Batteries - Where, Help?? - Galaxy S 5 Accessories

Where in the world could we now find a reliable battery for our old but gold galaxy S5?
Are there any authentic batteries still being produced till date?
The GAD batteries from UK are now out of production too!
Do you guys suggest downgrading to the very first firmware in order to retain battery performance and eliminate lag?

Crickets....anyone???
any idea when that GADfull battery from the UK will restock? I see them as the only decent option other than the extended batteries from AliExpress..

Anyone have experience with one of these?

Wish I knew. I saw somewhere that Polarcell used to be good, but then heard that Nohon was too, and the consensus now is that Nohon lasts a year. Getting to where the phones need new batteries and all we know is that the "Samsung" batteries are either run down used ones or counterfeit.
Downside of Polarcell is that they seem to only have them in Germany, which means $$ shipping.
I need a battery for mine and am trying to look around. Someone somewhere said "go to a local repair place that has been there a while, they know the ones that actually work"

battery question

alright im looking for a spare battery and with all the knock offs online i really being a bit sketched out, if anyone could help me it would be great!
the siedio online is 1600mah
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/basi16hnx1.htm
i also found this:
http://store.cheapnexusone.com/HTC-Nexus-One-OEM-1500-mAh-Slim-Extended-Battery.html
but i really dunno if its legit, cause i can t find anything about it anywhere else online...
also i found this
http://www.amazon.com/Google-Nexus-...3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1266349698&sr=1-3
problem is siedio doesn t sell a 1400mah battery, its nowhere on there website so i dunno if its legit or not?
i guess my question really is:
is the siedio a legit battery brand and its gonna go take a crap on me or damage the phone
and are the other 2 battery legit or knock offs?
if your definition of "legit" means made by HTC, then Seidio's battery is not legit. it's been my experience (over the past 3 years) that Seidio sells quality batteries. i don't know the specific manufacturer, but they're likely from japan. all of my purchased batteries performed well. i plan to purchase Seidio's 2800 mAh battery this week.
+1 for Seidio batteries & thier other accessories in general!

[Q] Anyone Tried This? - Replacement Battery

Hey Guys
I'm having some quite bad battery life with my DHD and I was looking into getting a bigger capacity battery.
I found this:
http://www.htcrepairparts.com/standard-battery-for-htc-desire-hd1600mah-p-3411.html?language=en
It is 1600 mAh and on paper looks promising and before I just wanted to check has anyone ordered this and had successful results with this battery and the seller or is it just a fail?
Thanks
Patrick
Found one while browsing around for a replacement for my DHD too.
Can't post links yet, but if you go to a site called evertop ending in a .co.uk and search for 35H00141-02M, you will find one with 1550mAH rating.
There are a few of these replacement ones claiming higher capacity, but one has to be cautious about these things mate.
Would love to find a genuinely reliable replacement one, although I must admit, if you haven't tried it already, there is a thread around which has a tip to charge the DHD in a certain way - seems to have worked for me upto certain extent - have managed to go over 24h without the need to charge with moderate use.
Hi I am a new member here. I also read somewhere about a mugen battery. haven't been able to order yet. I recently bought an external 5000mAh battery (USB charging) I can charge my DHD approximately 4 times before recharging the external battery.
just wanted to share an alternative to extended batteries that need to replace your battery cover.
a 5000mAh? holy ****...
EXTERNAL
the ones, which you connect to your usb port and charge the phone's battery
i wouldn't buy another internal one than the original.
battery's can be really dangerous..no chance to buy one from china or so..just my 2 cents.
DN41
These are the same as ones you can get from ebay.

