I guess there is no alternative to stock camera ? (That can handle camera motor + switch between lenses) ?
I hate that user interface where all modes can be switched only with this narrow text roll. Also user settings are so minimal.

Tried but it's the same style mode-change where swipe left/right until you find the mode you need. Also it lacks the flip camera control to other angles than 180. And it crashes when opening slow motion.

Switch between tasks with style and speed. Have you ever used the quick control feature of the Android browser and wished that you could use the same for switching between apps? Now you can with TaskUI.
Swipe your finger from an edge of the screen to activate TaskUI overlay. From the overlay you can switch between apps, end apps, and launch pinned apps. Task switching and more is right at your fingertips.

Dude! Hell yes please !
Looks exactly like Taskarou Launcher to me.
Test: it's actually pretty good, pretty small on tablets and the icons are too big but otherwise really nice.
Didn't know about taskerou. google really had an awesome idea with browser quick controls.
I can definitely add an option for size

Was that Google's idea? Didn't Microsoft have a similar idea with their one finger thumb keyboard.
can u add back, home, menu....!?
Thanks!
Who has thought of doing this, to fix what great lil ole sammy took away in the updates after kitkat?
Anyone interested, what all is required to make a full dual screen app that would allow us a camera and edge shutter button like in the kitkat firmware, it's crazy af that we have so many app's and camera's but none with or supporting a shutter button on the edge!!
So this is a roll-call for dev's and user's who are interested in bringing it back.

Anybody out there, I thought this was mainly a place of learning? LoL
The same people who brought you this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ehzstudios.quickcamerafornoteedge&hl=en are apparently working on one as they speak:

I've thought about just using the edge camera panel app they made and opening regular camera at the same time to get a preview of what you're shooting and aiming at.
I wonder if this would be of any help in making the camera work on LP and MM

It seems like the macro ability of this phone is not that great. I'm noticing that my Note 8 was able to get closer and take clearer shots. Is there some magic setting that needs to be set to get macros shots working correctly, or is it another case of it is what it is?
All lens has a fixed minimum focal range. That limitation is physical and by design.

I understand this. I just wasn't sure if there was something that I needed to set to get macro mode to work or if it is automatic.

Try the longest lens, and try adding a slight amount of digital image enlargement around 20% if no dedicated setting is present.
In the camera Photo mode, approach the object within an inch or two. At this distance, a "2x" will appear at the bottom left of the view image. See attached image. Touch the 2x and as instructed, back away a little until the instruction vanishes and the image is in sharp focus then take the picture. Note that this is not an extreme macro. The attached image is burred because it was captured before backing away.

Shouldn't the icons in the new Control Centre look a bit more closer to each other? Particularly the boxes for mobile data, wifi, bluetooth, and flashlight.
Anyone else experiencing this?

MIUI 12.08.
I'm on 12.0.7 Stable.
It sometimes look like your screenshot. After restarting it looks like this.
Your display size is set to XS.
This will mess up the Control Center.
Set it to normal and your control center will be back to normal.

I see. But I like the text on my phone to be this small. Should I just sacrifice the looks of the control center? Or will they patch this up?

I highly doubt this will be "patched" because I personally feel there's nothing TO patch here. They'd have to make designs for all the combinations of Screen + Font sizes.
I personally hate the Control Center because it has more useless information on it and a convoluted process to get basic things done as compared to regular old Quick Actions.
MIUI is basically trying hard to be Apple and implementing this Control Center garbage while completely forgetting that it is efficient on Apple because they have something called Force Touch.
I'm looking for the simplest app that allows me to turn HDR on and off. That option is not on Android 12, it's always on.
I don't need an elaborate app that does a whole lot of things.

Better than stock gcam.. you can turn off hdr and turn on hdr+
Also lot of modification.
Oh nice...ty!
Will that apk replace the stock app, or just add to it? Will I lose the highlight and shadow sliders?
I tried Open Camera. It lets you use their HDR or turn it off. I found no difference at all between their normal and HDR pics.
Their pics were just about as good as the native app, which has sliders for highlights and shadows, for precisely dialing in the exposure.

Not at all, it's a 3rd party app and it won't replace the stock camera. Btw i even found better one. Here's the latest version link -https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-MWP/f/dl23/
U will find manual control there, but for manual control u need to turn on hdr++
