Hey, with Android 10, i could lock my Spotify App, so that when i click "close all" in the App switcher, Spotify stays open and music doesn't stop playing.
I could then manually close the app by swipping it up, even if locked. Now with Android 11, when i lock the app, it doesn't let me close it by swipping up, not until i unlock it before.
Are you guys having the same issue?
Thanks!

Lollipop seems to have eliminated lock screen widgets.
My main lock screen widget was controls for a music player (I'm using Shuttle), so that I don't have to unlock the phone to start and stop music.
How can I do this in Lollipop?
If shuttle (sorry, never used it) has interactive notifications, it'll show on the lock screen when playing music .

Hit and miss depending on app I think. Play and Spotify do. But if pattern lock and sensitive data option selected, play does and Spotify is censored.
Interactive notifications will let me stop music that's playing. It won't let me start the music from the lockscreen, something I could do with Kit Kat.

Play also shows on the lock screen when it's active, but I can't start it from the lock screen if it's inactive.
How do I use music controls with Play on Lollipop? I can't seem to figure it out...

Yeah, Lockscreen widgets are no more. When do you usually listen to music? when you insert headphones? Connect to a bluetooth receiver? You can use the app Trigger and set up certain triggers that will start music. I use it in my car. When it connects to my Bluetooth receiver, it will automatically open the music app and start playing music. I don't touch my phone and my phone doesn't even turn on. You can have it activate using other triggers though.

Play a song and the notification will appear in your notification bar and on the lockscreen. Depending on the app you use I guess. I use Google Music

Plugging in a headphone is not as convenient as just touching the screen, and it costs, but that is a creative solution to something that wasn't previously a problem

Well that was just an example. What you need is an app that puts a persistent music control notification in your status bar which will show on your lock screen. That's the only way you are going to get a widget like feature on the lock screen. I don't know of one though. Try searching the Play Store

Excuse the noobnes lol but can you like rewind and such from the lock screen? All i see is the ability to skip forward. Holding the app does nothing in the notification. Pulling it down gives me the option of going forward but no rewind or fast forward. Is this possible like onKK?
I use Play Music latest update as well.

I don't think they made the notification that advanced. It's just a simple Pause/Play and Skip notification.

Well I don't really see the problem with tapping on the notification which will open straight to the song that is playing and you can do all that there. It's not that much to do.

Double tap the lockscreen notification, enter pin (or otherwise unlock), then it opens to the song.

For those who miss google music widget on lockscreen, here's how to get it back :
- Go to Settings
- Go to Sound and Notifications
- Go to App notifications
- Look for Google Music or any other music app you got : Select Priority in order to force widget to be shown
I suggest you try this tip with any broken lockscreen widget
Cheers

These are not widgets. They are ongoing notifications.
..and to expand on what you're saying, what you actually need to do is:
- go to sound and notifications
- set "when device locked" to "show all notification content" instead of "hide sensitive notification content"
- Go to app notifications
- Set any apps you want to be sensitive individually to sensitive
Priority only does 2 things
1) Sets the Notification in pull down at top when unlocked
2) Allows notifications to come through when in priority notification mode
Setting priority will not allow the notification on lock screen if it is set to sensitive.
That doesn't do what I wanted.
What I asked for in the OP was a way to start and stop music from the lockscreen. The entire priority notification process only shows the widget if music is already playing.
It does not show a widget or notification to start music when a music app is not playing.

I continue to find it annoying that Lollipop requires three actions - swipe, unlock (which usually requires multiple clicks), click play - while KK required one - click play.
i use stitcher and spotify alot, and withe very other android phone I can play/pause from the lockscreen, as theres a notification banner for it.
this phone doesn't have one. I have to unlock the phone, swipe down, and then get into the app from the notification shade.
Any way to access open apps from the lockscreen?
So far, you can't do nothing, EMUI is like that

I use Spotify on my Honor 8 and it shows me album art, along with play/pause/forward/back buttons on the lock screen for the currently playing song...
Not sure why you're not seeing the same. Are you using something other than the default "Magazine"-style lock screen that the phones uses by default?
You can use the software to unlock the way, but requires root privileges

Hello all
Anyone know a way i can get lockscreen music controls to work.?
i use pocketcasst and deezer and none of them will have lock screen controls im sure its a Huawei thing.
as they work on all other phones.
Any help would be great with this thank you.
The only way i get them is to press pause on the headset and then they pop up.