Take extra precaution to this company. They will send you counterfeit goods no matter what if they think you are incapable of fighting back (say, living too far away).
My friend has been scammed once, and he went through all the complain channel in UK online in vain. It seems that UK's Government has no intention to stop online scammers that are active in their own countries. That was really an awkward discovery.
So be very careful.
I still don't get why people consider battery life as extremely important for phones that have easy to remove batteries...
They arent too expensive, ($3 on ebay for a 1600 mah fake, $15 for a genuine 1230) and its not exactly that hard to keep a few on you.
External batteries are also another option, but they usually use more space than internal ones (and they also require a cable).

but external can hold ALOT more AND plug into various devices
I would definitely recommend an external powerpack. I have a New Trent 5500mah pack, and it indeed gives 2-3 recharges, in a form factor slightly smaller than the DHD.
The only battery which is not fake, is the Mugen, coming in at 1500mah. It's not a huge improvement, but many say it's the difference between running out of juice mid-evening, and making it through to the night and the power cord.
Search for Mugen in this forum, all the details are there.
Or look for NewTrent on Amazon for example. The price varies (and they have bigger models too).
Avoid ALL OTHER "high capacity" batteries

You are right, batteries aren't expensive nowaday.
I recommend using genuine where possible. Fake/replacement/counterfeit batteries return bogus charging level to the devices, and that would result in pre-mature shutdown which would damage mobile devices.

evertop co uk is a well-known scammer. You should have looked up uk's ripoff list (forgot the full name of this website, you could search) and you can find it listed top 10 or something.
UK is hoarded with scammers like that, because their government just don't give a dime of what their people do on the internet.

Worth the money I paid (few $).

Hi Guys,
I cannot put links yet, but search for "2430MAH HIGH CAPACITY BAS470 GOLD BATTERY FOR DESIRE HD" on Ebay. Got it yesterday, so far so good, looks like it lasts more than the stock one...
It says "Made in Japan" but im not sure about this
Did anyone else tried this one?

2430MAH? i don't think it is even possible to fit that much cell into the DHD battery size, i'm currently on the mugen 1500MAH battery, it is slightly better then the stock battery, would recommend that

- Ive been a little worried about this as I have a cheap one from China which came in an accessory pack, which by the way sucked. everything has just fallen apart. but the battery, which I rely on heavily as a backup, seems to have a better life than the original odly enough, dunno what's up with that. afraid it may leak or output higher charges and fry my phone?

<Battery> Any one tried it?

I found this on ebay..
http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/NEW-GOLD-243...neBatteries&hash=item4aa9178adc#ht_3268wt_772
any one tried it already ? or is there any review? i cant seem to find any on the web!
btw, its make in Japan.
The look of the battery is really nice.
But 2430
Can't say I've tried it but it looks like crap to me, same as most other batteries on eBay. Who cares if their battery is gold or not?

Yup, looks way better than the ones in the accessories section
This seems totally fake.
Googling will get you a few discussions on this battery, but the following image should confirm all suspicions.
http://img109.imageshack.us/i/20100708029.jpg/
For this one (1930mAh) it is only 750mAh....
well, i think this is fake and i don't think this is made in Japan, but in mainland china
I'm about 400% sure it is a piece of ****. Unless they are selling some amazing new high density cell technology for only ten quid. If so we need to thank them for not seeking to profit from their industry changing discovery.
-----
Sent from my pimped up Desire HD in association with Rcmix HD v3.3.
its not a gold like metal battery, lol. its just a normal battery wrap in gold sticker.
mmmmm, gold stickers also increase the CPU speed. lol
that really funny.....
I never tried, but look at the cell type Li-Ion Polymer IMHO it's somehow realistic. Maybe not as their ads 2430mAh but somewhere between 1230 and that value. Then 20 bucks is worth to try, any one brave enough to try and report?
You can check the seller's recent feedback and see if anyone bought any from them.
I mean there shouldn't be any harm, its just a battery. Its not like buying an adapter charger, in case of wrong voltage which will fry ur phone.
now, I'm no expert (and there is no end of websites run by battery experts), but there is a limitation as to how many mah can fit into a certain space.
That is, the OEM battery size gives a certain output, and you can probably get a bit more in the same form factor.
But not double Simply don't believe the bull**** out there. Whether it's chinese, japanese, gold or silver.
Older teminal designs allowed manufacturers to market physically bigger batteries with a custom cover, of course that is not an option here.
I am quite happy as long as I can get a day out of the phone, charging overnight.
If you want a 11,000 mah battery, look here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Largest-Capacity-In-The-World+1-AMP-Faster-Charging/dp/B004CHMP50/
There you go, your phone will run forever with that baby hooked up to it.
I bought a 5000 mah pack for about 2/3 the price, mainly since I want to be using the gps for tracking (and being tracked) purposes while out in the country on my mountain bike. Works very well, it's not heavy, it's a bit like having another small phone with you
Its quite likely that most manufacturing overstate the specification, which is a common thing really, not just battery, broadband, harddrive, etc. They always claim it has more then what it actually has.
But on the other hand, I wouldn't go so far calling it a fake, since japs does always paint something gold or silver to suggest higher quality stuff. Because when I was a kid living in asia, I buy a lot of radio control cars from japan and their expensive parts like battery, motors, always has something gold or silver attach to it
Has anyone ever got a decent battery from eBay?
I have been looking and I see a lot of 1500 mah ... but then if you read the fine print they say 1500 mah (+/- 200 mah) which admits that it is just another 1300 mah knock off. How can a legitimate battery be + or - 200 mah...
To bad the battery's coming from Japan are crap.
You want battery's from Hongkong, those are way better.
Anyway i bought a replacement/2nd battery wich had 1600mAh.
But after 2 weeks it wasnt as good as the stock battery wich let me use my phone all day and the 1600mAh one didnt.

