AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Android Lollipop, the ROM has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we became LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP and we are now based on the "Ground Zero Open Source Project" (GZOSP) for Android Pie.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the GZOSP team, if it concerns their code base. This ROM isn't GZOSP supported, so there is no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.

FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels officially?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP. Custom ROMs modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROMs. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I 'dirty flash' builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?
A. Read this
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.)
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the others section in the AICP Extras main page.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Pie. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash for the first time:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
0. Real recovery is recommended, it has been reported though that FOTA recovery might work too. There are issues with reboot to recovery with some recoveries (the TWRP linked here seems to work fine for me)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
7. Reboot your device.
The procedure might vary from device to device and is a bit different on system updates!
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution can be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update).
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions >= 17.2 don't usually require to be flashed on every dirty flash.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA ("Over-The-Air" Updates):
To be able to flash using the built-in OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery. Keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!

It doesn't look like hardware problem. Reboot cleans storage and then phone works just fine. Every reboot resets AICP base theme to Light (default).

Flashed it . Nano gaps and magisk . Its very smooth. Bluetooth cant transfer files to my pc. Tomorrow will double check that . It runs but disconects from pc.Havent tried headfones yet - bluetooth and regular. Mobile data works, both 3g and lte. Video recording with stock camera is dark. Open camera works fine. No time for more testing today.
P.P. Pictures taken with stock camera app are 180 rotated. Pictures taken in landscape are ok.
Installed this yesterday. Rom are smooth, Bugs found:
-instagram wont play videos
-
-
That's it
Very smooth rom
Bug : Gallery Setting and AICP extra's
This ROM is very smooth and responsive even being in alpha. Amazing port SpiritCroc
Very good ROM, and it's only an alpha!
Wifi, LTE, Bluetooth, Hotspot are working smoothly.
I only got these issues:
Gallery: no images found
Aicp extras: several functions to be implemented yet
Screen casting: got a soft reboot when trying to transmit to an external device.
Thanks a lot for this excellent ROM!
Google Pay and Mobile Pay
In the settings on Android, the mobile payment (Tap and Pay) is not selectable or if the option is clicked to get back to the overview of the settings. Please fix the bug. The whole thing is not synonymous with other Custom Roms. only with stick is Google Pay useable.:crying:
Really awesome for a rom in alpha status !
Greats thanks to all developers and to our loved maintainer SpiritCroc :good:
But once again, I got problem on stock camera : app crashes on launch. (open camera is working as already reported)
Others tell about dark pictures/video, so they seem to access stock camera app.
As usual, from TWRP, I've FORMATTED cache/dalvik, internal storage (system+data).
Then I've installed aicp + nano gapps + magisk 17.1
Should I try to restore from stock rom
(I really don't understand what is the difference with a format from TWRP, but on my phone it seems to modify stock camera functions)
The rom is smooth & quite stable, I think it will official soon
wow
this is truly the best firmware:good:. For four days of use, no complaints, compared to the previous 8.1. A good start, I hope further development will be as successful.

does rgb control present in live display?
Slowly charging
So far I have 2 problems:
1) Bluetooth audio won't work in calls (recurring error, happened in crDroid 4.0 as well)
2) While trying to enable confirmation by fingerprint in play store, it crashes. Running OpenGapps mini for 8.1
There was also a problem with it being stuck on the "restoring" screen - had to forcefully reboot and skip this time, it started as if nothing happened tho.
If you require any logs, say which ones

1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (latest TWRP from the CarbonROM thread recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6. Reboot your device.
The procedure might vary from device to device and is a bit different on system updates!
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution can be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update)
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions >= 17.2 don't usually require to be flashed on every dirty flash.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA ("Over-The-Air" Updates):
To be able to flash using the built-in OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery. Keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!

It´s not a bug, it´s normal in Android 9 because i can´t trigger the split screen mode on my Pixel 2 with the Recent button.
have been using all day and must say it is snappy. The only thing i see not working so far is DOUBLE TAP TO WAKE. it is enabled in AICP Settings, but not working. Double tap to sleep is working but not double tap to wake. It is not something i can't live without, but it is nice to have. Otherwise all the basic stuff seems to work without issue.....For me anyway.

You could use smartbar (Aicp Extras/Navigation/Enable navigation bar/Navigation mode - > smartbar) which is a highly customizable navigation bar and set it up to trigger split screen with long press on recents button if you wish
Thanks for the start of the work! I hope new improvements of this rom, mainly in the economy of battery, thank you and have a great new year

Great work, especially for an initial version.
Thanks for keeping this device alive.
I can not wait to test the rom, but currently I'm traveling and need the tablet.
Can someone please tell me the widevine security level?
(Does it work to download content from Netflix?)
It can be checked with DRM info (available at Playstore).
Does Miracast/screen cast and the camera(videos/photos/video calls) work?
Splitscreen
All the split screen functionality may have changed with PIE. I rarely use split screen so I'm not sure. But i have been testing and.....SPLIT SCREEN DOES WORK. When you enter recent's, long press the icon above the recent window and you will get the split screen option. I tried using STOCK recents to get it to work this way.
If using SLIM RECENTS, long press the recent app name then select the side by side windows.
Hope this helps the ones needing split screen...
Yep, split screen works e.g. for smartbar...so no issue.
I noticed that when I make a phone call the person on the other side can't hear me.
bug: the MAC address changes upon reboot. thanks for continuing to support the z2 tab!

