[HELP] `Application Not Found` When attempting to request to write in SD Card - General Questions and Answers

I recently wanted to use my SD Card from my phone to record Shadowplay on the PC (for a day).
When I formatted it and went back to the phone, I found out I couldnt write on the SD Card with any third party apps (tested with samsung camera, My Files; works fine). And when it prompts me to give access, I get an `Application Not Found` error like shown in the screenshot.

-I first tried finding a setting in the app info and phone settings to no sccuess.
-Then I did a format and factory reset using TWRP, no even stock the phone had the same issue.
-Then I looked at the platform.xml file the phone had and noticed that the ` permission name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" ` was empty, so I edited it using the platform adb tools; But after doing so the file reset and the issue still persisted.
Attempts to format the sd card through the phone were also made; again with no success.
Im really out of options here and I cant use my phone normally like this.
My phone is a Samsung S7, rooted, but original ROM is kept; with latest TWRP and using Magisk.

[Q] Strangely bricked phone

Hello to everyone.
I have phone LG g pro 2 D838 made in Korea, that has strange symptoms. When it boots, appear screen with keyboard and input box with text ''Enter PIN/password to decrypt 30/30 attempts remaining". After I entered some code, it shows "29/30 attempts remaining, and no matter how many times wrong code is entered, still remains 29/30. Download mode working, and I try to flash latest stock rom 10f, but nothing happened. Then I try stock roms 10a, 10b and 10d, but still nothing. Next to the download mode, I have a recovery mode, in which there is no menu. In this mode, it is possible to access phone with ADB, but everything is read only, and system is not mounted. I can list folder contents, but I can't push or pull, and when i try to use shell, I get a message " -exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory", because system partition is not mounted. ADB Remount generate error " remount failed: Success ". I forgot to mention that every time when i try to flash stock rom, in box on phone display was written, in red letters, 'ROOTED'. I guess that unroot is not succeeded . Also suppose that possible solution is to flash some custom rom with recovery, but i can do that only if I have it in KDZ format. Does anyone know how to make a custom rom in KDZ format, or someone already has it? Does anyone know some other solution?

From what it looks like, you've encrypted your phone. That explains the password on startup and the unmounted system.
If you don't know your encryption password, you have a bit of a problem on your hands.
From what I know, there's no way to hack into or change your phone when it's encrypted.

In first, thank you on reply ,Turtle_Cookies.
If the phone is encrypted, it should be possible to reset it to factory settings. The user data is encrypted, so it would delete them and set to the default settings, and that should recover the phone. On the other hand, I can access to certain directories by ADB (like etc, sys), but can't change it. Am I right?
Same Issue
Did you found solution to this?

unable to flash anything in TWRP, SD card wont mount or show contents

Hi!
I picked up a Mate 8 from a local service provider and would love to flash a new ROM to get rid of the ugly stock one, but I am stuck when trying to flash anything from TWRP.
The phone boots fine, I unlocked the bootloader, and has TWRP Mate 8 version...I can't locate any files from the internal storage though. I understand this is due to the system being encrypted. I cant seem to get around that though. I tried the format data option, hit yes, then go back but that obviously has deleted what I had stored (the SU zip). I can't mount the SD either afterwards, to load it in recovery.
I tried using the Italian knife tool, and used the Root option, and option 3, but get an error: error: cannot load '.\rec\boot.img
I am not a pro on this so it might be something farely stupid. I would love if anyone could help me with this...

Edit:
I was able to solve myself. It was a rookie mistake. Perhaps the internal storage is encrypted, however I was able to flash SU using TWRP by inserting an external SD, which I had not done before. I was able to view contents from that location and did not need to use the Italian knife tool.

Are you using SuperSU ??
To delete system apps, download system app uninstaller from play store and grand it superuser permission.

I can't transfer files to my external SD card.

Hello,
I have a Nokia 3.1 phone running Android 8.0 Oreo. I am not able to move files from my internal storage to my SD card. Whenever I try to do this I get an error message that says: You must perform the certain steps to grant Samsung SD card card access rights. I click OK and do the steps but nothing happens.
I am trying to move video files to my SD card. I selected the file that I wanted to move, and then selected the “Move To” option. I then selected: Move to MicroSD, and I selected the Documents folder. And the following screen came up to move the file to:
> root > storage > 8881-1600 , and I clicked OK.

}
Then a screen popped up that said: You must perform the certain steps to grant Samsung SD card access rights. And I clicked OK.
Then another screen popped that said the same thing, and I clicked >.
Then another screen popped up verifying that I wanted to use the Documents folder and I clicked: Select.
And it sent me right back to the previous screen.
What am I doing wrong here?
Thank you

Resolving Bootloop has removed my Internal Storage

Yesterday I got all my root set up and working fine on my Redmi Note 9 Pro using Magisk (albeit without TWRP installed as I didn't know anything about it at the time) then I decided to install the Smali Patcher module with Magisk so that I could Spoof Pokemon Go with my son in the evenings. I created the module no problem, but when Magisk flashed it, my phone bricked and got stuck in a bootloop to fastboot. I eventually got TWRP installed and factory reset my phone in the "WIPE" menu, I used the standard Wipe that deletes user data etc then factory resets the phone. Everything seemed fine, I was able to set up the phone as per normal until after about half an hour I noticed none of my apps had installed yet. I went into the Play Store and most of had a "couldn't restore" error on them and clicking on one and trying to force it to install would come up with an error about insufficient storage space.
I plugged my phone into my PC to have a look and to be amazement, Internal Storage doesn't show up at all, only the SD Card shows. After over an hour, only one or two apps have successfully installed so I assume they are installing onto the SD card and that's why they are taking an absolute age to install. Most of the apps just flat out won't install so I can pretty much just make a phone call, that's it. Am i right in thinking I have corrupted my Internal Storage somehow and the OS is now isntalled onto the SD card? Maybe the Internal Storage has been formatted and not reallocated or something? How do I go about restoring my phone to how it should be ie 64gb Internal Storage.
I have tried restoring to factory settings again and it made no difference,

Reflash phone's original Stock ROM to get rid off of all the modifications you applied so far.
