomi as you wish ... I will flash a custom rom when they are available for the F3.

Same here. It's so sad that we cannot use our favourite launcher.

**UPDATE** Apparently this Issue got fixed with the
clt-l29 8.1.0.128(C432) update.
Now you can do it just by long press the notification and disable.
I thought I'd share how to Disable "Displaying over other Apps" notification

There is a lot of information about how to Disable "Displaying over other Apps" notification in Android Oreo, but it does not work for Huawei. At least I could not find that option, so think they forgot to implement it in their EMUI
But I figured out a workaround
In this example I use Nova Launcher, but You can also use other launchers with the Activity Shortcut option.
Otherwise You can use Apps like "Activities" "Activity Launcher"
Add widget in Nova Launcher and Choose "Activities Shortcut"
Locate and press "Settings"
Locate and press "App Notifications (.Settings$NotificationAppListActivity)"
(Press= Creates shortcut. Longpress= Goes directly to the setting)
Press the 3dots upper right corner
Choose "Show system processes"
Locate and press "Android System"
From here You can disable the "Displaying over other Apps" notification for each app.
On a side note You can also get the "Show app sorted by size" (another feature I cant seem to find in EMUI)
By finding "Settings"->"Storage use(.Settings$StorageUseActivity)"
EDIT: oups i misread
but i still have that notification for now
My workaround - 100% working

Thanks for posting this work around. Works well, Huawei Mate 9,android 8 EMUI 8.
You're my hero of the day. This worked on my Huawai Mate SE without any issues.
How is this different than the normal settings menu?
What kind of issues does this solve? Can you provide an example?
For example Facebook Messenger overlap of the notification display?
Thanks a lot
I didn't take these many steps. As shown in the first image (notification image), I long pressed and selected settings which took me app settings, opened notification and changed settings.

This was an issue with the clt-l29 8.1.0.120.
Apparently it got fixed with the clt-l29 8.1.0.120 update.

Worked on Huawei P10 B368
Edit: and also B370
This problem still exists even at .156 on the P20 Pro. I use the solution stated in this thread. Both the app and the nova shortcut method works. Thanks for sharing guys.
Thank you @ampfet for your hint!
I created an mini app "OpenAppNotifications " to open that hidden menu directly without install Nova Launcher!
I made it for Honor 8 but I do not believe there are distinctions or problems with other devices

only android 8.0 has this boring
8.1 and higher have already integrated the possibility to easily disable those useless messages directly from the notification bar

Hey, a short question.. If I buy paid version, do I have to buy for every device I own, cause I own too many devices
I wanna buy the PRO version (especially at the 50% off price), but I have no Play Store. Options?
Sent from my SHT-W09 using XDA Labs
I have the Pro version, Is it possible for the app drawer to act like pixel launcher ie; 1swipe gives most frequent apps 2nd/long swipe goes into app drawer?
I have two major issues.
Purchased the pro version for the app lock and gestures features. They both get disabled after some time by themselves (or reset to defaults). When I go back to settings I find app lock turned off and the double tap gesture set on "nothing" while I had it set to lockscreen before.
My biggest problem is how much RAM this launcher occupies (~750MB) which is way too much on my 4GB RAM Pixel 2XL, I have Nova Prime its only 100MB of RAM, that's with using Nova companion and tesla unread.

Nope, only one device is fine. We don't consume the purchases.

1. We will take a look at this, if you have Telegram, please join us in the above link!
2. Thanks to @franciscofranco, we would be working on the amount of RAM that the IAP client uses. We haven't fully implemented it yet but according to him, we are able to cut it down.
Also, it should be comparable to other Pixel-based launchers, as Nova was based on Launcher2 (AFAIK), we are now based on Launcher3, which shows many differences.
Feature request
Currently the lock screen is an either or option. (Unlock with fingerprint or no). Possible to enable both simultaneously? I'd like one swipe action to trigger one and a different swipe action to trigger the other.
How to hide the Google search?

Accessibility allows for the lock to not enforce the pattern. Whereas Device Admin does. It's not possible to bridge both of them.

How about the ability to launch a shortcut? Specifically in this case a Tasker shortcut to launch a task, but the general ability to launch shortcuts could be handy.
Thanks
Feature request: import layout from other launchers. I've been using Nova for so long it would be nice and save a lot of time to be able to import the layout.
@nicholaschum
The google feed is sometimes unreachable. Display has to locked and unlocked and then it is again reachable.
It's very disturbing.
Beside this, the launcher is awesome.
Xperia XZ2, stock Oreo 8.0

**Feature Request**
Can you add more app opening animation??
The first 2 options was dull (Default and KitKat animation)
I want the Pie and more opening animation please ???
Tnx ???
Thank you!
Feature request:
I bought the pro version and love the aesthetics But, please can we add an empty homescreen. My KLWP's don't work without it. Also, pinch in and out gestures.
Bug:
Removing the search bar from the app drawer removes the functionality of app search with home button gesture.
Bug report: On Android Android 9 - every time I create a folder in the app drawer it does not show up even when using the show folders first option. If I created 2 folders it crashes the app and cannot be started again until I clear cash and data.
Bug report/feature request:
On the OnePlus 6T while in Game Mode the launcher gets killed. No matter the game. OnePlus launcher doesn't suffer the same fate. Could this be fixed somehow? Maybe adding an option to keep launcher in memory could help?
Observed these 2 very UNFORTUNATE major disadvantages:
1)

