Is it posible to move backups between PCs?
I mean if I backed up my phone in a pc at home. Can I restore it from
the pc at work if I just copy the files from that folder.
Everytime i hit the update it tells me my software is up to date. I dont get the screen where i get the option to restore.
Not sure what the string is could you tell me more about it cause i dont have appdata.
look in Folder Options and click the box to show hidden files, that will give you access to appdata
Everytime I install a new rom and reboot, apps start automatically installing. This is without me even installing titanium backup first.
The reason this is a problem is because I still have to go back and reinstall every single app to get it to show in my installed apps area in the market, so I won't get update notifications unless I reinstall the app first anyways.
Its obviously not titanium backup doing this because it starts doing it even before I install titanium from the market. What is doing this? Its freaking annoying.

Just skip the google set up and do not sync any data yet upon initial boot up when flashing a new ROM. If needed you can manually input your wifi info if you need that to connect. Normally I skip all that stuff and then just use titanium backup to restore app+data ONLY and do not restore system data. This may corrupt your phone in a way that you'll need to restore your nandroid backup.
Like kpjimmy said, just skip the google log in from the first set up page that you see when installing a new ROM, then go to Menu>Settings>Privacy and place a check mark in the 'Back up my data' box and remove the check mark from 'Automatic restore'. Now you can log in on your google account from 'Accounts & sync' and your done.
Thanks guys.

I bought Titanium Backup Pro and have a key.
However, whenever I flash a new ROM, all my apps start coming back. If I try to install the Key from the Play Store, it gets pushed under everythign else and downloads at the end.
I tried the option in Titanium Backup settings where it copies Titanium Backup as an update.zip to the sd card, but that only restores the regular, FREE Titanium Backup app, without the key.
So my question is: How do I restore the Titanium Backup Pro Key on my first boot into a new rom, without installing any of the other apps I previously had? (I prefer to restore everything with Titanium Backup, rather than letting the Play Store do it)
Thanks for reading
When you flash a new rom uncheck keep this phone backed up with my google account. That is not exactly how its worded but its in the initial set up.
REplY
You should have installed MY BACKUP ROOT before flashing the new rom

I do the following steps:
before installing new ROM,
I first back up all apps using Titanium Backup. I ensure that I back up the Titanium PRO app as well.
Then after installing the new ROM... i do the following:
after signing into the phone - I go to play store and stop all downloads and install Titanium Backup free.
when I run the free version it automatically registers the PRO version as it is backed up in it.
then I can restore all other apps using Titanium back up PRO.
Let me know if this was helpful to you.
Yeah I figured it, what I have to do is sign in from my account but uncheck the boxes for backing up accounts and restoring to the phone. Then I just download both the program and its key from the market. Thanks!

I I wish there were more tutorials about the TB pro....
Reply to your question
I hear dev support is pretty good (never had to contact him/her/them myself though)
because when applications freeze, then thaw and then I said: application not installed
I leave the option to keep my phone baked up to my account when I flash a new rom, but always uncheck the first option that says something to the effect of "restore from my account". Then I grab tb from the play store, unless the rom has a baked in file explorer, since I keep a copy backed up in my storage.
Installing my backup root prior to flashing a new rom will do absolutely no good if you wipe data.

You guys are unchecking the 'backup to google accounts ' box, but can you check it again, later on? Because I do want my stuff to be backed upwith google as well.

I always leave the backup to Google option checked, but always uncheck the restore from Google option.

Oh. That makes sense!

You dont have to uncheck anything, as soon as the phone gets to the homescreen just go to the play store and stop the downloads just takes a click. Keeping google restore checked you will have your contacts back as soon as you boot up.
Contacts will restore whether the restore from Google account is selected during initial setup or not, as long as contacts are allowed to sync with your account.

I see I didn't know that.

