[Help] Phone Working On WRONG FIRMWARE.....!!!!!! {Magic Happened} - General Questions and Answers

Hello Everyone!
So today something really interesting happened with me...... I'm feeling okay but i'm kinda nervous too.
I had rooted my phone earlier and flashed Lineage OS but i was encountering lots of problems so i tried to flash phone's firmware with odin.
My phone was Samsung Galaxy On7 Pro. I installed a firmware file and flashed it. But unfortunately, the firmware was of Samsung Galaxy On7 not Samsung Galaxy On7 Pro. When, i installed it, i encountered a DRK error! Then, it took me to Stock Recovery. From there, i wiped cache and internal storage and rebooted. It somehow worked very correctly. But now whenever i reboot my phone, i get Galaxy On7 logo not Galaxy On7 Pro. I don't know what happened but it's a MIRACLE of Android.........!!!!!!!
So, my queries are as follows:
Now, i'm stuck on Android Lollipop (5.1.1). There is a OTA update available within the system because it says its official now. What if i update? Will it even update? Or it will brick because phone model is different and firmware is diffrent?
Will it run smoothly in the situation where it is? (Note: I have not encountered any issues till now. Both Software and Hardware work well)
So, Miracles can happen in android world as happened with me.

Glad to hear you were able to unbrick your phone!
First a warning, I have no experience with your particular phone. But, I would think your update would go through. Usually the Pro and non-pro models are very similar and that is why your firmware worked. There might be some weird functionality in some areas like the camera or modems.
So, you can try the update. Worse case, you flash the On7 Pro firmware instead of the non-pro version again.

Well, the software updated and worked. No issues at all.
But i'm still confused how did it even work........
Anyway, i'm back to Marshmallow (6.0.1) again.
Everything works fine. I tested most things and all work correctly. I think Samsung just gave 8GB storage in non-pro version and 16GB in pro version and software is same xD
I also got new bootanimation and phone turn on sound from that
Moreover, i ordered a new Samsung M31 as i wanted more storage
But problems on older phone are also solved
Now, i will keep 2 phones

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Live Demo (Which so should i download?)

Hey I recently bought a Note Edge, in its Live Demo Mode, I want it to have a normal software, without those RetailMode stuff, I dont know which software I should download as the model, according to the phone, is SM-N915x, but I haven't found any so for this specific model. Now I am downloading this one; N915TUBU2BOK1_N915TTCE2BOJ1_TCE, hoping that any software for SM-N915 will make this phone boot. Right now, it just keeps saying that Firmware Upgrade encountered an issue. I really hope you can help me please.
Did you ever find a solution
ı thınk you must ınstall cpuz and get info .if your cpu is qualcom or snapdragon try install twrp on twrp manager and try roms.

[Help!] Major update and partition issues for my Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930U)

Hi everyone, there is this really strange issue with my phone, if i try to update it to the latest Nougat version it will update but will reboot and work for about 30 seconds before it restarts, the phone works well if i stay on the android version I have now (7.0 May 2017 update) but if I update it even just by one version it will continue to have this issue which forced me to restore it back via Odin. Also when I go into my settings and have a look at my storage I notice that it only says that it has 16GB storage capacity which isn't true. I was wondering if anyone out there has had this issue before or knows how to fix any of mine any information would be greatly appreciated. Before anyone asks, no my phone has never been rooted, I have tried factory resetting, I have tried other firmware's from different carriers, I have tried most things but nothing seems to work, please help. Thanks.
So it's updating via OTA and having problems or you're manually flashing to newer versions? And when you flash you're using all 4 firmware files and no just AP?

Confused while trying to update my phone

Hello everyone,
I have bought a used Samsung Galaxy S8+ from China. I have been using it for a few days and i havent noticed anything odd. I don't know the phones origin or for how long has it been used before I got it.
It is running on Android 7.0 (Nougat). Since this is an older version of android I've been thinking to update it to Android 8.0 (Oreo). But I know that the phone doesn't have the originl ROM installed on it since I am not able to update it from the settings app and I also noticed that Knox was tripped in Odin mode.
This is the part which confuses me: if i enter Odin download mode there is a section which tells you your model number, and for me it says SM-G955N but if I look at the back of the phone or in the settings app it says SM-G955FD.
I was planning to download custom ROM and just simply install it via Odin app on my pc.
I'm just worried that I don't mess up something on my phone since the model numbers don't match up. How do I install any software update from this point and does the missmatching model number influence it?
I would very much appreciate anyones help, thanks.

Problems with flashing baseband, and wrong hardware info? Please help...

Hello!
I have a Redmi Note 6 Pro, which i wanted to update to the latest baseband version (To be able to update Havoc Rom to the latest version, as well).
When i flashed latest version for my phone from xiaomifirmwareupdater.com, the screen started flashing, and touch detection was way off. I solved this by downgrading to an earlier baseband version, but i still want to update it, what can i do?
Another problem (or rather weird occurance) i found while looking into this, is that the "Model and Hardware"-section of my settings show my phone as a "Redmi Note 5". The weird thing is that i do 100% have a Note 6 Pro, i was worried for a while that i had misunderstood what kind of phone i bought, but after checking out both of them on Google images, i am sure What can lead to the phone showing the wrong hardware version like that?
I was thinking that these two things were related somehow (that i flashed the baseband for the wrong type of phone) but i am running an older version of the baseband for Note 6 Pro Tulip right now, and that works like a charm, so it's not that.
Thanks for any help you guys can provide, i really just want to upgrade my baseband & rom!

Stuck on stock Pie with bootloader v5

Hi everybody,
I just bought a S8+ with firmware G955FXXU5DSFB - Pie - pre-installed.
After a couple of days (and nights), the frustration piled up:
- barely managed to install TWRP
- RMM protection and "only official released binaries are allowed" messages that seem to come up again almost randomly
- still didn't manage to root
- what's worse - this bootloader downgrade issue (which I've just found out about) - the bootloader cannot be downgraded - is it for real ?
The final question - how can I install a custom Oreo/Nougat custom ROM if I have the BL v5 ?
I guess all the custom ROMS have lower bootloader versions. Does this mean I am stuck forever with stock Pie ? That would be a really bad.
Since when did Samsung turn so bad ? My previous phone was a Note 4 - I haven't been following the xda/Android news for the past 5 years.
Thanks a lot, and as always - xda-developers rule !
I managed to root the phone with Magisk.
I tried to flash Omega ROM, but the phone was stuck at boot screen.
Can someone pmease confirm that there's no way I can install cuatom ROM?
Thanks.
Unfortunately you are stuck to Pie forever, it's also the case for me, got my s8+ with Pie (BL5) and didn't even try to downgrade to Oreo, coz it's impossible
I'm using Alexis Rom with NX Kernel now, everything is perfect, smooth along with 6h30 screen on time
Hi, thanks for the reply. Isn't there any version of Oreo that has BL5 ?
Anyway, had I known this stuff beforehand, I would have never bought the phone. I am sorry that Samsung went so wrong, locking down their phones so brutally. I owned only Samsung smartphones, starting with SGS1; most likely this will be my last Samsung.

No, no oreo firmware with BL5 :/
I got mine for free so I'm not that bothered Plus I'm still enjoying oreo on my s7 edge
It seems that, in fact, there is a way of downgrading: I have now Oreo running on the device with BL5.
