Xiaomi Redmi 8, vertical short grey line after miui 12 update - General Questions and Answers

Hi, I just updated my Xiaomi Redmi 8 with Miui Global version (12.0.1.0 - QCNMIXM).
Everything's good except for a short vertical grey line (1 cm i think) that suddenly appeared close to the left upper side of the screen, after the version update.
Thing is, it appears on most of the windows, but when I switch to a 'deeper' screen - such as 'About Phone', 'Security Status' etc (which all have a white background) - no line appears.
There is nothing hiding it. That is, even when scrolling - the line is missing. But on the general 'Settings' page with identical background - it does (and on other apps).
So I think that rules out any physical screen damage (also my phone barely fell and never severely damaged in the year I own it), and it doesn't seem like dead pixels or something.
There are other strange phenomenons:
1)line is slowly going down with time, I mean at first it appeared slightly upper than it is now.
2) when I take a screenshot - the line doesnt show.... would
I have attached 'Miui Version' and 'Security Status' pages images without the grey line + Settings with grey line (shot with another phone) and same Settings page screenshot from the phone itself without the line.
Thanks for your help!

Open notes app choose the second menu from the vertical tab( gray square with a right symbol) on the menu open settings by clicking icon at the top right corner and uncheck use task toolbox
Enjoy

[Resolved] [Q] ADW EX - How change icon for a Launcher Action

I have ADW EX 1.3.3.8.
In previous versions, you could 'turn on" navigation dots which sat left and right of the dock. If you has 7 screens, and were on the center one, it would show
... dock ...
If you touched the left dots, it would move left one screen and show
.. dock ....
Touch again
. dock .....
I loved this nav facility and used it constantly, but it is gone in recent versions. Now there are Launcher Actions to "Go Previous" and "Go Next" to move screen left and right. You can put these on the left and right ends of the dock for moving the screens.
(But you no longer get the info of how many screens are to the left and right--they are just fixed icons)
Still, I would like to have dots there and have created a 72 x 72 px icon for it. But I cannot figure out how to use this instead of the standard icons for the two functions. I saw a youtube video which showed longpress on an icon to edit it, but that no longer works in my (current) version.
Can anyone tell me how I can "put in" (ATT Galaxy SIII) the icon I created and for it to be used in place of those two standard ADW ones?
Thanks.
SOLVED.
Guess I was too quick. After lots of fumbling, I found the 'edit icon' is now double tap instead of long press. Was able to get them changed to my dots icon.
Still, if anyone knows the ADW author and can influence him, it would be wonderful to get the old system back because it showed, by changing the number of dots, where you were positioned in the screens. It was an excellent system, and it would be terrific to get it back.
Good To Go, another solved issue.

[Q] Menu bar isn't showing up on Cyanogenmod

I got the latest Cyanogenmod version on my phone today and I noticed that apps that have the menu bar at the top right hand corner (the three vertical dots) don't have it anymore. For example, the Google Chrome app no longer has the menu and you can't do things like open an incognito tab.
Does anybody know if this is a known issue with cyanogenmod? Thanks!

Android 10 - keyboard issues

Galaxy S10e - no root
Android 10
Default Samsung keyboard or Gboard
I use my phone without the navigation bar at the bottom. I prefer to just swipe up from the left, middle, or right, at the bottom edge of the screen to perform those functions. Since the Android 10 update, whenever I go to the touch-hold menu at the lower right of the keyboard and move up to type a comma, question mark, quotes, etc., Android mistakenly thinks I want to perform the 'switch app' function. This did NOT happen in Android 9. Is there any way to fix this? Maybe a sensitivity option somewhere?
Thanks!

SMALL WHITE/GREY BAR LEFT HAND EDGE OF SCREEN

Hi all
Im a newbie, got the poco x3 NFC, and to say im over the moon is an understatement...finally i have a phone which does what it says on the tin (UK TV advert..sorry)
OK...left hand side of screen there is a small white, greyish bar (oblong) If I hold this, i can slide it up and down, but NOT into the middle of the screen it just slides up and down.
I long hold and nothing, slide up and down again nothing meaning nothing opens, or switches.
I did take a screen shot but IT DOESNT SHOW IN THE PHOTO
If I reboot, it disappears
also while Im here, on reboot or start, the poco logo appears but NO music...is there supposed to be music??
Thanks folks...its a great phone for the price...im MORE than happy
Settings = Type "Quick Ball" in the search bar. Enable/Disable/Customise it there.
All the best.

Question YouTube PiP mode stupid enlarge arrow

So this is my first Samsung in a long time and in the past (up to my Pixel 5a) the picture in picture always has a square like icon so you could tap right at the screen to go back to the app. This is extremely important for me when driving and using the nav. However I've noticed that this phone (as well as my friend's S20+5g) have a "enlarge" arrow icon in the corner. Maybe I'm just not used to it but it requires a much more precise touch and it is absolutely infuriating. Is this a Samsung thing and is there anything I can do to change it back?
