Hi all,
Hope someone might share some ideas.
I have a Hyndai ix35 (Tucson) 2011, I bought an android radio which has been working great, except for 2 things.
1) The ipod app kees closing it self, not FC just the UI dissapears, I think this has to do with how android auto closes the apps that are just sitting idle, but I don't know how to stop that from happening.
2) out of the blue the radio won't lock into any GPS sat, so I have no GPS which was one of the main reasons of why I bought this radio.
I have tried faster fix, gps aid and a whole bunch of apps that should help on locking position.
The radio is rooted via Z4root and has stock recovery.
I think my /system folder is messed up that is why my GPS is no longer working but that is just what I think, I have done Factory Reset but that won't touch the /System folder.
Radio is running Android 2.2.1
any help would be great
Thanks
Hi guys,
SInce updating my stock HTC One S to Android 4.1.1 and HTC 4+, I cannot get Navigation to work properly. It force closes every 10 or so seconds.
The GPS is clearly working as it does find the route immediately, and starts to navigate - but then closes!
I rely heavily on Google Nav and seeing as I just got a new refurbished phone from my network, I don't want to have to put this one in for repair as well and be phonelesss for another week +...
Is this a known problem?
Thanks as always,
TD

Have you tried clearing the app data and cache? Are you rooted? Sometimes I find a quick re-install does the trick. I'm guessing you have tried all of those, but thought I would through them out there.
Also, have you tried a different app. like Waze?
you're not alone
this is a known problem, see below

yep, it's known problem. Been using Viper 2.2.0 and nav fc in 3d mode. I put it in 2d mode as soon as I start the nav or turn screen off and use voice guidance only.
Im having a hard time finding help with this so any info is appreciated
I have an Alpine 147bt deck that im using to stream Pandora and am currently running CM10.1.1 on my gs3. Right now it is a PAIN to get it to sync. It only syncs after a reboot of the phone, and if i turn the car off to get out and run an errand, when i get back in i have to again, it will play one track, then lock up, and require another reboot.
Like i said, im currently on CM10.1.1 but ive had this issue with numerous roms, both TW and AOSP. Any ideas for fixes?

I have a similar problem with my SG3, Alpine138BT and Pandora. I'm running CleanRom 7 but it also did this when stock. When connecting the HU either says connecting (but doesn't) or says no unit. I have to 1st get it to connect to the Bluetooth setting on my HU then switch the HU to Pandora then start and stop Pandora on my phone until it syncs. Once sync'd it plays correctly. Like you if I turn the car off I have to start the whole process all over again.
There is a Bluetooth firmware update for your HU but it does not specifically list your issue. I'd flash it anyway maybe it will fix the problem. I found one for my HU as well.
I have not meet my 10 posts here so I cannot enter the link....lookup your HU on the Alpine-USA website scroll to the bottom of your HU information page and there is a Software Update link.

I'm having this same exact issue with my 149bt deck from Alpine. It's great when it works but a pain in the ass when it doesn't. Sometimes the thing you describe to fix it doesn't even work as well.
This issue occurs even with the stock Vanilla Android ROM on my wifes phone. We both have Galaxy Nexus phones (I'm running CM 10.1.1)
Hello,
I recently discovered that my battery life had become very poor, and so I checked the wakelocks and it turned out to be RilJ Dialer, leading to a mspi and radio interface wakelock whenever my signal become low or gone( I get poor reception in areas of my school). I learned that RilJ Dialer is used when apps are requesting network location through wifi only, and the most common culprit is Maps. I froze maps and the problem was gone, so I set out to fix maps. It turns out that the background location settings is stuck at manually set location when I try to set it to not report location, it will always change back when I leave the menu. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling, fixing permissions, and going online and changing all my map settings through there, and nothing has worked. Is this a bug with Maps? I currently have is froze, and toggle between frozen and unfrozen when I need it, because it takes way too much battery in low/no signal locations. Thank in advance.

I've recently started experiencing this problem as well. My guess is you haven't found a solution yet?

Hey Boojay,
Unfortunately, I was never able to find a solution. I was using Cyanogenmod 7.2, and just froze maps when not in use and unfroze it when I needed it. A few weeks after the problem arose, I had some time off, and so I decided it was time to upgrade my software, and so I flashed Cyanogenmod 10.2, did all the associated upgrades, set up maps, and the problem never came back, and maps is working perfectly as of now on 4.3.1. I'm not sure what Android version you are on, but when I had the problem I tried everything in the original post, but it still didn't work. I understand that your post quite old, so hopefully you have found a solution by now.

No worries and I didn't find a solution, but I'm using a rom now where battery life isn't an issue despite that little quirk.
It seems Google's goal is to use more resources and keep track of our whereabouts at the expense of battery. I'm not too thrilled with the direction they're taking with their apps and OS lately, but what can ya do?

Hello! I've been a Google Music All Access subscriber since nearly day 1, and I haven't had any issues with the service until recently. I can't pinpoint a specific time this started, but it was before Lollipop rolled out to my Nexus 5 (problem probably started about a month ago?). GMAA has mood radio stations that you can pick based on the time of day, so for work, bedtime, etc. Often (>50% of the time now) when I try to play one of these radio stations, I get an error that states "Couldn't prepare radio. Please try again." The error persists for specific radio stations; trying other stations makes it work (but the original station still doesn't work). I've attached a screenshot of the error.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? It's REALLY annoying and I'd like to get it fixed! I'll contact Google directly if I have to, but I'd prefer to avoid that.

Did you ever end up finding a solution to this problem. I've been experiencing it for a couple months now. I emailed Google Play app support but have not gotten a response from them even after numerous attempts.
I keep having this issue too and its so annoying...if anyone has a fix please share.

Found a solution that worked for me I grabbed the old APK from APK mirror and installed that version instead ( grab oct 21 2014 release) install this version and play a few of the contextual radios they all seemed to work on that version. After playing the ones that weren't working I installed the newest version again and they continued to work.
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-music/google-play-music-5-7-1717q-1530520-apk/ this is the version that I used to get it working again.
Here's what worked for me... I completely uninstalled the app. It was installed by default as a system app. Then installed again through the Google Play store. Haven't had any issues so far ??

Thanks for this. I started getting the same error so I followed your instructions. I'm not rooted so I couldn't completely remove the app. But I uninstalled as much as i could and cleared everything I could and the radio stations are working again.
Hey guys
I know I'm late to the party but I found a fix to this issue and I wanted to see if it works for other people. I did this on a galaxy S7 running Android 7.0 and running the latest version of Google play music. Here's what I did:
1. Tap the 3 dot menu on the playlist in question and select "create new playlist"
2. Name the playlist something different from the original
3. Remove one song from the playlist (I don't think it matters which but I removed the first song)
4. Put the song back in the playlist.
5. Check to see if the radio function works for the new playlist
6. Delete the old playlist and rename the new on to what the old playlist was called.
7. Now you should have a playlist that is identical to the original and the radio function should work for it.
Hope this helps.
