Hello,
Buying the 8T in place of the Pixel 5 I knew I had two flaws to cover.
1. The Google Camera which is obviously done by one the many ports out there and
2. The wireless charging.
For the latter, is there a manufacturer who does a Qi adapter to be placed in a specific cover with a carved placing ? That would be it!
Also, I tried a 10W adapter bought on Amazon. It was indeed charging at a 10W "speed" but I couldn't let the phone on the wireless charger the whole night like I was doing with my iPhone Xs. It was buzzing and hot as f***. So I returned it. Maybe a 5W could be better ?
So a software switch could be the thing to disable it. Or a couple made from the adapter and the wireless charger ?
I think all available models are far from what is available when the charging coil is integrated inside the phone.
Any ideas ?
Does my question really interests no other 8T owner..?

I'm intersted in buying this adapter because I already have a Nokia car charger and I'm not intersted in buying another LG car charger (I'm using the Nokia one too and I don't like having two chargers in the car); my question is: will it work? And will I be able to use this adapter to charge my LG with a Nokia AC charger?

I think that adapter is compatible. I seen it work on nokia e52 and E5. Also i used the original E52 charger on optimus one and it worked just fine. Cheers!
You can buy almost any car charger, but, in order to have fast charging (in LG, Nokia, Samsung, etc.) the specs for the car charger states that the data pins are linked.
Something that isn't required on apple products. So take notice.
I have bought a car charger for iphone, but, only after linking the data pins with some soldering it started fast charging my phone.

Don't do that...trust me it works without any linking...probably you will damage your port. Iphone has a proprietary port unlike OO which has standard microUSB. So any certified charger will do just fine.
Obviously I disagree.
You can read the technical documents (MoU regarding Harmonisation of a Charging Capability for Mobile Phones, google it), look more carefully to the section7.
"The EPS shall short the D+ and D- lines with a resistance not greater
than 200 ohms."
Said this, I also believe that if you buy a proper certified device it is the perfect option, unfortunately I see a lot more product choice for iphone then other brands.
For instance, I first realized about the short when I bought a PowerBolt™ Duo Car Charger from Kensington, I said to myself, great!! 2.1 A and another 1A USB plug, I will be able to charge anything.
But when I first connected it to my phone, it was charging alright!!, but Slow charging, only after some investigation I found why, the PowerBolt didn't had the Data pins linked together, and the phone limited the power drain.
using original LG charger with a Nokia or HTC micro-USB cable, the display indicates "charging" but the battery percentage doesn't increase...why?

Wireless Charger
Could you tell me what the benefits are when using this wireless charger compared to the regular charger? I've seen some videos about it and, to me, it looks pointless having a wireless charger, which is in fact, wired. The only difference that there is, or so I think, is that you don't have your phone directly connected with the charger via micro usb cable - you put it on the "plate", which is wired to the charger itself and you charge your phone. What I'm trying to say is that either of the chargers limit you by the cable and I don't see the "wireless" in the wireless charger. All it does is save you a second to unplug your phone. Again, that's what I think. Your opinion may be different and that's why I'm asking you to tell me the benefits
a) You can place your phone down and charge it without searching for a cable that's slipped down the back of furniture
2) say you run a café - put these on the tables to allow customers to charge and stop them plugging random ass chargers into your sockets
III) It's a fad, but freaking cool - WIRE LESS charging. Sit and think about that.
Also, it's on a mobile phone, so saying it's pointless is slightly hypocritical as it's attached to a device that's USP was not needing to be plugged into the wall
Thanks just ordered one of the Qi Mats. Pemda obviously hasn't had any failed leads or charger ports. Im on my 5th or 6th lead with my M9, all fail after a while.
On my m7 i have had 3 new charger ports fitted by HTC, no worrying about the charger port on my lumia
I've seen a lot of people say that the best Qi charger to get right now is the ones that's "CHOE upgraded" but I haven't been able to find out exactly what that means. What's different between the CHOE ones and the earlier Qi chargers? I heard some people say it has something to do with the manufacturer being better, is it just built more solidly?
I'm thinking of getting a wireless charger and start using that, but I'm worried about charging efficiency (or lack-there-of) or excess heat harming my battery. So I'm wondering if the CHOE chargers are noted for being more efficient than the average. Saving damage on my micro USB from constantly plugging it in won't do me much good if a year down the line I've ruined the battery.