Yes castor. Will get and post the logcat today evening.
So the Camera issue is still a thing? At first it works, but after a couple of restart i only receive the message "android camera could not connect"
also can't get a rotation lock working / i'm using rotation control pro but the tablet is still switching from landscape back *grml*
beside that, thank your for your work on this ROM. it's amazing that this tablet is still supported by someone (even the LTE Version) and surprise, it really works well
with android 9 .. i'm happy *thumbs up*

I haven't experienced that yet, could you provide a logcat for this?
First of all, a huge THANK YOU to all people involved! It is incredible that we get Pie on our almost 5 year old tablet!
I have installed this ROM the following way:
- Extracted boot.img
- Flashed boot.img with fastboot
- Flashed TWRP with fastboot
- Edit: Flashed ROM/ GApps Pico
- Rebooted
- Flashed Magisk
So far everything which I have tested has worked:
- Google integration (Fotos etc.)
- WIFI/ Internet
- Youtube
- Chromecast
- Camera
I cannot say anything about battery consumption yet, but this is just a first beta anyways...
I'm very happy, keep up the good work :good:

Code:

Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 28.

Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot" as the destination, then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash and reboot afterwards.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.

Hello
Thankx for sharing. Nice rom, pretty stable. But some users reports that wifi 5GHz is very slow, seems to be kernel issue
P.s. why not create new thread or rename this one?

With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we became LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP and then changed to be based on the "Ground Zero Open Source Project" (GZOSP) for Android Pie.
We changed again for Android Q with a base of AOSP repositories and some additions from LineageOS for device specific repositories.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out, if it concerns our code base. This ROM isn't LineageOS supported, so there is no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
*

FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look here to see what day your device is built on.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. Information about Xposed, EdXposed or Riru Core can be obtained from the XPosed General forums .
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the flashing instructions...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, this is the usual behaviour on flashing a new official build by (or using) the build-in updater service.
Q. How do I 'dirty flash' builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?
A. Read this
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat AND the model name.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Q. You don't need to install any Add-ons, simply download the latest ROM and GApps, then follow the flashing instructions and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup (or with any backup/restore app) as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug, restoring regular apps is fine though.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash for the first time:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know!)
1. Download the ROM and transfer it to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the Cache, and Data (you might need to format the data partition if you come from encrypted ROM or MIUI).
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Reboot. ( You can reboot to recovery after installation to flash Magisk)
The procedure may vary from device to device and is a bit different on system updates!
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once! This might differ on AvB Devices.
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions >= 20.3 don't usually need to be flashed on every dirty flash.
Depending on the device, you may need to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise, you should be fine.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA ("Over-The-Air" Updates):
TWRP recovery is needed to be able to flash using the built-in OTA app.
Please make sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery, keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!
On encrypted devices you will have to enter your PIN/password in TWRP before the process starts.

Enjoy!
Thanks Diego Casasnovas for bringing AICP to raphael!
the best rom is back thank you very much.
Hey guys !
Sorry for being away for over 2 months, was dealing with personal issues, all good now though, it's time to go into #Xmas Mood anyway.
I have started working on 10, so here's the progress:
* It's stable, no annoying bugs, only bug I'd say is that the screen brightness goes bananas when you try to unlock with the fingerprint.
* I have also decided to give it a fresh start by bringing a CAFest kernel with the latest linux-stable tag merged in, so incoming builds will have a whole new stable kernel called IceColdKernel (Old kenzo peeps will know ).
So enough talking:
The device tree: https://github.com/dragonGR/device_xiaomi_raphael
Vendor: https://github.com/dragonGR/proprietary_vendor_xiaomi
Kernel: https://github.com/dragonGR/xiaomi_sm8150
Few things about the kernel; as I mentioned earlier it's stable, feel free to suggest features, however I can't promise that I will add your favourite governor/scheduler.
Also, if you're looking for a base to boot with, my branch stock contains everything you need to boot your favourite rom. It's clean, it only has the latest tag and necessary changes to have a bootable device.
So expect a build tomorrow or the day after that, I will make sure to include Gapps in it so you won't have to go around.
See you.
Hey !
Android Q build is out !
You don't have to flash Gapps, Gapps already built-in.

Well, on Q we have different variants of GApps from different people, so i included gapps that i know they work with no issues. If you go ahead and flash OpenGapps Q variant, changes it won't boot.
I understand your reasoning, in that case I hope there won't be too many services. I am downloading now and try yours rom
Please tell me that gpay (nfc hce wallet) is working, if so, im instant flashing this beauty!
Yeah. I ask myself the same question. Most of nice ROMs, like Derpfest or even AICP have gapps included these days. AICP was my favourite on Armani and other devices. I am pretty sure this ROM us fantastic, but it need some effort to debloat from gapps!
