I got the latest Cyanogenmod version on my phone today and I noticed that apps that have the menu bar at the top right hand corner (the three vertical dots) don't have it anymore. For example, the Google Chrome app no longer has the menu and you can't do things like open an incognito tab.
Does anybody know if this is a known issue with cyanogenmod? Thanks!

I've googled it and got nothing.
Search this forum and not found it either
On Windows 8, if I scroll my mouse to the left/ left corner of the screen, I can see my current apps.
I can then close them.
With my keyboard connected I can do this on my surface using trackpad.
How do I do it without my keyboard connected?
I don't want to swipe them in, I want to see the icons of the apps I have running so I can close them.

you have to swipe in from the left a short distance. I don't own a windows touch device but did get a go on a display model, was kinda fiddly to get the distance just right, was probably about half the distance you need to swipe to switch apps. With some practise you should be able to nail it.

There's two behaviours for a short swipe in from the left. I believe the default one is to "swipe in" the last used app. Whereas what you want is to see a list of currently running apps (me too).
Go Settings>Change PC Settings and you're looking for a setting something like "App Switching">"When I swipe in from the left edge, switch between my recent apps instead of showing a list of them". In 8.1 that setting is under PC & devices, I can't recall if it's the same in 8.
The default way to do what you're asking is to swipe in from the left edge, then swipe back to the edge without releasing the swipe. It's a very quick and easy gesture easily made with the thumb; you don't have to swipe in more than maybe 1/4 of an inch (6mm) before swiping off the screen again to get he app switcher sidebar to appear.
To close the apps using touch only, you can do the following:
Drag the app from the sidebar off the bottom of the screen.
thanks, that's great.
Anyone know what caused this? I actually preferred swiping from the left in apps that are written that way. An example would be the Amazon app.
I cannot scroll to the right or come back to the left when I select "all apps". This is a change as somehow this selection was changed by me inadvertently. When I open "all apps" I can only scroll down and the matching letter appears on the right side i.e. A thru Z as I move my finger. Previously I swiped my finger to the left and a new app screen appeared. To go back I would scroll to the right. Now, I can only scroll down to see all apps. Changed something somehow and don't know how to get back.
Thanks in advance for the assistance. BC

What is it specifically you are talking about? Do you mean the app drawer in the Google Now Launcher? Because they updated it with a vertical scrolling app drawer now. There's no way to change it back.

It has nothing to do with "Google Now". When I select the icon at the bottom of the screen to bring up my apps, I used to be able to then use my finger to swipe left to access the next page of apps. Then swipe left again for the next page. If I wished to go back I would simply swipe right. Now, when I select the "all apps" icon at the bottom of the home screen I get a screen that only will scroll down with the corresponding alphabet letter on the right side indicating where you are with the apps. i.e. "A" android Pay, "C" for camera, etc. etc.

It has everything to do with google now, if you haven't heard latest update also changes the app drawer, google now and the corresponding launcher seem to be bundled in this update, if you want to go back to horizontal scrolling I advice you to download alternate launcher apps, which can be found out easily in the play store.

Thanks to all for the help. I didn't realize that a change had been made - without notification from Google - and the "all apps" had been modified. IMO I think it's stupid, but apparently Google doesn't. Thanks again gang. BC
I have a Nexus 5, Lollipop 5.1.1. Build LMY48B. Today suddenly the Menu orientation of my phone changed to Vertical one with a scroll bar on right side and the "Search App" bar at the top.
Earlier it was a normal left-right swipe menu. Now it is a vertical up/down scrolling menu. I don't know how it changed. There was no software update or anything.
Can anyone tell me how this happened? And is there a setting to switch back to the original left/right swipe.
Your launcher updated, check "recently updated" apps list in play store.
good day.
Thanx bro
Hi,
I am trying to remove the search bar at the top of my screen but for whatever reason it doesn't give me any options anywhere to do so. I don't have google installed. The search bar does nothing when I touch it. I can't move it around and long pressing the home screen in to the settings doesn't give me any checkbox to remove it from the screen. Very annoying and I just want it gone to at least use the space for something else.
Thank you
I have the same problem
Lineage 16, s4 mini i9195i
Any solution?

Is it not under Home screen settings?
I apologize for not closing this! It was fixed in a later build couple months back. No more issues. Thank you.
