Does anybody know how to enable E-sim (or get Sim Management Options) in Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 USA Version?
I have SM-F916U1 and as far as I know E-sim has been enabled in international version.
By the way, I originally have SM-F916U (AT&T Model) which I unlocked and then flashed SM-F916U1 firmware on it. So, my box has two IMEIs written over it.
Can someone help?

If it is like the Note 20 and S10 Samsung has to enable it. Which they never did on those devices. It is capable but not enable and no figured out how to do it on those either.

Can I flash ee uk firmware on unlocked snapdragon s8 plus?

I've just bought a galaxy s8 plus on gumtree and just realised it's an American unlocked version. I wanted to flash EE firmware to enable Wi-Fi calling but I'm not sure if it's still possible using Odin as the uk phones have different chipsets.
Can anyone confirm either way?
Thanks in advance.

Snapdragon variant phones don't support the band's here in the UK so I don't think it will work. Vice versa an exynos variant won't work in the US

The phone does work ok here in the UK along with 4g. I don't expect to get. As good coverage though. Are you sure it wouldn't work?

flash exynos rom on snapdragon , great idea if you want a brick. No joke, it won't work for sure. and if you flash the Exynos firmware with odin , including bootloader , it would be an hard brick, won't turn on , no more recovery or download mode, just completely bricked. So just no. and wifi calling is nothing to do with the phone but with your carrier and or your current subscription. if your carrier doesn't support wifi calling you won't have that option, so other firmware or even force to show that option changes nothing as you would have the same carrier .
and of course a csc (firmware depend of the country) works only with the right SIM card , I mean samsung block the phone if you use an American SIM card on a European phone. European phone works only with European SIM card and European carrier

Dude what?
http://m.gsmarena.com/network-bands.php3?sCountry=United+Kingdom
https://www.frequencycheck.com/mode...-sm-g950u1-sm-g950w-samsung-dream#frequencies
Supports all 3 lte bands used by the UK, 800 1800 and 2600.
Supports all 3 GSM bands used by the UK.
Supports all 3 utsm bands used by the UK.
So in other words you were 100% incorrect
All of the high end phones have been quad band in the us for years.
I really hope this guy didn't just blindly listen to you and dump his phone for cheap.

The other person could not be more incorrect your phone works fine in the UK, along with every other high end us phone for the last like 10 years
I hope you still have it and didn't dump it for cheap because someone decided to open their big mouth without actually checking that their gut reaction has any basis in reality.
I don't know if there is full CSC support for the UK carriers, but all u1 phones are direct from Samsung and sim unlocked at the factory so you will be able to pop any uk sim in there and be able to use data/sms/voice etc no problem. What provider do you use? I can check my /system/omc directory and see if it's preinstalled by the standard is CSC package.
It's also quite likely that if not you can install the local CSC package that comes with exynos phones on yours. Not only are the other posters 100% wrong about the SD/exynos phones habing incompatible operating systems*, but even if there was a shred of truth to it the CSC package is mostly config files and images and whatnot anyway, so there little execution going on
*It has nothing to do with exynos or snapdragon they are both arm64 lol. If anything it's because Samsung kneecapped them to make sure it wasn't possible for licensing/snapdragon bootloader security or some other stupid thing.

Hi
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a long and in depth reply.
I did reply to the guys post earlier stating that it the phone works absolutely fine on 4g LTE. I just thought he misunderstood me. Or vise versa. I've not dumped the phone because it works fine. Even if I can't get WiFi calling sorted I will still be keeping it. As long as I can still get updates ota I will be happy..
I bought a note 5 a few months ago not realising it was an AT and T model. That was a pain because it was stuck on lollipop and wouldn't accept any ota updates without an AT AND T sim card.
So I was just a bit wary of that happening again. But with this phone being unlocked I'm sure updates will be just the same as UK phones. (hopefully).
Just for the record my phone is running on E.E. carrier.
I've not checked if it's ever been rooted before.
How would I check?
Would a root checker app do this?
Thanks again
Simon.

Singapore S9+ VoLTE on T-Mobile USA

I'm sorry if this question is answered elsewhere but can someone please tell me if it's possible to enable VoLTE for T-Mobile USA on the exynos DUOS variant of the S9+ from Singapore? If root is required, can someone tell me what steps are required to get there? Currently I have 4G service as reported by speedtest but whenever I place a call all the data goes away.
Not a total noob but almost.
Thanks
Welcome to XDA! T-mobile US VoLTE is not yet working on the Exynos DUOS. We will need someone like TKKG1994 to work his magic like he did for international S8 version. The CSC for Tmobile is built for Snapdragon so it will need to be ported to Exynos variant. Most likely, you will have to root to get there when it becomes available. (Thanks to the awesome devs here...)

thanks for the info! do you know if att VolLTE would work in the US on this phone?
None of the US VoLTE would work until one of the devs figure out a way to integrate it. AT&T requires an AT&T phone to register for VoLTE so your best bet would be to get an AT&T phone. Someone had success on S8 Exynos by providing AT&T an IMEI from AT&T branded phone and then using the Exynos with "US CSC patch" someone had combined. Hit the thanks button if you find the post useful

I don't think that's entirely true. I have a Verizon Pixel 2 and I get VoLTE on AT&T.

I think having a US model will always get you a better chance of VoLTE vs international Exynos model. I do not use AT&T or Verizon so I am not entirely sure but read a few other posts in this matter.
I bought S9+ from Samsung in Singapore. Brought to US, 4G works fine on Tmobile.
At first, I can't get 4G to show up. Upgraded software, still 4G does not show up.
Then I asked someone to send me a text message and I made a quick phone call. 4G showed up after that. I think it needs a synchronization.
Do you have VoLTE though? When you make a phone call does it stay 4G or does it change to H+?
On the Exynos variants you will get 4G data but not at the true data speeds and noVoLTE as I have noticed with my Korean variant. If you have already rooted and got things going you can follow a thread by a fellow international user on XDA who was able to achieve on his Note8.

