Hi Devs,
This one is for you:
After having had some time with Mango on my HD2 to test and discuss with my wife, we decided to buy her a Mozart and upgrade it to Mango.
Only after doing so, we discovered, that music cannot be set as Ringtone. Please, do not tell me tales of all the little helpers used to create ringtones and sync them via zune etc.
I also have already found a nice App (easyRing) on the market, which lets one grab plenty of tones from the amazon mp3-preview store and set them as ringtones. nice idea actually.
But we are looking for an App, that offers the following 2 basic features:
- Pick a song from the Library on the phone, clip down to 39 or less seconds.
- Save as Ringtone/Set as Ringtone (actually this is two features, the first being a native mango command for Apps).
Anyone interested in developing this?
That'd be THE KILLER.
Actually i totally underestimated this feature. I never ever thought that this could actually be a buy/not decisive. My wife wants to get rid of the phone fast no matter what. the only way making her keep this is to have this feature available. She actually likes the OS. Weird, isn't it?
So, what's keeping you? Off you go kids!
The phones music library isn't accessible by third party apps so it's not possible right now.

Snickler actually is working on this already. His app r1ng3d is out for a while and has the features you find in easyRing. He is currently working on
Soon v1.2
* Localized strings.. I need translations for different languages. PM me.
* Ringtone creation on device (I freaking hope!)

wow. I have seen that app of Snickler but i didn't notice how close it came to my request.
Am gonna go check it out now. Thanks for pointing that out.
@Ren13B
And the library is not accessible by third-party apps? This is why? Where did you get this information from?
I am aware of this new command for Mango-Builds, "save as ringtone", as some MS Person pointed that out in a blog. Why shouldn't there be a way to access a song and apply that function onto it (i wonder).
[EDIT]
Since i have talked to Snickler and found out that he is working on just THAT feature i consider this threads purpose being served. unfortunately i haven't checked Snicklers R1ing3d before. Could have spared this thread.
So this just is a jumper to the mentioned thread. People looking for this function finding my Thread may want to go there. Have fun. Thanks for dropping by
Hello to everyone!
I've been learning to code for a while so to create my own application/software idea but the problem is that I found out that it isn't really my "area". The thing is I still got this awesome idea that I really want to be developed. It's pretty obvious that I'm not just yelling out what the idea specifically is...but... I need someone that:
1- Knows how to develop an app and release to it in "play store".
2- Good all-round(by this I mean can easily jump from one problem to a completely different problem)(I don't need a "programmer or nothing")
3- Well motivated and friendly.
4- This idea obviously needs some funding. I can do that on my own if you don't want to. Without a doubt the profits will be split between us (This will be later accorded when we meet up)
The idea basically is: Develpment of an alternative market. Come on read on... By market I don't mean Aptoid,Snappzmarket where people can steal software...It's a different market.
The idea won't make you a billionare! But it has an incredible amount of potential if done correctly...and that's where I need you.
I currently live in Italy but can travel anywhere in Europe without any problem.
If anyone is interested in this please contact me via PM. I'm relitively new to xda developers but I have been reading loads of great stuff on it so THUMBS UP XDA! I'm not posting my email address for SPAM reasons.
About a month ago I started learning Android development (long time web developer). The first thing I wanted to make was a todo app that approached things in my own way which is a bit different from what's out there already. Basically, focus on time (specifically right now, this next hour for example) rather than a bunch of lists, categories, tags, future future planning, etc.
I still have a few more things I want to add but I think it works well now and I'm looking for some alpha testers. You can search for 'do.now' in play store or If you'd like an invite please PM your email and I'll add you to the G+ tester group so you can access the test releases in the play store or search for "do.now" community.
Thank you.
I downloaded the app just there, and I look forward to trying it out. The store still states that there have been no downloads so far. I am excited about trying it out. I hope you can take the constructive feedback from the forum and implement it.
Thank you for contributing to the community.
Seems like this tool will absolutely work out in practical sense to make out the things. Hope this will have impeccable compatibility to work out with the tasks. Great job. Thanks for the contribution.

