AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Android Lollipop, the ROM has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we became LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP and then changed to be based on the "Ground Zero Open Source Project" (GZOSP) for Android Pie.
We changed again for Android Q-R with a base of AOSP repositories and some additions from LineageOS for device specific repositories.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out, if it concerns our code base. This ROM isn't LineageOS supported, so there is no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.

FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look here to see what day your device is built on.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels officially?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP. Custom ROMs modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROMs. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. Information about Xposed, EdXposed or Riru Core can be obtained from the XPosed General forums .
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the flashing instructions...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, this is the usual behaviour on flashing a new official build by (or using) the build-in updater service.
Q. How do I 'dirty flash' builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot" as the destination, then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash and reboot afterwards.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?
A. Read this
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat AND the model name. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.)
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the others section in the AICP Extras main page.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android R. You don't need to install any Add-ons, simply download the latest ROM and GApps, then follow the flashing instructions and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup (or with any backup/restore app) as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug, restoring regular apps is fine though.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash for the first time:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know!)
1. Wipe data, cache, dalvik
2. Flash ROM and GApps
3. Flash Magisk
4. Reboot into system
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk

First AICP R (Android 11.1 / Aicp r16.1) build for raphael.
I hope by now you guys know your way around Android and know how to flash already along with some knowledge on what vendor to flash.
FOD Animations and a selection of icons are available including AICP's fod icon as well.
You can select what FOD color you want, currently available: White, Cyan, Green, Yellow.
Screen-off FOD is available, but if it doesn't work for you out of box you'll have to enable it through AicpExtras -> Lockscreen.
Bluetooth qti stack is also supported, means you get to use LDAC and more of them Audio Codecs if you want to, of course depends of the headset.
Most of the open commits from Gerrit are included as well.
I have labeled it as "EXPERIMENTAL" because it needs some testing, although to be honest i think is stable enough and responsive.
Bug status:
I'm terrible at finding bugs.
Without further ado, here it is.

No volte for you bhai
Amazing! Finally new development for this phone
For some reason, LineageOS is stuck on a 2 month old security patch, so the development scene has been kinda dusty... Great to see work being done for the K20 Pro ^_^

no radio
it works after a reset
So I lost all my data trying to boot into 16.1 for K20P , forgot about encryption and had to format data without taking any backups . A bit of overconfidence from my part.
It'll take a while before I setup my phone but 3 issues I faced so far
*edit*
1) Advanced reboot to recovery reboots to fastboot giving mini heart attacks.
2) No option to hide the pill button in full gestures
3) The lack of most used apps on the recents menu even on Pixel Launcher
4) Battery Icon is buggy as mentioned below.
5) Had a couple of reboots.
Rom is smooth and stable with loads of features , really appreciate your work
i wanted to point out some minor bugs ( not complaining just for improvement)
1) battery icon is inaccurate , it shows almost full even at 60% battery and stays that way
2) Quick settings header image option randomly gets turned off
Thanks again for the Rom
Second AICP R build for raphael.
You can dirty flash, but please, first remove any enrolled fingerprint just to avoid any unnecessary hassle (there's none but this is what i do usually).
On this build i have improved FOD like a lot. It should work better than before. Mobile signal should be better for some mobile operators.
Stock FM Radio won't work at all, hence removed, however, there are thousands of FM apps on Play Store, pretty sure you can find a neat one there.
I'll take into consideration all of your reports and attempt fixing them starting on the next build. Hopefully on the next build they'll be solved.
Same case as before, build is labeled as EXPERIMENTAL and i think this will be the last EXPERIMENTAL build, I'll be moving onto BETA label starting from the next build.

How to flash for the first time:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
0. Real recovery is recommended, it has been reported though that FOTA recovery might work too. There are issues with reboot to recovery with some recoveries (the TWRP linked here seems to work fine for me)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
7. Reboot your device.
The procedure might vary from device to device and is a bit different on system updates!
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution can be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update).
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions >= 17.2 don't usually require to be flashed on every dirty flash.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA ("Over-The-Air" Updates):
To be able to flash using the built-in OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery. Keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!

It doesn't look like hardware problem. Reboot cleans storage and then phone works just fine. Every reboot resets AICP base theme to Light (default).