When I call, I notice it stays 4G. Web surfing also on 4G. I notice it is a bit faster than my older S6.
Note that Singapore S9+ only has 4 bars signal strength, not like US version which has 5 bars. So you might notice it is lower signal strength but the dBm is probably the same. I have no way of measuring so I don't know.
Just FYI everyone, TekHD has forged a CSC flashable that gives all carrier features from Tmobile on international Exynos model. !!!
Link please?

I guess this is it. Looks very promising. Will probably try it out soon. But I hate to loose Samsung pay and secure folder...but then again. How many times do I really use that anyways?
Will going through this TWRP process trip KNOX? If so, is there any way to make Samsung Pay work again?

You have to flash this zip with TWRP which I think needs root. I have been away from the scene since s7 edge but I'm pretty sure you need to root.

Pre-ordered Note 10+ (unlocked), have a question..

Just purchased the black note 10+ unlocked and also took the galaxy watch while I was at it. I added the Verizon sim to save me a trip to the store.
My two questions are:
Since I selected trade in on my Verizon note 8, will they take it if it's not unlocked?
Will this unlocked note 10+ allow me to flash custom ROMs and root if they are found?
1. I think they'll take the trade-in as long as the phone is paid off and in good condition
2. Only Note 10s with Exynos will have guaranteed access to root and custom ROMs. If i'm not mistaken, starting with the S9 series of snapdragon phones, root became pretty much impossible. IF root happens, it's going to be a very VERY long time (IF ever, that is).

Where do you get the international Exynos version of the Note 10?
Ended up canceling my pre order through Sammy. I really want to have a exynos again for custom potential.

With trade ins, it shouldn't matter what carrier or if it's carrier unlocked as long as it's in good condition.
As for potential for root and unlocked bootloaders, the chances are slim to none with any US Snapdragon model. Add to that, having Verizon makes it more difficult as the Exynos models are not compatible. If you want a phone with unlockable bootloader for use on Verizon, your options are the Pixels direct from Google, OnePlus 7 Pro, or buying a Latin American Note 9 or Note 10 that allows bootloader unlocking.

Ahhh, as far as I know for pre-ordering, you'd have to do that through either an overseas carrier or one of Samsung's overseas websites (like UK or something). Even then, don't know if any of em will ship to the US. They likely won't.
If you wait til release day or after, Amazon should sell them then. You can finally find the exynos variants on Amazon under "international version" if I'm not mistaken.

Yes. Tmobile uses: 2, 4, 5, 12, 46, 66, 71, and LTE U. I guess they'll acquire Sprint frequencies eventually.

Youo can either buy it on EBAY - several good sellers offer it there - or you can go the CLOVE UK web site and get it from them. I have purchased all of my last four phnoes from CLOVE - they have decent prices and great customer service. Fast shipping too considering they are in the UK.If you buy the phone from them and pay 20 bucks for 3 day shipping - they will ship the phone on the 23rd and you should hve it by Monday or Tuesday.
Which ever you choose, good luck!
The Exynos does not support all the LTE bands used in the United States, including band 13 which is a requirement for Verizon.
As for the Latin American Note 10+, it's too soon to know if there will be any differences. The Latin American Note 9 (N9600) took a few months after release for people to figure out how to get everything working on Verizon. Out of the box it didn't work with VOLTE, but after a complex series of firmware flashes and tweaks, it can work. For many, the uncertainty of buying an international phone with no warranty and not knowing what challenges they will face is limiting. Check out the Note 9 forum on how to convert an N9600 to Verizon and see if it looks feasible. The Latin American variants will likely be the N9700 (Note 10) and N9750 (Note 10+) if Samsung sticks to their model number structure.

@m3dd0g - what was/is the issue with the eSIM with O2? i have a US SD Variant (locked to ATT) with 2 IMEI numbers and Samsung support said an update will be pushed to enable the eSIM (yes, i have 20% confidence in Samsung support's statement). the use of a Nano and eSim was a driving factor in my N20 Ultra purchase. Thanks.

Is it possible to change csc on Samsung Note 20 Ultra 5G?

Hi,
I have Samsung Note 20 Ultra 5G (Model SM-N986N) (Korea) (Snapdragon).
I purchased this from eBay for a great price, was wondering if it is possible to change it to a different native language without bloatware, Without ROOT? Is it possible to change the model of this phone to SM-N986B?
If i do it with ROOT, is there a ROM that would still allow banking apps to work?

I can only really, answer you on one of your questions.........
You have a Snapdragon device, correct?
However,
the SM-N986B is a Exynos device..?
So far as my knowledge base goes..
You can't flash Exynos firmware onto Snapdragon.... you will "brick" your device!
( I have a SM-N986B Exynos device, it's a dual sim device)
To change to different language, should be possible.
Factory reset your device and in process of setting up your device
just change the language( in one of the preset options....)
Unfortunately this won't change CSC.
As with root i cannot help you, as i stopped rooting a few years back... due to my Banking apps and few other apps that was not root friendly.
Yes, i do believe if you root,
you can " spoof" some banking apps... to work.
Personally, this is not for me.
Good luck.

not working
I know this is an old thread, but did anyone try this? does it work?
I have Note 20 Ultra (SM-N986N) and want to flash (SM-N986B) firmware.
The main reason is to get e-sim feature "Sim Card Manager" option in settings. as it is disabled unfortunately.
If any one tried this, please advice us.
in case this is not possible; what is the soultion to enable e-sim without rooting.
Appreciate your response.
