Does anyone still have the tmo or unbranded Dash 3g ROM. I bought a Dash 3g on ebay and it has a beta build of 6.1 on it. A very rough beta at that.

Yeah, Build 21040 is beta build from T-Mobile Dash 3G.
Why don't you ask to T-Mobile site?
I checked tmo but no joy there. I thought I would ask here because SoCalSpecialist linked to it at the beginning of the post. Neither of them are still available though. I would be more than heppy (for now anyways) with the stock tmo rom. Like I said, the install on my phone is junk.
Thanks

Guys, do you have working links for the GRI54 radio?
I looked for it at this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=975105
But none of the links worked out.
Can someone post a working mirror?
Thanks!

Strange, I have the XXKB3, but with GRI40...
I installed this nandroid backup provided here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884093
The Nexus S is now stock and unrooted. But my baseband version is still: I9020XXKB3
What is the original baseband version for android version 2.3.1, build number GRH78 and how can I go back to it?
not sure why you want XXJK8.. XXKB3 has the best performance for most people but whatever here it is.
http://www.mediafire.com/?083o9f698mjzlkh extract to tools folder then fastboot flash radio radio.img using adb
Thanks
It is just that I wanted the nexus S to be completely stock. I dont know if I would receive OTA updates from google if I had baseband XXKB3? And I think the baseband XXKB3 is for the european version of Nexus S?

GRI54 is European. CM7 follows American.
So pretty much KB3 is a European radio, but they both work the same. Whatever is the best for you, use it. It's not a big deal.
This radio thing is getting confusing. I am in Asia which I think follows Europe more closely compared to US. But my Nexus is from bestbuy. I should be using the europe radio then?

I really don't think there's a difference between Europeans and Americans radio. The Nexus S works in predetermined frequencies for GSM (850/900/1800/1900) and HSPA (900/1700/2100) and that's it. So no matter where are you if your carrier support those frequencies the phone is gonna work. If it don't than you gonna have problems, probably you won't be able to use 3g per example.
Besides all this stuff is regulated and follows same patterns to ensure compatibility betweens networks so the same phone can work in several caries. That's the whole point about most phone are quad-band for GSM (more frequencies so it's more likely it will make calls) and tri-band for HSPA.

I once had an old radio, it played music in black and white, but when I thought about it, most music is black and white when you read it.

Hi,
How can I find the radio version installed on my phone?
Does the installation of CM7 updates the radio as well?
Thanks!

Yes, you have the latest (KB3).
Ithink it has nothing to do with CM7 because the radio is flashed separately, ok?

Yeah, CM7 doesnt replace your radio. You have to manually push it. Some ROMs may include KB3.

I don't think there's a difference between either americans or europeans models since they work on same frequencies.
I bought my nexus in England and used with O2, than I visited USA and used with T-Mobile and I live in Brazil and use it with TIM. He worked flawlessly in all above mentioned networks. All I had to do was pick the networks that used GSM and HSPDA frequencies supported by the Nexus chipset.
Anyway, I flashed the bk3 radio, so let's how he behave the next days. I was getting frequently reboots so far and all happend when I was using something controlled by radio... So fingers cross!

Do we all need this or does it only benefit the areas it was released to so far?

I flashed the radio and I have the best signal in my home I've ever had. I'm on L and with AT&T.
I'm in Australia and I feel no difference between KTU84P and KTU84Q lol
Just flashed it. Restoring data. In India .
Where is the radio located so I can back it up before trying this? What folder is it in?
sent from my nexus 5 rocking L
Thanks for the radio img. Didn't really want to download the whole factory image.
Flash via fastboot and seems to be the same performance as the L radio.. but still early days and I've only checked out the reception from my office and no where else.. but from my office, the reception always seems so bad.

It would be better to go to System and see what Radio you have first, then go to the radio thread in the General section and download the radio you currently have (Thats your backup).

The radio occupies its own partition separate from the system.

If the radio is worse then just flash the radio you were using previously lol

My Nexus 5 prompts me to download the KTU84Q OTA now when I'm not even on the network the "fixes" are supposed to be for, and I'm on a custom ROM lol what the hell
Flashed and I dont notice any difference so far. Perhaps the modem may contribute to better battery life. Flashed all stock wiped all data, restored from scratch, rooted and updated all apps.

IMO, it's not a new radio compared to Android L's! Android L's radio starts from "2.0.50.2.08" whereas this one's "2.0.50.1.17". I think google has just patched what was broken for some carriers using "2.0.50.1.16" as base and not android L's "2.0.50.2.08".
However, for people who were facing issues with 1.16 will surely face the issues on 2.08 (L) since the patch isn't included in it.
These radios do act in an unpredictable way all the time. For some KTU84P's radio works good while for other's android L's and so on.
I am using the L radio. Was having issue with the new 4.4.4 V2 update.