Ohhh that actually explains why they was there the other day then went lol thanks for the reply mate.
It still remains a lousy way, im still hoping for a better way. The controls are off to, i need to press way more right that the buttons are. And sometimes the control buttons just move to the left under the album cover by them selfs.

I keep holding out that Huawei will actually fix this.
I am using power amp app and I am able to get lockscreen music controls.
open your music app and then go to the notification tray , u can see your music controls there and then slowly slide it to the right, you will see a setting gear icon besides it , open that one and enable "display in the lock screen" option. ?

Spotify is whitelisted for me (by default, even changed the xml to com.spotify.music-2 as that's what it's named in /data/app) .... But it refuses to show on the lockscreen. UNTIL.... You play through a song, when it goes to the next song it appears and disappears 'til that song has played. Def a Huawei thing. I guess it's added "security". Notifications are on as well, and "display all on lockscreen".
Edit: actually it doesn't seem to obey the "display all notifications on lockscreen" setting as I just realized no notifications show at all.
(SOLVED) just disable the Smart Lock Screen Notification in face recognition setting.
Hello, I currently have a Google Pixel and would like to disable the Multi-Window (Split Screen) feature. I am rooted so I can edit the build.prop/other system files if needed. I have tried to find an answer on how to do this but have been unsuccessful.
Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!
First, I am sorry I do not have an answer.
I am curious to the issue your having with the split screen.
It's not something that automatically happens. The split screen has to be engaged from the recent apps window by a long press of one of the apps and selecting the second app. It is easily undone by dragging the black bar in the middle to either the top or bottom of the screen.

The reason I am wanting to disable this feature is because I am using an "App Locker" and it is very easy to bypass the app locker by going into multi-window mode and disabling it by making small movements.
If there would be a foolproof app locker I would be willing to try that instead of this, however I have tried several and several working together at the same time but I can always bypass them by using the multi window feature.
This is the blocker I am using - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.domobile.applock&hl=en

Many Years later, I'm now facing the same problem. Did you find a way to disable multi-window?
Hello,
I've discovered this bug in the navigation gesture system. The app drawer won't open after a second or so after swiping up to go home from any application. The only way to open the app drawer in this case is to swipe up from the bottom of the screen. Please help starring this issue on the Google Bug Tracker:
https://issuetracker.google.com/143434565
Thanks,
Done. That issue is frustrating
youre actually using the gestures? you really like to stand out from the crowd dont you?

Huh
Isn't this because the animation is still going?
I have the Same issue.
But its Not just swipe Up the App drawer. When you try to Open an App directly its the Same Problem.
Same when you use an App shortcut after going home.
Hope Google will fix it soon

Yes, but you can still swipe up from the very bottom of the screen to open the app drawer.
Issue fixed on December patch.
Does anyone misses the most used apps that appears when you swipe up or is it only me?

Still happening for me. I can't open any other app or swipe to a different screen right away after swiping up to go "home". I have to wait for that stupid corner animation.
- Edit: Looks like it is only still an issue with 3rd party launchers like Nova. Still BS Google has buggy launcher issues with Gesture Nav.

Yep, same, running Nova. Unfortunate lag. Also, if I'm in the App drawer swiping up doesn't return to home screen, it brings up "Search Apps" screen. Have to swipe back from the App drawer to get back to home.
Edit: Question, what's the purpose of flashing those bars in the corners with the resultant delay in running apps? Is there some functional purpose, or just a constant reminder that the Assistant can be accessed swiping the corners?
Edit: Fixed the App Drawer issue with swipe up not returning to home. It was a Nova setting. Also, reported delay issue to Nova and they responded it's a known issue with all 3rd party launchers, and hopefully Google will fix it in a future update. One work around is to use back swipe to exit apps to get back to home which avoids the delay.