Precisely. tbh, I understand we'd all like to believe there are miracle solutions to this, but equally we should understand that this miracle is not going to come from an ebay seller
However few dollars a cheap battery costs you, it ain't much use if it's going to fail after a few hours. And the hassle linked with keeping replacement batteries charged is not worth it either. I had a spare OEM battery for my previous phone, and I got fed up of keeping it ready.
3 solutions:
1) strategies to minimise power consumption (loads of suggestions in this sub-forum)
2) keep it topped up during the day if you're at home/office
3) get an external power pack as I mentioned above, 5000mah variants are (were) GBP23 on Amazon.

[Q] Getting a New Battery

I've had my Galaxy S 4G for several months now, and recently the battery life has lessened during daily use.
I originally used a 1700mAh genuine Samsung battery (forgive me it may have been 1650), but switched over to some backup batteries I have that are 1500mAh.
The 1500's don't have the same life, so I'd like to buy something better.
I found a 2000mAh on eBay, but would that require a new battery door? The seller does not indicate the battery size. Is it possible to get a 2000mAh battery for my 4G S that is the same size as the original battery?
Any suggestions and response are appreciated. Thanks! - Jamie
as far as I know, there's only one fairly decent battery that will fit your phone as is. and that would be the 1800 mAh battery. there's a thread about it in the accessories section, you should look it up
Thanks for your suggestion. Doesn't seem to be the sort of question many want to answer.
They sell 1800mAh batteries on eBay for 2.99, so I think its worth a shot. I just don't want to get a battery that requires a new door, or makes my phone thicker.
Just saying, you get what you paid for. Honestly, IMO you should try to get the OEM samsung battery for the epic 4g touch, or ankler 1800mAh batteries. there was a battery thread somewhere around the vibrant accesories board which someone tested a bunch of batteries, and a lot of the cheaper off-brands had a lower mAh rating than advertised
We shall see. I actually ended up ordering a 2000mAh off eBay for 11.49. The battery was listed as a fit for my phone. I have actually had some good experience in the past buying third-party batteries, specifically for Motorola phone, but, I've also had poor experiences buying knock-off batteries for blackberries that were packaged to look like the genuine thing.
I'll post back, maybe in a week or so when the battery is delivered and I test it.

Legit OEM battery.

Hello everyone,
recently I have been having charging/discharging issues with the batter and I have figure out to change the batter. I went to Amazon/Ebay looking for good batteries but ended up backing out due to the fact that all reviews bring up the legitimacy of these batteries. So here I'm trying to find a good battery replacement.
Thanks in advance.
I've heard MD / Mobile Defenders is a good supplier but I don't know where you reside in but they are for the U.S.
Thanks, I'll do some search and see if I can find a viable way to purchase from them.
i bought a replacement battery from ebay. not samsung directly but said samsung. Whether the battery is legit im not sure but i replaced my fat bulging battery and have had the one from ebay in my s6. considering it has lasted me since last summer and ive had the same if not better battery life and for the price of 10 bucks (already owned the tools) its been good. The replacement process is easy and i am a novice cell repair man. besides getting a bad battery you can always return it and get a replacement or try another vendor. Godspeed fella