Titanium PRO and RUU Europe_3.14.401.27
I installed stock ROM Europe_3.14.401.27 and rotted via HTC, but Titanium pro tells me "NOT ROOTED"
Tried the recommandations like wipe, use rcm set privileges, no prevail,
Anybody has new ideas?
Solved the problem by installing openrecovery-twrp and than in recovery mode CWM-SuperSU-v0.99
Now Titanium Pro works
TB not restoring apps
Hello, before I installed Pac-Man 4.4, I made a backup with TB. Ported them with usb to my desktop from the computer. did a full wipe. flashed pacman 4.4 and gapps. then i installed tb from the play store, also pro version, then ported the files back from computer to tb file, opened tb and want to choose restore but there are zero apps to restore and normaly there are 350. Some help is welcome thank you.

Does anyone have the latest version of Shazam Encore (Paid) version working on the GSIII? I believe it is 3.11.1. I'm using Synergy ICS r-64 and the app just says connection error right after you launch and it says "Setting up Shazam."
The update just released was supposed to fix this issue but it hasn't for me. If you must ask, "Why Shazam and not Soundhound?" The answer is that Shazam works much better at identifying electronic music and DJ remixes and the like for me.
I just used it a few hours ago to test the new TV/Movie ID feature, and it worked beautifully. CM10.
No solution from me, but it is happening to me as well. I'm just stock rooted
Running Synergy r73 and it works fine.
[GUIDE] Shazam Encore - How to Fix!
After an hour of messing around with the application data folder and databases and Titanium Backup I have found a way to get this program working. This is the only way I have figured out how to get it working so far and may also work with the free version. This is more of a band-aid than a complete fix, but you will be able to use the app as long as you don't clear the data. By the way, what we are fixing here is the "Could not establish a connection (ftu.ope)" problem when launching the app, which seems to be common with TouchWiz ROMs and a few Sense variations that I've seen. This process should be adaptable to any device. Someone with a bit more knowledge on how Android applications work may wish to discuss my theories on what is actually going wrong here. But anyways...
Basically what we are doing is installing a fresh ROM, activating Shazam (or Shazam Encore), creating a backup with Titanium, exporting it to the SD card, and then nandroiding back to your original config and importing the backup. If you need directions, those are below, and it couldn't hurt to check them out real quick anyway even if you know what you're doing.
DISCLAIMER: Don't mess up your device! If you think you need help, ask before you try this!
Requirements:
-Rooted with a custom recovery
-Titanium Backup (possibly the paid version)
-Some time to kill
1. Delete Shazam Encore completely from your phone using Titanium Backup or the Application Manager in Settings.
2. Make sure you have used Titanium Backup to create a backup of something so that it saves its preferences and your Android ID. If you haven't backed up everything, maybe you should . The Android ID is automatically saved with your backup if you have not changed that from the default settings.
3. Download a ROM for your device and put it on your SD card, preferably something of a different flavor than what you are using now, although the same ROM might work.
4. Reboot to Recovery
5. Create a full nandroid backup of your device.
6. Do a fresh install of your ROM of choice according to its instructions.
7. Boot the ROM, log into your Google account, and use Play Store to install Titanium and your Pro Key if you have one.
8. Open Titanium Backup and it should prompt you to restore your Android ID. Yes, you want to restore it, and then your device will reboot immediately.
9. Download Shazam (Encore) from the Play Store and run it. It should load up and work just fine. Once it is set up, exit the app.
10. Use Titanium Backup to manually make a backup of Shazam under "Backup/Restore."
11. Once the backup is made, long press Shazam under "Backup/Restore" and select "Send latest backup..."
12. Select "App+Data (Easy Import)" and "save file locally" (top option) on your SD card. Note save location to avoid headache.
13. Reboot into recovery and restore your nandroid backup.
14. Clear the cache and dalvik just to be safe.
15. Reboot, and once your phone is up and running, use a file explorer to launch the Shazam Backup file you exported (something like com.shazam.android-xxxxxxxx.TiBkp) and open it with Titanium Backup,
16. Select to restore App AND Data.
17. Shazam should now work.
Post your success (or failure) here so I can make any edits/improvements as necessary.
Enjoy!
I have a backup of my samsung galaxy s6 active on my computer...I have two files actually, one that says "samsung" then "smart switch" then another folder that says "SM-G890A" then opens to all my backup categories. The problem is I no longer have the phone only my backup and my new phone is a google pixel. I can seem to restore it. I actually just wanted to view the backup first then select what I want to put on my new phone. Is this possible on my pc running windows?