There are good and bad qi chargers, look at the amazon reviews for the one that most suits you.

Most chargers have the induction coil (The thing that sends the power to the phone) in a fixed location, meaning that you have to put the phone in a precise spot for it to charge. The Panasonic charger has a mechanism inside that detects where your phone is on the charging pad and moves the coil to the phone so you don't have to fiddle with moving around the phone to find the sweet spot where the phone charges

Little bit expensive, but it works great.
I ordered this for my Nexus 5. This wireless charger worked amazing with it. I think it's perfectly suited at the bedside or office. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to buy a great quality product.

As for bedside use, I'm more into their wireless charger with lightning sensor, as the light can go off in the dark.

Does it really make sense to get a single coil or three coil? The coils effect the coverage of wireless charging area but do not effect the speed of charging, am I correct?
3 coils charger can charge with a wild area, nothing about charging speed.

Has anyone tried to use the Samsung wireless charging back with a phone case and had it work? In other words, how much "stuff" can be between the coils and the receiver and maintain charging ability and speed?

I use it with the flexible TPU case. It works fine for me, no problems at all.
In fact, it even works for me with the Wireless charging SView case flipped back and placed between the charger and phone. That definitely leaves some gap between the phone and the charger.
What case are you thinking of?
If you're not in a hurry, it's worthwhile to keep an eye on chargers on eBay. I picked up a Keedox folding 3-coils charger for less than $20 (normally $35+) with a well-timed bid, and it's excellent. I also picked up two plastic Chinese 3-coils charging stands for $20 each. Those aren't as good, but they're good enough for my old S3 on my nightstand and my wife's S4.
I do NOT recommend getting charging receivers on eBay, though. Every one I tried from eBay failed within days. I ended up replacing them with receivers off Amazon.
How's the speed though? Been wanting to get a wireless charger but the thought of me waiting for a long time for it to charge is a turn off.

It's slower than wired charging, of course, but when do you charge your phone? If you charge it overnight, then speed doesn't matter. And if your wireless charger is on your desk, it charges every time you set your phone down. That beats the pants off "Doze" in Marshmallow.
If you need a quick charge, just unplug the cord from the charger and plug it into your phone. I never need to do that, myself.

Does anyone know if such a thing exists ? It seems that the only magnetic wireless desktop chargers are for iphones and hence seem to top out at 7.5w. I have bought: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08S6XQFDM Which allows you to sue magnetic wireless chargers, but I'd like to get one that can utilise the 25w charging capability of my new Z Flip 4.
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated !

As far as I can see in the available specs, the wireless is up to 15W and this is something that I'm actually seeing (without the actual current measurements, just perceptibly) - the phone seems to charge quicker on my Samsung 15W QI charger than the Flip 3, which supposedly had 10W wireless charging. The brick for that charger is also 15W, so it seems legit.
I'm using a generic 15 Qi watt wireless charger from Amazon. Was dirt cheap, Did not come with wall plug. Using a generic 25 watt charger (same specs as Samsungs wired charger) my phone reports charging from about 12 -14watts. Charges up quick. Why the 25 watt? The old wall plug I was using was 10 or less and would take all night to charge if 35% or less left on battery. So if you use Qi 15 watt wireless, just make sure your wall plug is up to speed.
PS that free flip case they gave out with the strap and metal lug will not allow wireless through it. Case and strap too thick. Probably why they are dumping them for free.
Yeah, the rapid wireless charging is the thing I will miss most about the Pixel 6 Pro.
