Good question. I only boot it when I was testing it. Now i don't use it. Also it won't boot on A11. Happy modding!

Thanks. I wanted to try out different custom rom. I think I need TWRP, right? I'm still Android 10.
If I only want root, i think i don't need TWRP.

You don't need TWRP for anything really. Fastboot to install ROM and magisk. Happy modding!
If you are on Android 10 you can safely flash to both slots.

Any recommendation on a touch-based custom recovery?
I recommend latest Clockworkmod 6:
http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.1.0-crespo.img
But personally i use TWRP. The link is on my signature. It's just user preference.

CWM Touch cost money. If you are willing to pay then get CWM touch but if not get TWRP. Me personally, I prefer TWRP over CWM but it is all on you.

Can you provide the source where it's stated that CWM Touch is for sale?
Because as far as i know, it can be directly downloaded for free in here: http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
Correct me if i am wrong.

It's free, but if you're a beginner and you try to flash CWM touch from within ROM Manager you will need to buy ROM Manager Pro. Just a way to make a bit of money if you're not wanting to flash it "manually" with fastboot or similar.
Hello guys,
I wasn't pretty active here for a year but when the latest preview came out it changed. I was wondering that people only mentioned TRWP Recovery to install but not CWM. Does this have a reason? Is CWM not compatible to the L stuff/did the dev stop developing the recovery?
I installed TRWP then but I really don't like it, it takes ages to start and I really just prefer using my volume keys and stuff to navigate through CWM without touch.
Did gave this one a short search but it was a mess finding something.
Thanks for answers.

Official CWM is antequated. It hasn't even been properly updated to Support Android Jellybean 4.2 (Which was HOW long ago???). The Dev pretty much abandoned it, leaving it to an unruly band of muppeteers to maintain, so I would suggest you avoid Official CWM at all costs
Oh damn, so there is only TRWP left, or is there some other I don't know about yet?

The problem with Philz is that it is no longer maintained so although in my opinion, it is much better than TWRP and CWM, it won't support encryption, which L will enforce by default I believe so I would have to say use TWRP

And as just mentioned above, no more support - so future functionality will not be added.

That said, I think L encryption has possibly changed. Not sure TWRP world with latest L encryption yet.

Its a fully touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.
Working:
Decryption
USB
Wiping
Fastbootd
Touch
ADB Sideload
Formatting Data (Sometimes it errors out after wiping data but it can be fixed by rebooting and trying again.)
Toybox
Not working:
Vibration (Low priority)
SD card (Should be possible to mount it manually for now)
Download: Android FileHost
Device tree: android_device_lenovo_J716F
Kernel: Using prebuilt kernel, Lenovo hasn't yet released the source
How to flash to your current slot:
Unlock the bootloader
Reboot into bootloader:
Form powered-on state: adb reboot bootloader
Or from powered-off state: Hold Power + Volume Down
Flash recovery: fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.6.0_11-0-J716F.img
Reboot to recovery: fastboot reboot recovery
Done!
Good work
Will you be working on any ROMS in the future..or do you use a GSI?

For now I'm using the GSI, but I do want to eventually port LineageOS to it (I have only little experience so this could take a long time). I'd also like to get mainline Linux booting on this tablet, since SD865 is supported in Linux and SD870 is an overclocked SD865.
EDIT: I've been using the GSI for some time now and the performance is great. I'll try looking into the issues the GSI has because if the GSI works good there's no need to make a new and seperate LineageOS port. I would need to learn how to do that first though so it can take some time.
Thanks for this! Great we're getting some custom development!!
excellent
Good work! Best of luck sir!

No, only TB-J716F. That model uses an entirely diffrent SoC.
It cannot recognize the TF card. Can this problem be fixed later? In addition, system and system cannot be mounted when switching to partition B_ Ext and other partitions, which is a relatively perfect work

I have no problems mounting the partitions under slot B, although I kinda bricked my A-slot (Not related to TWRP) but before that both worked fine.
For the SD card, you should be able to mount it manually until I fix it.
EDIT: Now my slot A is fine but B is broken?

Lineage OS 11?
I ask because LineageOS/CyanogenMod has a weird version numbering system that throws folks off, so are you referring to LineageOS based on Android 11 (less likely) or LineageOS (formerly CyanogenMod) 11, which is based on Kitkat?
Anyway, asides from that, you're most welcome (on TWRP) - that recovery, and the current work on custom ROMs here has given some life to a rusty-ass, ancient tablet by 2022 standards haha

Alright I finally rooted my Google pixel 6a using the pixel flasher and it is a really nice tool. My problem now is this phone isn't supported on the twrp app.and I don't remember seeing the option to flash twrp from the pixel flasher. Any advice on where and how I would go about getting a recovery installed? Thanks

Pixel devices do not have dedicated recovery partitions, as Samsung devices do. The recovery kernel is in the boot image.
There is no need to flash TWRP on a Pixel device. If you want to use it, you can live boot it, but for the most part it's unnecessary because we can flash partitions directly from bootloader.

You have to flash it with fastboot mode and stock or lineage recovery.
ROM's are flashed either via fastboot or as an OTA in recovery.
I decided just to wait for a twrp recovery to become available and started working on my xt2131-1 and OnePlus Nord device again.