Hey XDA,
Longtime lurker, but first time poster here. I just launched my new app, Writeily Pro, this past weekend, and I'd love it if you guys checked it out and gave me some feedback .
Here's the Play Store link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.writeily.pro
If you like it, I'd also appreciate the rating to help give the app exposure! Also, the app is open sourced on GitHub here:
https://github.com/jffrymrtn/writeily-pro
And last but not least, I intended originally to charge for the app and make it paid. But a lot of my past Writeily (the original one) users said they'd rather it be free, while some said they'd donate if they could. So, I set up a separate "donate" version of the app, which is identical to Writeily Pro (except it's red). I just thought I'd put it out here since I don't have a link to Donate in the app yet, so if any of you would like to help out, here it is:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.writeily.donate
Let me know how it is! Thanks XDA
This is really neat, thanks! As much as I love Markdown, I'm wondering if adding other markup languages is planned (it might be out of scope if you consider Writeily a Markdown only app), such as reStructredText, which I find better than Markdown for longer documents?
The PIN setup needs improvement. No double entry to prevent typos?
When unlocking there is no mechanism to undo wrong entry. The only way is to hit enter and re try.
No scroll capability. Once the screen is full, it does not scroll up. Can't see what I typed!
Getting the same issue with the document not scrolling here. Don't get it on the non-pro version so perhaps it's something to do with the extra keyboard row.
It's a nice looking clean material app but would need Dropbox integration if it's going to make me switch from Draft which is my current editor.
Look forward to see where you go with it.

Thanks, but I'm talking about markup languages, not "spoken" languages.
Are you considering adding tags functionality? and filter with tags?
Thanks
it will be nice to make it that you can write note with stylus pen behind keyboard..
Writeily
just wanted to say thanks for the app & the hard work. I'm giving it a try. The reviews are great & can't wait to try it!

Interesting. I wasn't aware during testing, I'll file a bug and get this fixed for the next version. Thanks guys!

Thanks.
With tags, I could forget folders, or having to write a note in a specific folder or having to change it to a different one... I could even have two notes, with some tags in common and others not (impossible with folders).
Also, is it possible to do a bulk import/export and not just one txt file at a time?
Finally, about the added keyboard row (nice): it would be great if it were optional or hidden/unhiden with a swipe (it can take a lot of space on smaller screens, and sometimes you just don't really need it).
The preview function is awesome. Thanks for your app and work!
nice app,worth a try
thanks,
New update. Now I can scroll. Can I have the files sort by name? Please? Thank you

I have enjoyed using this app for many months, but was disheartened to see development discontinued. The timing is awkward: I just opened a GitHub account with intent to fork it once I learn my way around. On my hard drive, I've added many of the extra features I've long been waiting for: Tables, highlighting, LaTeX Math through MathJax, etc. But I'm not yet confident that I can use GitHub proficiently, since I've only signed up an account just a week ago.
Any suggestions how I should begin rebooting its development?
Hello XDA community !
I'm an Android developer, and I wanted to do a little application to try some new dev stuff. I had the idea of this app since I'm a little lazy sometimes and I needed motivation, so instead of working out I made an application to motivate me
The app is called DO IT!
With this simple application, you can add some objectives that you want to do every day, or at least the most possible (For example go at the gym, learn english...). And every day, you go in the app and check if you did it. You can also set a daily notification to remember to do it. You can also see when an objective was done in a calendar.
That pretty much it ! I still have a lot to do but I wanted to release a first version to gather some feedbacks and advices.
If you have questions (usage or technical) I'd be very happy to answer ! If you'd like to translate the app in your language you can also contact me. That would be very appreciated, and if you need I can translate yours in french too
The play store link : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ninebaguettes.doit
Downloaded... I'm a lazy sod too. Will check it out and leave some feedback once ive used it a short while.
Thanks.
Thank you ! Your feedbacks will be really appreciated.
I did some updates since last time. Don't hesitate to give me some feedbacks
Hello!
Again, I did some nice updates to the app. Now you also have the possibility to set an objective as weekly or monthly. I also added some nice animations. If you have some ideas of what could be next feel free to discuss with me! I'm putting a lot of energy in this app.
Hi!
I added a new feature that allow you to choose how many times an objective must be done in the week or month. Hope you'll enjoy it!
I updated the screenshots since the app evolved a lot since its launch.
Enjoy!
