Hi guys,
I rooted my Samsung phone and wrongly uninstalled (instead of deactivated) probably a few too many system apps
Unfortunately there are now forcecloses in a few apps like Maps.Me and Wikipedia.... Some apps like telegram and Brave Browser work alright though.
Is there any way to find out what the dependencies are and why there are FCs? Then I could possibly restore the relevant system app to make Maps.Me and Wiki work again!? How to enable such a log to show the debug entries?
Or alternatively is there a way to restore all systemapps from an Original Rom (eg by unzipping the AP file or so ...) without reflashing the whole ROM via ODIN? So that all my settings etc are not gone....
Thanks in advance!

I'm still fairly new to anroid I've had my phone for a while. Its rooted and I'm slowly removing the bloatware manually. My question is: is is ok to delete .dex files for an app that I'm removing or is it like deleting a dll? Basically I'm wondering if it will brick my phone. Thanks for the help!
If you are just trying to remove bloatware save yourself the trouble and download titanium backup root. It will automatically remove what you want it to. Don't mess with removing system apps unless you are sure they won't affect anything else, just do a search on these forums there is a list of system apps that are fine to remove. If you are trying to deodex the rom, the simplest way is to do it via dsxdia kitchen. You can find more info by just doing a search there are threads on both topics.

I'm on NeoRom v3 where Titanium backup is pushed as a system app, wanted to uninstall it, tried through several applications since several methods i tried didn't work and i think i partially deleted the app, but it's still coming back lol
It is still in apps list in the default settings menu but it's not among the other apps in apps drawer. When i try to install my version of titanium bckup, it doesn't except it.
What to do? Is there any tutorial for uninstalling system apps?

System apps could be uninstalled simply by deleting apk file and .odex file(if exists) from /system/app/.
Try deleting those files and reboot phone if you didnt already tried.
Not to mention, take backup since you are playing with system apps..
Now it's seems uninstalled but I can't install titanim bakcup again, it goes FC before even opening, like i deleted something in system that i shoudn't. blerg, nevermind, tnx for help
Hello everyone, I would like to restore often doing some apk in the rom that I have already installed, so if I do a factory data reset I find myself these integrated programs in the rom. I tried using Titanium Backup to create me an update zip but even if I flashed to restore the programs disappear. I remembered that you could do with titanium .... my questions are 2
1. if you can do it with titanium shown me step by step how to do?
2. there is a program to do these zip to flash that remain on forever?
thanks 1000
I don't know how to do that with Titanium Backup because i do not use it.
But you can make a flashable zip file of the (fresh flashed) firmware with cwm and integrate the apk's you want afterwards into the zip.
Maybe this gives you an idea.

Not tried on my Moto G (not really had the desire or need to deviate from stock), but on my rooted Tablet I use Titanium to
1 ) Integrate System App updates (e.g. Maps, Playstore etc) into the System partition - via the Batch Actions menu, under Move/Integrate.
2 ) Convert User Apps to System Apps - if you long press on the app on the app listing screen it shows a pop up menu - the last choice is 'Convert to system app'.
On my old phone I used RootExplorer and copied the file into the system and set the permissions. It might need a reboot after too. I didn't used it with updated apps but I prefer to keep things stock in that way.
Hi All
I tried to restore date to my messaging app by titanium back up and then the app disappeared, I think I had a bad backup file. I didn't have another backup unfortunately. I tried to reinstalling it by getting the modded apk from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/themes-apps/app-stock-s6-sms-app-waking-screen-t3105591
But that didn't work, I still have no messaging app.
Can anyone help?
I am running the G920W8 on 5.1.1. I was able to switch system files to writable before adding the messaging app. And I am using ES File explorer to navigate the directories. All help appreciated!
Thank you so much
bump, anyone? still need help to bring it back!!
Short of flashing stock image I don't know what else to suggest..
With Android Marshmallow, after using a System Optimser app, my Notification and Ringtone Folders have been deleted. So this means i cant add my own notifications or ringtones (it just doesnt seem to work).
Is there any way to Restore these Folders without doing a Factory Reset (didnt want to have to restore everything on my phone after that) and without needing to Root the phone and also without being forced to have to use an app like Zedge forever, for new ringtones i want, instead of the Stock Samsung Folders?
Any help would be very welcome. Thanks
Hi !
Without root you can`t push any files into the system .
I can suggest you to flash the stock firmware in order to get you`re system working again if that application that you used can`t restore it by itself
And also , for more help , please provide the device model you have issues
Good luck !
