Guys, do you have working links for the GRI54 radio?
I looked for it at this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=975105
But none of the links worked out.
Can someone post a working mirror?
Thanks!

Strange, I have the XXKB3, but with GRI40...
I installed this nandroid backup provided here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884093
The Nexus S is now stock and unrooted. But my baseband version is still: I9020XXKB3
What is the original baseband version for android version 2.3.1, build number GRH78 and how can I go back to it?
not sure why you want XXJK8.. XXKB3 has the best performance for most people but whatever here it is.
http://www.mediafire.com/?083o9f698mjzlkh extract to tools folder then fastboot flash radio radio.img using adb
Thanks
It is just that I wanted the nexus S to be completely stock. I dont know if I would receive OTA updates from google if I had baseband XXKB3? And I think the baseband XXKB3 is for the european version of Nexus S?

GRI54 is European. CM7 follows American.
So pretty much KB3 is a European radio, but they both work the same. Whatever is the best for you, use it. It's not a big deal.
This radio thing is getting confusing. I am in Asia which I think follows Europe more closely compared to US. But my Nexus is from bestbuy. I should be using the europe radio then?

I really don't think there's a difference between Europeans and Americans radio. The Nexus S works in predetermined frequencies for GSM (850/900/1800/1900) and HSPA (900/1700/2100) and that's it. So no matter where are you if your carrier support those frequencies the phone is gonna work. If it don't than you gonna have problems, probably you won't be able to use 3g per example.
Besides all this stuff is regulated and follows same patterns to ensure compatibility betweens networks so the same phone can work in several caries. That's the whole point about most phone are quad-band for GSM (more frequencies so it's more likely it will make calls) and tri-band for HSPA.

Yes, you have the latest (KB3).
Ithink it has nothing to do with CM7 because the radio is flashed separately, ok?

Yeah, CM7 doesnt replace your radio. You have to manually push it. Some ROMs may include KB3.

I don't think there's a difference between either americans or europeans models since they work on same frequencies.
I bought my nexus in England and used with O2, than I visited USA and used with T-Mobile and I live in Brazil and use it with TIM. He worked flawlessly in all above mentioned networks. All I had to do was pick the networks that used GSM and HSPDA frequencies supported by the Nexus chipset.
Anyway, I flashed the bk3 radio, so let's how he behave the next days. I was getting frequently reboots so far and all happend when I was using something controlled by radio... So fingers cross!

Definitely wouldn't at this time... I'm sure the partition sizes on the two devices are different, as was the case with the G2 and the Desire Z

Its looking really good. Stock Android 2.2.2 (Froyo) with T-Mobile bloat, but nothing we cant uninstall.
EDIT: It seems I cant connect to my Vodafone network. Everything else seems to be working.
EDIT2: Root is gone. See if Super One Click can bring it back...Yup got root back .

Hmm, my phone only reads LG-P999-V10f in the Factory Version part of settings. There was a screenshot in an different thread of the Factory Version being LGP999AT-00-v10f-TMO-US-MAR-27-2011. Now this one is LGP999AT-01-V10f-310-260-MAR-27-2011+0.
Does that mean there is 3 different versions of the firmware out there? If so I wonder if any have the 850 Band for AT&T available to select?

It is thought that it may take a modified baseband to make them accessible (although one post in the general section sounded like he received a SIM unlock code from TMO and was told to activate it with an AT&T SIM in the device).
Related to that, the flashing of the G2x Firmware on the Ox2 probably screwed up the baseband on it,as they use different bands. Someone on the Ox2 Forum did the reverse - everything worked but the network connections also
So I've gotten jelly bean installed on my Nexus S, granted I do have the Sprint i9020a CDMA version, I realize no radio was included, however, I flashed the latest radio that I had and JB doesn't see it, I used the i9020a version from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1784497
Is it just that there is a GSM version of the i9020a(didn't think there was) or is there something i'm missing, never had this problem before when flashing roms. Right now it says baseband "unknown". Which is telling me the ROM is only looking for a GSM radio I take it.

i9020A is gsm (the only diff with i9020T is the 850MHz for 3g). there was never an i9020a cdma version. maybe you;re confusing it with nexus S 4G (D720)?

Oh I see, well no I had read that 19020a was Sprint only, didn't know there was a GSM variant :/
So if I flash an AOSP version over this will it be ok? or should I just wipe and start fresh to be safe?
isn't the i9020a an att gsm phone? OP, remove your battery and tell us what it says on the phone itself. I'm thinking, along with others here, that you have the ns4g (d720).

Well, I did that and everything is good, however for some reason Google Play Music, refuses to see my music, and Settings refuses to see my ringtones, etc from the sdcard partition
edit:yes i did a full factory wipe when I installed as well.
I would start by looking through the thread of the rom you flashed. Sounds like you may just need to fix permissions or possibly wipe & reflash

Well this is ROM i'm using, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1763781 and so far I'm not seeing any issue with that. I've done a fix permissions thing, I'll try a reflash and see if that does the trick, not gonna get my hopes up tho...
Edit: Well I've went back to my 4.0.4 version until things get straightened out...to many bugs to work with in these JB ROMS.....
I recently purchased a Nexus S (M200) and I am experiencing very low Wifi and GSM signals. In fact, it's so low that I can't even make calls from GSM when indoors and need to get outdoor to get fair signals. Similar issue is with Wifi and I have to be within 10 meters to get a stable Wifi connection.
I have tried various roms and kernels but the problem remains. Even went back to stock gingerbread rom and the same problem. Any suggestion to get this fixed? Seems like a hardware issue and my phone is not under warranty!
Help appreciated.
I experienced the same thing on Cyanogen 10.1 nightly but when I was on stock 4.1 it was ok.
Maybe it's your provider which don't have a good network where you are.
I am sorry for my english I hope you will undrstand me.

You should get the most recent baseband (radio) firmware update for your model of Nexus S. If you search the forums, you should be able to find a thread all the basebands linked. Be sure to only install the one for the model you have, because the wrong one will not work.
