Update: This forum is for the Mediatek versions only.
For Snapdragon versions you need to go here: Snapdragon
It will still be useful to ensure thread titles state the Redmi Note 3 version [Snapdragon] or [Mediatek] as the software is not interchangeable and people can arrive at these threads without realizing whether they are in the Snapdragon or Mediatek forum.
Thank you to tech mashido for helping me clarify the versions listed below:
Redmi Note 3 has two Versions/Editions:

In need of some help! Please!!
My friend gave me his sm-j700h/ds, it fell into the water and drown, now its in bootloop, so i downloaded the firmware xsg-j700hxxu2bpf9 mm 6.0.1, and flash via Odin 3.12.3 which completes successful with pass. It then restarts to installing system update, then into recovery with error unable to mount /efs dm-verity verification failed. Tried to do a factory wipe but all with error unable to mount data, unable to mount cache, unable to mount storage. Flashed twrp 3.1.0.0 and any wipe ends with the same errors, in the advance repair option only the system partition shows an actual size, everyone else is 0. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
Is that 3g ang Lte option software based or hardware based? I meant if I flashed custom ROM having 4g option in 3g model(J700-H) will 4g work?

Hi, describe the problem.
Same problem as me. If we change baseband j700h to j700f or j700m, can voLTE be used? I volunteer to test if there is Baseband j700f. Anybody have a Baseband j700f share link I will do.

No. The 700h does NOT have an LTE radio chip. So flashing a rom that supports 4g WON'T magically make your fon 4g capable.

Is there a way (root/mod) to force carrier aggregation on MTK devices, specifically Helio P70.
I have umidigi f2 and trying to have 4+ plus on band 28 and 3
There is not known way to enable Carrier Aggregation on Mediatek but there is way to collect log information if there is any Carrier Aggregation combinations defined to modem firmware.
https://cacombos.com/contribute -> Mediatek have instruction to get log. If you submit log to site, it's possible list your device combinations so then know if any CA supported.
Thank you @olkitu

Post your CPU and GPU frequencies, DO NOT POST IF ALLREADY SOMEONE WITH THE SAME MODEL AS YOU HAS POSTED FREQUENCIES FOR THAT MODELYou can use Apps like SMART PACK to view frequencies and other speeds of components
Hello everyone,
Sorry, do you have idea to unlock LTE bands on MTK (MT6739) device using NVRAM file and hex editor ?
I have nvram file and want to enable LTE band1, and 29.
i found this post, but not same for me:
[Q] SoC based Universal Tool to unlock LTE bands
This a question/project suggestion for devs. All newest models of most popular mobile CPUs, such as Snapdragon, Exynos, MediaTek and Kirin have onboard LTE modem, which supports worldwide LTE - all 41 frequency bands. It pisses me off to no end...
