Help!
I just reinstalled the firmware to my moto z2 force and I had this problem:
I want to connect Bluetooth headphones and it connects well and stays connected, the problem is that the sound sounds but on the phone!
I go into sound settings and it switched to playing multimedia on the Bluetooth device and nothing.
I already tried to reset network settings, Bluetooth and wifi and nothing

Whenever I connect the phone to my car's BT phone calls are routed correctly. However, other audio (e.g Sat Nav directions) are also routed through BT too. Unfortunately, the car cannot play these so no sounds are heard. I want to force the phone to route non-call related audio through the phone's external speaker as normal even when connected to BT. Apps I've found in the market are all designed to do the reverse!
So, I take it that nobody else has this problem?
Give this a try....Go to Settings->Wireless & Networks->Bluetooth Settings and long press on your paired connection and select "Options". In Options uncheck "Media", but leave "Phone" and "Connect" checked.
Try it and see if that works.
Cheers but I've already tried that. All that happens is the connection disconnects completely and when I tried to connect (with the media option deselected) it automatically reconnects the media option too!
Problem: Whenever I enable my wifi hotspot it causes my bluetooth audio to fail after approximately 5 min.
Example: In the car on car audio talking. Now enable to the hotspot for a wifi device (both services running on my phone at the same time). It works fine for a few min but then my I suddenly can't hear the person on the other end of the bluetooth call.
Troubleshooting:
1. If I turn off the wifi hotspot, the bluetooth audio will reconnect after about a min and I can hear the caller again.
2. If I have a bluetooth call going, the call does not drop. The other person is still there but just I can't hear them, they continue to hear me talking the whole time. The bluetooth devices stays connected - only the audio in is lost while audio out continues to work normally.
3. I have reprovisioned my phone with a new stock rom and tried it from a clean install before loading any third party apps and I get the same thing.
Phone specs
HTC Amaze, stock rom, android 4.0.3
Admittedly, I have not experimented with other blutooth devices only the connection to my car audio. The problem could be with my car bluetooth but I have never had connection issues with the car audio connected to any other bluetooth device.
I read an article that wifi and bluetooth can interfere with one another. But this only happens when both services are enable on the same phone (My HTC Amaze) at the same time. Wierd and frustrating because I have to kill my hotspot if I am going to receive a call and use bluetooth.

I have a Bluetooth headset that I want only the phone calls to go to and I have the media audio disabled the Bluetooth settings for it. however every time I disconnect and reconnect the headset the media audio still shows disabled yet all the audio gets routed to the headset. I have reset the Bluetooth settings and cleared the cache, and also reset up the headset multiple times and the problem still comes back. the only way I can get it to stop routing media audio to the headset is to each time I connect I have to manually go into the settings re-enable and then disable media audio. Any suggestions? This headset works fine on my pixel to set up that way.

This sounds like a similar issue I am having. This is not necessarily a problem with the device but a setting within the headset.
I usually have my BT Headset going more than 12-hours per day. I want the phone app to speak the callers' name over BT (Earphone mode> speak caller ID). The settings in my BT headset override the settings on the phone. Thus, when there is a phone call I hear, "Call from ###-###-####." No matter what I do on the phone, the headset will override it.
In your case, the headset might have a similar override forcing the media audio to reconnect.
Try contacting the manufacturer and see if you can change the settings in the headset.
Cheers,
Hey guys,
i have extreme bluetooth problems on my POCO X3 NFC that drive me crazy.
I hoped a custom rom could solve this problem, but it still remains.
So I am on ArrowOS now, still the same problem. The problem looks like this:
When i connect a bluetooth headset it connects and looks ready to go, however when i press the play button
on spotify for example the headset somehow disconnects and the sound is played via onboard speakers.
Then i connect the headset again and after some tries sometimes it works, but then after some time the
headset just disconnects again and the sound is played via onboard again.
I tried everything from wipe everything/ reset all settings/ pair everything again and so on and so on.
Is there any known fix for this or any setting that i am missing?
Greetings
My phone was previously rooted and had been connecting to my car Bluetooth correctly for a couple of years. I have recently relocked the bootloader and reinstalled the phone but when I set it up now to connect to my car while I am driving, I have to manually open the phone and changed the incoming/outgoing call audio to the car. It used to do this automatically and I don't know how to fix this though I have searched through the settings on both car and phone. I believe the phone is the issue.
