Hello guys, I'm having trouble unlocking the bootloader, I tried all the possibilities on YouTube, and I waited 168 hours, but in the end the same problem
Hi, what exactly have you done?
I am still in waiting list... on tuesday I will be able to tell if I have been successful or not...
Never touch the unlock option in Developer options once 168hours countdown is started. If you do this, countdown will reset.
What you can do is simulate the the unlocking thru your pc every day in order to review the remaining hours
Beside of the unlock option, you should never remove the sim card.
Guys. Try this one, it worked for me. It took me a number of attempts. I cound not get a countdown until I used this one.

I'm sorry man. Took me about 28 days. If you get a countdown an leave you sim untouched it should work
I used https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/tool-xiaomitool-xiaomi-rom-changing-made-easy.3627081/ and worked perfectly. I got troubled using it only because when the phone was in fastboot mode my user had no permission to access it.

Ok I think I really may have messed up big time with this guys so I'm begging for some help.
]So I just recently bought a AT&T LG G3 on ebay in excellent condition everything worked great until I started experimenting. I rooted it using KingRoot but later decided I'd rather use another method of root because I prefer SuperSu to manage my root access...Anyways to make a long story very short. I needed to get into download mode but Kill Switch had already locked me out because I rooted it..I did not know that McAfee would lock my phone when I rooted.. and so as a last ditch effort I attempted to wipe the entire drive and re-flash the OS well to my surprise that did completely erase the OS as expected but not the Kill Switch. So now im stuck at LG Welcome screen and cant do anything.. I'm at the mercy of the web help PLEASE!!! smh

You can't get passed that. There's no way around it. Only way if it's even possible is to pay a phone store that has a box that might can fix it. But other wise chances are slim

Don't think that will work with the kill switch issue. That is if you loose download mode. But worth a shot.

What do you mean says its permanently locked to AT&T? Screen shot? Is it asking for a sim unlock code?

Yea the SIM unlock is permanently locked and I havent even had the opportunity to put a unlock code in. After finally getting the Download mode working and getting the OS back on it Dial 2945#*850# to insert unlock code and it says "this phone is permanently locked and can not be unlocked" I haven't even made a wrong attempt at it yet its just already locked.

welcome buddy.?
I m new and can not post a link. Should be able to pull on OTA. I had to call A TT and they pushed the update to my phone. Releasd Today by A TT
Has anybody captured the OTA url? Like many I have one that I moved over to T-Mobile and can't pull the OTA without an active ATT sim.
Been looking forward to this. I hope someone can help with OTA update link soon. I'm also not on ATT with z958.
Over Christmas I tried a family member's AT&T SIMM and still couldn't upgrade. I wonder if the SIMM has to be in the phone for a few days?
I activated old ATT sim card (https://www.att.com/GoPhoneWeb/goPhoneLanding.do?method=activatePayGo) for free and pop-it into Z958.
Had to try few time but finally was able to download the update - however, it couldn't install , phone just shut downed. Retried and same issue.
I can try again, but does anyone have any instructions/guide for extracting OTA for non-rooted ZTE ZMax 2 ? If so I can try it.
I have a ZTE Zmax 2 and would like to know what I can do to help get this OTA update out for everyone. It is being used on T-mobile currently, but I have a few old GoPhone ATT SIM cards that I haven't activated yet.
Let me know what I can do!
It seems this is the best way to do it: http://www.androidsage.com/2016/01/21/how-to-capture-ota-update-url-for-your-android-device/
I will try again next week when I have access to the phone!

I tried the same several times - but couldn't find the URL.
Also have another problem, phone downloads the update (takes forever) but couldn't install it. It tries but just shuts down. And when I manually boot it, it says update failed.
So I'm hoping getting the OTA would fix this.

I have read that the update is big (1.1 GB) so it will take awhile to download. Do you mind sharing the logcat?
I plan on following the guide but it would be disappointing to know that you have tried and nothing came out of it

I will be attempting this this coming Tuesday when I visit my folks. I will update
I'm not a tech or anything like that. I just wanted the update pretty bad like everybody else. I'm using my ZTE ZMAX 2 with a Tracfone account (I'm a light user).
I received the update last night by trying these steps...
1. I powered down the phone.
2. Removed Sim card.
3. I went into Recovery mode (Volume up + Power) (I held Volume up till I got in)
4. Wipe Cache Partition (it took a while)
5. Reboot Phone (Without Sim Card)
6. Go to settings, Att software update, and check for updates.
That was all it took. It started downloading, which looked like a 2 part download, because it temporarily stopped and started downloading again.
So good luck! I know it worked for me. I tried all week checking for updates till I got it last night using these steps! Doesn't hurt to try you might get surprised like me and start enjoying Marshmallow Madness!
**Sidenote... I noticed in Developer options, it has a setting for OEM Unlocking Bootloader!

