GMS on Honor 9a - Honor 9A Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi guys,
Do you have a clear tutorial on how to install the Google stuff on our Honor 9A?
I've been trough a lot of tutorials with absolutely no luck whatsoever.
Could you please point me in the right direction?
Thanks a lot!
Ovi.

At the moment, there is no working way to install GMS. To install, you need to unlock the bootloader, well, and then look for TWRP, and there is not far to GMS. Until the bootloader is unlocked-GMS is not implemented in the system.

Verify root procedure for Honor 6X?

I found the following procedure to root my Honor 6X, but it seems to not list a few steps I've seen in other places, such as unlocking the bootloader. Do I need to unlock it with this guide? If so, how do I do so? What else is missing?
Guide: huaweiflash.com/how-to-root-huawei-honor-6x/
Thanks.

The first step in this procedure is install TWRP. If you followed the link on how to install TWRP then you wouldn't be asking this question.
The first step actually isn't TWRP but unlocking the bootloader, mandatory in way to proceed with everything else. Since that Crapwei has stopped support in doing so, you'll need to pay 3/4$ to third-party services (like DC-Phoenix in example, a service used by a lot of users here since that it's working and low cost) in way to unofficially unlock it. Just google for or search here on XDA some 'bout
Thanks for all the help guys!

Honor 8C unlock bootloader and root?

I am unable to find a forum section for the Honor 8C (BKK-LX2). The only one I can find is Honor 8. I'm wanting to install TWRP or something similar so I can install custom roms and I was planning on using Magisk to get my device root. I cannot find the Honor 8C on the TWRP website either. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction?
Thanks

Don't think TWRP made an Official recovery to the Honor8C, and I don't think you will gain so much of root on that device

P40 Lite E, ART-L29, EMUI 10, Bootloader Unlock?

Hello,
I am trying to find a way to unlock bootloader on my P40 Lite E. I tried brute-force method from github: SkyEmie/huawei-honor-unlock-bootloader. Unfortunately it seems, that on Emui 10 the command used to unlock it with fastboot was disabled. Does anybody know if there is a way to somehow bypass it?
I though about downgrading to Emui 9, since I found some articles saying this used to be the pre-installed version on this phone, but again, no luck. Neither could have I found any Emui 9 files for this phone, nor was I able to downgrade using HiSuite.
I'm wondering, maybe it would be possible to use files for some other Huawei, but I am no expert, hence my question - what should I do to achive my goal? Any tip will be helpful.
Thanks in advance!
Sorry for any mistakes and generally my bad english

Lock Bootloader without Data Loss?

Not sure if it's possible to re-lock the Bootloader without loosing all data.
As more and more apps stopped working with some 'security warning' and finding it more and more difficult to run certain banking and other applications I decided to 'unroot' my Poco F2 Pro.
But, too bad, some Apps still complain about 'security issues' or explicitly about the unlocked bootloader - but now there is no MAGISK Hide or similar to 'cheat the system'
But, even worse, according to many posts in various forums locking the BL will erase all data.
Any idea if it's possible?
Thanks!

Unroot the phone before flashing rom.
Phone is unrooted and updated with latest Stock, so I want to re-lock the BL.
As too many apps fail working with Magisk installed, and it's a constant search for work-arounds, I decided to stay unrooted. But many apps still fail because of the unlocked BL

You can flash without losing data(use update scrip in the zip rom or twrp) and have a working phone(certified) without locking the bootloader and these roms are better than stock(choice between android 11 or 12).
Got it! Thanks!

No it's not possible to re-lock the bootloader without losing your data.
Installing a Xiaomi.eu ROM will still have things complain about an unlocked bootloader, so isn't much of a solution.
try use latest Magisk (24.3) activate zygisk and set deny list all apps that cause problem..
plus install module safetynet-fix 2.2.1 ..