A big degradation. The default camera colors aren't live or properly vivid enough so Saturation mode was very necessary.
Wonder why does Xiomi keeps f**ukcing with very essential settings. Disgusting!!
2)
Previously If we ran the Default camera app and then Gcam in background, shifting back to stock camera never used to freeze it.
Now I have to exit close both the cams and cannot run both simultaneously in the background as only Gcam works properly and stock cam freezes.
Already tried clear data/cache for stock camera its useless.
Now have to search for a compatible GCam for this update. If anyone has link to latest Gcam do share the link or apk.
Also camera video recording lege problem not solved
I have also updated my Redmi Note 7 Pro to MIUI 10.3.7.
But I can easily open 2-3 camera Apps simultaneously, there is no freezing issue.
The only issue I found in this update is heating. The temperature easily goes to 40c and at this temperature, the device is charging at 60mA rate.

Try charging it in the night as temperature during the day in India is pretty high. It might be the cause of overheating.

No probs mate
Hi.
I would like to ask about something annoying that happens in my redmi 5 plus (oreo version).
Ok, so there is the signal icon and next to it there is the network type icon (E,3G,4G).
I'm happy with the network type being always visible, even if mobile data is off, but when wifi is turned on, the network type disappears.
In other words, the wifi signal appears in the same spot where network type icon was.
I have searched so many hours through google to find a solution, but nothing.
I have downloaded Edxposed installer to find modules that could help... I found one module "flat style bar indicators", but for some reason this app makes the signal icon disappear. So, the app is not fully compatible with miui 10 (oreo).
I couldn't find anything else to solve it.
Also, my carrier's name is displayed only on lock screen. Why is that?? I would like to solve that too.
Has anyone any advice to give??
Is it easy to create a module myself?? I study computer programming but I need guidance for this type of things.
Can anyone help me??
Would you like to post a screenshot about the network type icon issue?
On the other hand, is it a defect for your current firmware? Why not to check if there is any update for your system software(Oreo)?
Maybe the defect has been fixed and the issue has disappeared. Good luck to you.

Hi.
I don't think it's a defect. I think it's the miui 10 that has this style by default.
Also other mobiles with android 8 and above don't display the carrier name on the status bar, except on the lockscreen.
I did all the updates, but nothing.

Yesterday I confirmed with a friend about the network type icon on his Xiaomi phone.

His phone model is Xiaomi MI 5s plus with MIUI 11 9.9.26 and Android 8.0.0 Oreo.

Perhaps you need to update your MIUI 10 to MIUI 11 at first in order to work out the issue.
Btw, would you like to support my apps which are available on google play? A 5-star rating is always appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Well... I don't think his phone has miui 11.
If it was 11, his version would be something like 11.x.x.
The latest official update of my phone is miui 10.2.3.0 and it's oreo 8.1.0.
I think there are still many months until they manage to create miui 11 for redmi 5+.
But thank you for your interest.

Well.. I googled it and found that in China they released some beta miui 11 updates and for some reason they put 9.x.x version for some phones.

Have been a great fan of Vivid Navigation Gestures for years, until I switched over to Xiaomi 12S Ultra and realized I couldn't make it work despite disabling all battery optimizations & enabling all permissions. Which gestures app can work properly without it closing by itself after long lock periods, and allow me to disable the navbar?

all of them can do it you just need to know what to change in miui settings.
I use FNG.
* disable miui battery optimization
* enable autostart
* go to apps -> system app settings -> security -> boost speed -> lock apps (enable fng)
* pull down notification shade and switch to toggles, click on the edit icon. drag the fng toggle to your "added toggles"
in the rare case where FNG is shut down you can just pull down the toggles shade disable enable it and you're back in business.

Try FNG instead. I got max 3 restarts a day
3 a day is still a lot. Is there any gestures app that has a no-kill notification service?
In addition, that app was not maintained since 2019

3 is better than 10, I don't know why it happens. If you are rooted you can try making this an admin app. Maybe that will prevent it from restarting
is there any easy way to root the phone without bricking it? Thank you.
This is the solution. Need to stop Miui from closing app.
Swipe up and hold to enter app tabs. Press and hold on FNG, then press the lock icon.
This stops the system from closing.
as shown in screenshots above, locking it doesn't prevent auto-close by system.

I'm using FNG, and mine hasn't closed once since locking for 1 week now.

Oh I forgot to mention I'm on Xiaomi.eu rom.
can I port to eu ROM while maintaining all my apps, configs, settings?
No. It may be a different ROM branch and may have different partition differences as well as system apps being non Chinese versions. You might find it just boot loops if you do.
Just make sure you back everything in Google back up and have it set for auto restore and most settings and apps will get put back on with settings via the Google back up after you configure the Google account once flashed and formatted.

Finally I think I found a way to make FluidNG working without any breaks. Just use tasker and create a task that FluidNG (or your favourite gesture app) starts when you unlock your screen. Second: launch app "go to home screen". That's it. Working for a few days perfectly.
