The Flashtool v0.9.33.0 - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I'm using Sony Xperia Z3 D6653. Anyway, I still got this old phone and trying to flash custom rom. Somehow, there isn't any options for Sony Z3 D6653 on the Flashtool options. Anyone knows any solution?

I can't remember which flashtool version I used last, but that one was able to open Xperifirm and download a firmware for D6653. I recommend following the official LineageOS guide for the Z3. However, you need a dedicated build for the D6653, the latest Z3 ROMs won't work without patching them. I plan to post an unofficial build for the Z3Dual, just look at the recent LineageOS 17.1 Z3 threads.

Updating to 23.5.A.1.291 for Xperia Z3 D6653 (1288-4394)

Hey there,
I own a Sony Xperia Z3 D6653 (1288-4394 variant), and it looks like Sony forgot to release the 23.5.A.1.291 firmware update for this variant, which is kind of a bummer since they don't answer my emails.
My phone isn't rooted, and I was wondering if there's a way I can update my firmware without wiping my phone clean.
Thanks!
I own a D6605 with that firmware through OTA update.
Have you searched/selected the correct model at the Sony Support site?
I would recommend to look for it, and maybe specify my model number, and download it yourself.
At the supportsite theres also a tool which has to option to install this update (flash) without wiping your phone. Search this forum for details, as i'm writing this down from memory. They used this method on Z(1) and Z2 before.

If you don't see it showing up in XperiFirm you can always try this One listed HERE under "2."
Thanks
You can use "Commercial and journalists", "StoreFront" and "Service Exchange Unit" firmwares too in Xperifirm they are on Marshmallow. Don't come to cry if you bricked your phone by using downloaded firmware from the web...

I believe them to be reputable and I have used some of the firmware's on my other Sony devices without any issues or I would not provide any links.
As said it's always best to use XperiFirm but if your really stuck (like the server is down) then a mirror is always handy to have.

[SOLVED][Q] SO-01G, Flashtool, Global FW The bundle does not match the connected dev

Hello, Need your Help.
My device: Xperia Z3 (SO-01G) DOCOMO-LTE_23.5.B.0.368
Flashtool: Version 0.9.25.0 built on 17-06-2018 16:00:00
I'm trying to flash Generic Global FW to get rid of Docomo bloatware.
Unbranded Generic Global FW: D6603_23.0.A.2.93_Generic_20GLOBAL from '[FTF] Stock Firmware for Xperia Z3 D6602, D6603, D6606, D6653, D6616 Mega Collection by hyelton' thread.
Flashtool is giving me error: The bundle does not match the connected device.
Can you guys help, what am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
There's a issue on the latest version of flashtool. Try downloading the previous version of flashtool (0.9.18.6) from http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php
This version should allow you to flash the firmware. Revert back once you try this.
Sent from my Sony Xperia Z3 using XDA Labs

Sony Xperia XZ Premium F8332 Dual Sim Android 9 ROM

I attempted to flash my Sony Xperia XZ Premium F8332 Dual Sim with the Androxyde Sony Mobile Flasher to upgrade to Android 9, but it failed. I attempted to use the Android 9 ROM for the dual sim model G8142, release 47.2.A.10.107.
There does not seem to be any compatible "official" ROMs that will allow me to upgrade to Android 9 with this method. I'm also open to custom ROMs, TWRP, etc. I prefer to use Android 9 over 8 (minus bloatware) if possible, but close to stock.
Is there a technical reason that the firmware for Sony XZ Premium model G8142, release 47.2.A.10.107, would not work for this model?
I apologize in advance if this issue has already been addressed, but I did not find another thread that addresses this specifically. Thank you.

Well, in the first sentence you said you have an xz premium, but gave the xz model number.
The XZ never got a pie update, the XZ premium did.

Oh lord. I'm sorry. When I originally looked it up, it was shown as an xz premium.
