Hi guys.
I have an Oppo Find X2 Pro with Android 11 and ColorOS 11
I see that de stock camera app is a little poor in details (for example front camera)... With Pro mode, front camera quality improves...
I´d like to configure or use an other app to improve camera (specially front camera)
What version of GCam or XML or another app do you recommend me to improve cameras quality??
Thanks

Why everyone need camera 2 API. Miui camera is best, I test on miui 9 Google camera and it is the same. Only advantage of camera api it is possibility to write RAW file, but only some people want it
No, Gcam produces better dynamic range, better color production, less noise. In daylight difference not that big but especially in low light gcam is far better. Only bad thing on gcam you have to wait too long for shoot a photo. Also stock camera on selfies is literally garbage, doesn't use all capabilities of the sensor.
No, Google Camera is absolutely better, especially on the night photos :highfive:
I not tested front camera on camera 2 API.
Back camera is near the same imo
Gcam generally produces better images, the result is worth the added processing time. Portrait selfie is a lot damn sharper and that one is nowhere MIUI camera can touch.
Guys, join the petition on the official MIUI forum. Here's the link, we want our Camera2 API back on our Mi Note 3!!

Done
Config about Camera from Miui 10 has difference from Miui 9 which Mi 10 has not Level 3 but Mi 9 has config Level 3
you can install app name : camera2 Probe and droid hardware info from play store to check your config
So we are staying with miui 9 until xiaomi unlocks this?
Hello,
I just bought the Mi Note 10 because I thought it could record x5 zoom video with the x5 camera. But it is using the x2 camera and it is low quality. Do you know how to use the x5 camera to record video? I'm using MUI 11.0.13 on Android 9.
Thank you.
I found the answer. Using this modded Open Camera is possible https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81870041&postcount=15
It is using org.codeaurora.snapcam package, if you have some GCam installed you may have problems to install the modded Open Camera and you will have to uninstall the GCam.
I've read that in .eu Rom is also possible with the stock camera, but I didn't test it.
Is the stock (Android 9) ZTE camera app able to be exported and used on a third party ROM (Lineage) ? I've tried multiple third party camera apps and it appears the main rear camera hardware is being reported as only being 12MP.
That's really confusing because the rear camera array is advertised as being a 48MP for standard & wide angle shots, a 8MP for "telephoto" shots (but who seriously 3x optical zoom is telephoto?) , and 20MP for ultrawide shots.
Are they pulling a Bait-n-Switch by software interperlating the main camera up to 48MP?
I'm guessing there are closed source libraries / drivers which allow the OEM camera app to access all of the various cameras? Maybe someone from the Axon 7 group may know?
Has someone already attempted to do this? Does anyone want to take a crack at this before I spend two or seven weeks attempting to do so?
That's 4to1 Pixelbinning. Don't worry about that. 12 MP delivers better results than 48 MP!
Can someone turn off the noise reduction in the default camera app (miui camera)? I have seen changes to the Poco x3 camera using other app (pro shot) without noise reduction the results are really cool and natural. is it possible for someone to modify the default camera (miui camera) like that? thanks.
It appears that not, there's no option visible to deactive. recently realized that in the stock camera: in selfies the faces look washed out and without details. Hopefully in the new version of the camera for Android 11 improve that.
Until I tried the GCam 8.1 from ArnovaG8, and an improvement in the definition of the photographs is very noticeable (at least from the front camera), the only bad point is that the files are 2.1MPX (FullHD), perhaps with another version .
I read somewhere that one plus has not provided access to Nord auxiliary (apart from the main camera), like wideangle , macro and telephoto for developers. Is this correct?, Is there a way to enable the same using build/prop or any other method.
Stock OOS11 doesn't work. Works on custom ROMs tho.
This is the current status for GCam on the original Nord:
OxygenOS 10 (Android 10) or any custom ROM (Android 10 or 11) with any package name.

Rear main

Rear macro

OxygenOS 11 + the "snapcam" package:

tl;dr: Best support on custom ROMs or OxygenOS 10. Less cameras work on OxygenOS 11.
No idea about OxygenOS 12 (will this phone even receive the update?), but on the OnePlus 9/Pro with the ColorOS-based OxygenOS 12 only the main front and rear cameras works.

I can confirm function range for Android 10 custom roms....
BUT: Front only 8mp, rear 12mp for custom roms....
Yes, it's the binned resolution. On these sensors, each 4 pixels are used as 1, so 48MP becomes 12MP and 32MP becomes 8MP.
12MP is also the default resolution on the stock camera, btw.
Ok. Didn't knew that. Why is there only binned resolution on custom roms?
It's the same on stock and custom. OnePlus is one of the many brands that restrict access to the full resolution and since custom ROMs still need to use the proprietary camera libraries, they have the same restriction as OxygenOS.
As far as I know, the only way to use the full resolution on OnePlus, Xiaomi, Samsung, etc, devices is with the stock camera app. 3rd party apps like GCam, Open Camera, etc, only get the binned resolution.
There was for a while full res with GCam on some OnePlus phones, but apparently it's a lot of work to get it to work and quality wasn't great.
Hi there,
have the same problem with the poor picture quality for every cam APP for the NORD
currently running build lineage-17.1-20211216-nightly-avicii-signed from official page
LineageOS Downloads
download.lineageos.org
The rom works very stable (great work) and i love Lineage OS - the only thing is the worse picture quality which forces me to change OS
Are there any custom roms without gapps ? only way to flash back to oxygen OS to get full 48MP access on main CAM ?
