I HAVE BEEN USING REALME 2 FROM PAST 2 YEARS THERE HAS BEEN NO PROBLEM.
Few weeks back I heard about Custom rom.
And Now My mind says install it you will get good battery and performance
On the Other My other part of my mind says you will get bugs and you will brick it
I am totally terrified. Because there is a war going in my mind whether I should install custom rom or not.
Every morning I wake up I think about installing custom rom. I can't get rid of this thought.
I think I will go mad or something. Please Help me.

I'm curious if anyone else waits a bit before rooting. Just in case the phone breaks early on and needs to be sent back.
I'm thinking maybe wait 1-2 months?
Am I paranoid, or does everyone else do this too?

Personally I don't worry about that. I DO wait to give myself time to familiarize myself with how the phone functions and such before rooting so that I know when there is a problem, rather than second guessing.
It is also hard to tell if a Rom/kernel is running better when you have no base line to compare it to.
I rooted my phone almost immediately. I don't like using custom ROMs but I do like using apps and tweaks that require root.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
1-2 months??? I didn't even make it 1-2 hours. My phone was unlocked and rooted within 30 minutes of delivery.
I unlocked, installed TWRP, and rooted within 20 minutes of UPS delivering it.
I used to root and start flashing almost immediately. But as the years have passed and I've become more reliant on my phone for work and such, I've started pulling back a bit. I've reached a point where I just get too frustrated with even the slightest bugs so now I immediately unlock the bootloader (to prevent having to do a full factory restore later) and just use the phone as is until a fully stable ROM comes around that I feel comfortable flashing without losing any functionality at all.
This time around I'll probably stay stock with Nova Launcher (once the new 4.4 version is finalized) for another couple months. Time will tell though, I suppose.

Seeing as I have a Nexus device, with factory images provided directly from Google that will return my phone completely back to stock (except lock the bootloader), I usually don't hesitate to root or flash custom ROMs. The only reasons I haven't unlocked my bootloader yet is because CWM isn't completely stable yet (I don't like TWRP for some reason), and because my brother is debating on a Nexus 5 for his new phone, and I wanted to show him complete stock because he won't be a tinkerer. He'll be using the unmodded, unrooted bare stock image.
I rooted it out of the box yesterday.
Waiting myself. Want to get a feel for this device as is. Maybe later I will root/flash. But for now I am happy as is. No rush.
The important thing is you learn about the phone and how to root it and potential issues before you do it. I'm still waiting for my phone but the first thing I'm going to do is put a custom recovery on and make a nandroid. Then I'll root it as I have apps I like to use that require root. I'm not worried about warranty issues as it's pretty straight forward to put the factory image back on it and relock it.
Also, remember that when you unlock it you'll lose all your data and apps. And you'll need to unlock it to root it.
I booted, took the ota, unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP and Super SU as soon as the phone was in my grimy hands.
Rooted immediately after taking out of the box .. no point waiting...
I unlocked and rooted before activating. Not really planning on flashing any ROMs, but just wanted it done in case I needed to tweak cpu to increase battery life.
Just until you familiarize with your new device.
Just successfully rooting won't affect the end results when using the stock Rom. Everything should still work the same way but with more options for the user.
I jut waited until next day, but took time to play some games, make calls/texts, web browsing and tested all features. There I learned the battery life, Net speed and stock performance. Everything was the way should be Firmware/Hardware wise:good:. Then, unlocked/rooted/ & flashed its first Rom
and here we are!
I didn't even boot it. I powered it on in download mode, fastboot oem unlocked, flashed twrp and rooted. Then booted for the first time. I only rooted for tibu and adaway. Now just waiting on aokp.
I waited 4 days only and mainly because we have no stable recoveries yet. Twrp is a joke while cwm is not official yet.

Hello, I currently own a Samsung S8+. SM-G955F
It is still under warranty so it is all stock and official.
But I want to root it after the warranty period is over.
I do not want to risk even a single chance of bootlooping or bricking my phone, so I ask for 100% guaranteed success.
I would like to get TWRP as custom recovery and use Magisk systemless root. Tell me if that is possible. I do not want to harm my device in any way.
At last, I will not install a custom rom on my phone since that will cause thing I am not aware of. I would like it stock rooted.
Better no root. it is not worth it, if you do not want ads use Blokada app

I have installed Alexis Rom 6 and the phone is incredibly customizable and faster with better battery life than stock. It also comes with magisk preinstalled. It also has some mods like dolby atmos, which make a difference. My experience was really good, with stock rom the phone started to lag bad... I have followed this video to install the rom, from stock status. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_h10lUiUxE&t=294s
Alexis is a good dev. Many roms of him flashable. But root is not good for safety and security. Important these days. Custom roms always bugs and problems. And you destroy your battery with lots of flashing. As you read a lot of people have problems, losses imei number. S8 with android pie beta is gorgeous and runs well. good battery. New opportunities. download updat zip. go to stock recovery, update zip, wait, reboot. You will not regret

Thanks but like I said, I do not want to install any custom rom. Stock will do just fine for me. But I will think about it.
Hi All,
I received yesterday my Mi Note 10 PRO. I'm very satisfied with, all is really working fine and I like it. But I'm seeing that the battery maybe drains a little too fast (something already commented a lot and something I still need to keep an eye on, since I only have it for less than a day). From what I've saw this might be an issue with global rom (which is the one in my phone, a bit strange since I buyed it on Amazon Itally seller, who knows), but I saw a lot of people saying than moving to EU rom had fixed that issue. The thing is, I don't want custom recoveries, root or anything else, just in case I need to use the warranty, so I was looking for flashing the EU rom and after that close again the bootloader, but for that I'm gonna need to flash again the stock recovery, and I did not see it anywhere for download it.
Could someone upload it or tell me where/how I can get the stock recovery.img? From what I've saw for installing EU rom a custom recovery is a must.
Thanks!
hey all Im having constant niggly issues with A10 on my Oneplus7 pro and its starting to drive me nuts
things like dropping the wifi constantly even after resetting all wifi settings
google assistant suddenly stops working
fingerprint sensor becomes flaky
so i was thinking of installing a custom ROM if anyone can suggest one.
I assume I would need to root the phone to do so so would need some help witht that too
What do you recommend? I have a one plus 7 pro 5G EU version
TIA Bart
There are plenty of guides here on how to bootloader unlock, flash a custom recovery and then root your phone. Only 2 need to be done to flash a custom rom however that might not even be needed have you tried doing a full factory reset? Or doing a OnePlus recovery msm factory reload?
Edit: you hate nagging bugs don't go custom roms we got some great ones. Vibration and Haptics, Auto-Brightness and Vowifi issues but we tolerate them for customizability and improvements over other broken codes. So it's a duality.
Thanks for your reply
I've done a full factory reset about 6 times in the past 6 months.
Also OnePlus support did a full msm reset too
Which Rom would you recommend as there are so many to choose from?
And which 2 things are a must to flash a Rom?
You must be bootloader unlocked and you must have a custom recovery installed to flash a custom rom. There is no perfect custom rom it's all choices. Read the threads, listen to people. Read reviews, look at videos and pictures. Then take the leap and flash it, don't like it oh well flash a different one... WELCOME TO THE ADDICTION OF MODDING.
Thanks bud
Many moons ago I flashed a custom Rom for an s5 and used TWRP so hopefully proces not too different now.