Does wiping cache partition have any effect on videos, pictures, or apps?
Guys, guys. Figure this out please. Digitizer is janky on lollipop, even after sending it in for repair twice. Hoping a new firmware fixes it.
i have ordered the atnt sim, will b in my hands in 24 hours. i will pull the ota links for all the updates that come on my phone.
I executed the command a few hours ago, and ever since my OPO has been on the 'erasing...' screen. Does it normally take this long? First time trying to unlock the bootloader so sorry if this is a really basic question

no, it is not normal. When I unlocked my bootloader, nearly 4 years ago, it took just a fraction of a second after executing the command. What did you exactly do? Which guide did you follow?
I would suggest you to wait for some more experienced user to give you better suggestions.
Current status?

I think you first time flashing your mobile. I did flash my mobile and had faced same issue. It will really take more time may be 2hrs as you have lots of data to be removed basically many google apps. Let it be completing the process.

Nope, takes 15min at max even if the storage is full.
It might be case with the individual. But I did succeed in getting my mobile flashed once the process was over. Many had mentioned the same thing, and suggested to wait for the process to be completed.
after update experienced problem with BLOD.
after freezing I've managed to boot but for short time.
is there any fix that available like for nexus6p and nexus5x?
Can you get to fastboot/bootloader?
yes, except bootloader locked. can't get enough time to unlock it in settings
Tried to boot recovery from bootloader? I believe it's possible to flash a full ota image with lock bootloader, but someone correct me if i am wrong.
Cheers

So, it is heating when you try booting bootloader and then recovery?

yep, it won't start without heating
So it's heating itself even when booted to only bootloader?
That's very weird, never heard of that before.
When that's the case, maybe it's time for a replacement
Any warranty left maybe?

Presently, I am trying to flash a factory image but my device's bootloader is locked and i cant turn on OEM unlock from developer options as its greyed out and unpressable.
Please help me in flashing the factory image, the phone has no passwords or google account signed in atm.
Thanks in advance, I will be waiting anxiously for ur reply.

I have 2 Pixels that both have the same symptom. I was lucky enough to get them to boot so I could unlock the bootloader, but flashing the factory image didn't make any difference. Based on what I've seen on the Google forums, it appears some of theses devices have faulty memory which is most likely the cause of the bootloop. Both of mine have Samsung memory. I'd be curious if your device does as well.

No, neither device is reliable or usable. Sometimes after it's been off for a while, it will power on and be functional for a short period of time. If the memory is faulty, then I believe the motherboard has to be replaced which isn't worth the cost of the repair. I may contact google support and see if they may give me a trade in credit for a pixel 2 or 3.
my pixel turned out to be verizon, i was able to unlock bootloader and flash a factory image.. The problem still exists. Bootloops are still happening:crying:

Yep. Same issue here. Our devices are likely paperweights I'm afraid.
Can confirm, I woke up to an infinite bootloop this morning after applying the December security patch. Seems to be a hardware issue that just kills the phone.
Have you guys have tried to cool the phone down like putting it on top of an ice bag with saltwater, like a zip lock bag, give it a minute on top of the brine and then try? Should give you some time until you can get into the rom and tap the unlock button?
As per the title in download mode i get KG state active and custom binary blocked due to installing balance.
I was able to reflash latest stock firmware with odin and at least get the phone working but am now not able to flash TWRP or magisk not even with a patched AP file in odin it fails at last step. All i wanted was viper4android which unfortunately requires to be rooted for it to work.
Anyone have any ideas please??
My apologies did not realize posted twice, please remove this one if possible

I have the same issue with my S21 Ultra - G998B.
How long have you had the phone. From what I gathered online we have to wait 7days so that the KGstate changes - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ll-twrp-on-exynos-samsung-after-2018.3747535/
Let me know if you find something to fix it

Thank you for the kind reply i have only had the phone 2 weeks, bought direct from samsung uk. I was able to unlock bootloader the same day i got the phone and did not have any issues before with KG state everything worked perfectly. Then a couple of days ago i rebooted and was greeted by the following message on the boot up splash screen "custom binary blocked due to installing balance" and phone kept rebooting stuck on boot splash. I was able to put it in download mode and flashed latest stock firmware via odin so now phone works but it naggs me that KG state is active and i can no longer flash TWRP or anything else. I will not reboot phone for 7 days and see if KG state disappears, i hope so !!

This is exactly what I have done and my situation atm.
Rooted on first day (unlocked bootloader / oem etc)
Next day i rebooted phone and got the custom binary locked.
Flashed stock rom.
Waiting 7 days now - (6days left!!!)
Hopefully in a week will be able to re flash TWRP and then will try the RMM/KG bypass patch flashed via recovery to prevent this mess from reoccurring again

Don't blame you though i don't know where you stand on a RMA as technically warranty has been voided by unlocking bootloader etc. If you manage to get yours replaced let me know as i might have to go the same route too.

Sent my S21 back they have received it but still waiting to hear if they are going to refund me or not!! i ended up buying a oneplus 7T which has almost same specs as S21. The 7T has snapdragon 855+ CPU 8GB ram 128GB internal 90htz refresh rate screen , 6.5 screen (1080p) but for £250 saving almost £500. Plus the 7T can be easily rooted and no KG state to worry about etc