Flashed it . Nano gaps and magisk . Its very smooth. Bluetooth cant transfer files to my pc. Tomorrow will double check that . It runs but disconects from pc.Havent tried headfones yet - bluetooth and regular. Mobile data works, both 3g and lte. Video recording with stock camera is dark. Open camera works fine. No time for more testing today.
P.P. Pictures taken with stock camera app are 180 rotated. Pictures taken in landscape are ok.
Installed this yesterday. Rom are smooth, Bugs found:
-instagram wont play videos
-
-
That's it
Very smooth rom
Bug : Gallery Setting and AICP extra's
This ROM is very smooth and responsive even being in alpha. Amazing port SpiritCroc
Very good ROM, and it's only an alpha!
Wifi, LTE, Bluetooth, Hotspot are working smoothly.
I only got these issues:
Gallery: no images found
Aicp extras: several functions to be implemented yet
Screen casting: got a soft reboot when trying to transmit to an external device.
Thanks a lot for this excellent ROM!
Google Pay and Mobile Pay
In the settings on Android, the mobile payment (Tap and Pay) is not selectable or if the option is clicked to get back to the overview of the settings. Please fix the bug. The whole thing is not synonymous with other Custom Roms. only with stick is Google Pay useable.:crying:
Really awesome for a rom in alpha status !
Greats thanks to all developers and to our loved maintainer SpiritCroc :good:
But once again, I got problem on stock camera : app crashes on launch. (open camera is working as already reported)
Others tell about dark pictures/video, so they seem to access stock camera app.
As usual, from TWRP, I've FORMATTED cache/dalvik, internal storage (system+data).
Then I've installed aicp + nano gapps + magisk 17.1
Should I try to restore from stock rom
(I really don't understand what is the difference with a format from TWRP, but on my phone it seems to modify stock camera functions)
The rom is smooth & quite stable, I think it will official soon
wow
this is truly the best firmware:good:. For four days of use, no complaints, compared to the previous 8.1. A good start, I hope further development will be as successful.

With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we became LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP and we are now based on the "Ground Zero Open Source Project" (GZOSP) for Android Pie.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the GZOSP team, if it concerns their code base. This ROM isn't GZOSP supported, so there is no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*

A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I 'dirty flash' builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Pie. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash for the first time:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (latest TWRP from the CarbonROM thread recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6. Reboot your device.
The procedure might vary from device to device and is a bit different on system updates!
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution can be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update)
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions >= 17.2 don't usually require to be flashed on every dirty flash.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA ("Over-The-Air" Updates):
To be able to flash using the built-in OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery. Keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!

It´s not a bug, it´s normal in Android 9 because i can´t trigger the split screen mode on my Pixel 2 with the Recent button.
have been using all day and must say it is snappy. The only thing i see not working so far is DOUBLE TAP TO WAKE. it is enabled in AICP Settings, but not working. Double tap to sleep is working but not double tap to wake. It is not something i can't live without, but it is nice to have. Otherwise all the basic stuff seems to work without issue.....For me anyway.

You could use smartbar (Aicp Extras/Navigation/Enable navigation bar/Navigation mode - > smartbar) which is a highly customizable navigation bar and set it up to trigger split screen with long press on recents button if you wish
Thanks for the start of the work! I hope new improvements of this rom, mainly in the economy of battery, thank you and have a great new year

Great work, especially for an initial version.
Thanks for keeping this device alive.
I can not wait to test the rom, but currently I'm traveling and need the tablet.
Can someone please tell me the widevine security level?
(Does it work to download content from Netflix?)
It can be checked with DRM info (available at Playstore).
Does Miracast/screen cast and the camera(videos/photos/video calls) work?
Splitscreen
All the split screen functionality may have changed with PIE. I rarely use split screen so I'm not sure. But i have been testing and.....SPLIT SCREEN DOES WORK. When you enter recent's, long press the icon above the recent window and you will get the split screen option. I tried using STOCK recents to get it to work this way.
If using SLIM RECENTS, long press the recent app name then select the side by side windows.
Hope this helps the ones needing split screen...
Yep, split screen works e.g. for smartbar...so no issue.
I noticed that when I make a phone call the person on the other side can't hear me.
bug: the MAC address changes upon reboot. thanks for continuing to support the z2 tab!

Yes castor. Will get and post the logcat today evening.
So the Camera issue is still a thing? At first it works, but after a couple of restart i only receive the message "android camera could not connect"
also can't get a rotation lock working / i'm using rotation control pro but the tablet is still switching from landscape back *grml*
beside that, thank your for your work on this ROM. it's amazing that this tablet is still supported by someone (even the LTE Version) and surprise, it really works well
with android 9 .. i'm happy *thumbs up*

I haven't experienced that yet, could you provide a logcat for this?
First of all, a huge THANK YOU to all people involved! It is incredible that we get Pie on our almost 5 year old tablet!
I have installed this ROM the following way:
- Extracted boot.img
- Flashed boot.img with fastboot
- Flashed TWRP with fastboot
- Edit: Flashed ROM/ GApps Pico
- Rebooted
- Flashed Magisk
So far everything which I have tested has worked:
- Google integration (Fotos etc.)
- WIFI/ Internet
- Youtube
- Chromecast
- Camera
I cannot say anything about battery consumption yet, but this is just a first beta anyways...
I'm very happy, keep up the good work :good:

If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup (or with any backup/restore app) as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug, restoring regular apps is fine though.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash for the first time:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (ORANGE FOX recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, Data and Vendor (you might need to format the data partition!).
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6. Reboot and set up your device enable developer settings and in them OEM unlock/Advanced reboot/USB tethering. (Optional)
7. Reboot back into recovery.
8. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
9. Reboot your device.
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions >= 20.1

I think there will be a good chance to get goodix working on mido as soon as LineageOS 17 gets official for some XIAOMI devices, because mido is not the only device from XIAOMI with goodix fp sensor.
If you take a look to the four commits from Michael Bestas for android_kernel_xiaomi_msm8998 at gerrit code review,
https://review.lineageos.org/q/goodix
you will see he cleaned up the goodix driver and implementation. He should have the skills to make goodix driver working with Q in my opinion.
Making newer kernel (4.9 or higher) working with mido will be much more work. Artem Borisov is doing it on tissot.
In above link there is also a commit from Bruno Martins importing the goodix driver for LOS17-staging two weeks ago... I am be patient
We'll see the results in a few month.
I tried above commit result was goodix fp shows in the fingerprint section but does not enroll and then disappears ?
Hi! Unfortunately I've encountered some issue:
a) For some reason, I'm unable to permanently set the quick settings icon shape from default to round. I resets to default after every reboot.
b) Returning to Oreo recents (vertical) by freezing Quickstep launcher aka. com.android.launcher3 (in Ice Box for example) doesn't work anymore. Couldn't tell if it's a bug or a feature of Android 10 itself, but I'm still super curious about a workaround.
Otherwise, it's a promising looking ROM, I'll be back after a few days to tell more about my experiences. Thank you for your hard work for keeping our device alive!

Would be very helpful if you could give some logs regarding the issue in the telegram group
Thanks for reporting the problems
Vulkan drivers
I think that Vulkan drivers are missing since 3DMark and AnTuTu are crashing. Any plans to implement those?

We changed again for Android Q with a base of AOSP repositories and some additions from LineageOS for device specific repositories.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out, if it concerns our code base. This ROM isn't LineageOS supported, so there is no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
*

You tell...
How to flash for the first time:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, and Data (you might need to format the data partition!).
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work), GApps are already included for some a/b devices.
6. Reboot and set up your device, enable developer settings and in them OEM unlock/Advanced reboot/USB tethering.
7. Reboot back into TWRP recovery.
8. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
9. Reboot your device.
The procedure may vary from device to device and is a bit different on system updates!
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once! This might differ on AvB Devices.
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions >= 20.3 don't usually need to be flashed on every dirty flash.
Depending on the device, you may need to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise, you should be fine.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA ("Over-The-Air" Updates):
TWRP recovery is needed to be able to flash using the built-in OTA app.
Please make sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery, keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!
On encrypted devices you will have to enter your PIN/password in TWRP before the process starts.

I haven't used this ROM but a few minutes but it would be nice if you could customize back button and menu button to bring up recents
This is the rom I have been waiting for. I wish more roms have OTA. I have seen SuperiorOS as well and it seems it does have OTA too. It is a must for me because I'm too lazy to update. AOD is not a must for me but Bluetooth and Notification Light is pretty important for me. Which rom would you advise Superior or AICP? Superior seems to be more active

This on also active. Im still maintained it. But need some free time to make it. This rom dont have OTA yet since it unofficial build. Once it become official, maybe OTA works. It hard to me to recommend which roms prefer. All roms have their own features. You can choose which roms that suit with yourself. That why we build lot of roms for this old device to keep it alive.

love this roms, I'm using N9005 International version, this is unnofficial rom but I think this is the most stable rom for our old devices. I tried many other AOSP/LOS based roms but gets overheat, and battery drain so fast even that was official build. many thanks bro.

Hello, excuse me, what can I do if the USB debugging window doesn't pop up after USB is connected to the computer? As a result, the computer and mobile phone connection software can not be used, and the developer has opened the USB debugging option, which is the first time found in many ROM! 9005 version, but I really like this Rom. I hope you can solve it as soon as possible or tell us the solution. Thank you for your efforts

make sure that you have usb debugging enabled in developer options and turn on file transfer in selected usb mounting options, as sometimes the device wont show in adb devices if its in charging mode
also make sure to have adb up and running, type adb devices in console of your pc to start the daemon process and the device will pop up on authorizing your pc for debugging. this should be straightforward at this point
