Custom Navigation Bar - Google Pixel 4a Questions & Answers

Hello,
Is there a way to edit the navigation bar on Android 11 without going the EdXposed route? I was looking to press and swipe up home for recents, change recents to menu, and long press back to kill application. I have this on my Pixel 3A XL with EdXposed & Android 10 but wanted to know if it was possible with just Magisk and Android 11?
Thanks

Changing Softkeys

Hi All
i recently decided to install and try out MIUI on my Nexus 5. So far im liking it but the only thing that irks me out is the softkeys
Currently MIUI has the 4 softkeys at the bottom (Menu, Back, Home, Opened Apps) and i want to change the softkeys so that they resemble the ones found in AOSP/Stock Android
So
1) How would i be able to invert the home and opened apps softkey
2) How do i remove the menu button
3) How do i increase the transparency of the softkey bar
I never used MIUI but it seems you need WSM tools to be able to use Xposed framework.
Then install XBlasttools, Softkey Navbar and so on... You can also remap the buttons through Gravitybox I think.
More details here.

Add Navigation Bar Buttons in Lineage 14.1 | Nexus 5

Hi,
I've recently been trying to add a navbar button to my Nexus 5 running lineage 14.1. I want to implement the 'screen lock' functionality via this new button. I am adding a keycode button for this purpose, and it seems to do the job, however the problem is whatever image i choose for this button, upon application it only appears as a white spot on the navbar.
Is there a way to make this button visually similar to the other buttons, or, at a bare minimum if i could assign a small area of the navbar as this button without any visual changes to my current navbar (for example i just tap on the corner of my navbar to turn the screen off?)
Thanks,
Arun
Humble request
Can I ask you how did you add a custom button on navigation bar
I m using lineage 16.1 on Lenovo zuk z1

Hide Navigation Button

Hi, is anyone knows how to hide the nav button on home screen? I don't want to use the navigation gesture as the animation is really weird for me. I'm fine with hiding the nav button, but the button is still there on the home screen.
I have a rooted OP6 with Magisk.
You could use gravitybox xposed, it has option for expanded desktop
What i do is enable gestures in the settings to get rid of the navigation bar, but instead of using the oneplus gestures, i use gesture control from the app store to set up an almost transparent pill. I find i like this better as opposed to just running expanded desktop all the time, because when the keyboard pops up, the nav bar does not come with it.

Global Dark Mode??? Gesture Navigation??

QUESTION! Does the SETTINGS menu of the phone have a DARK MODE? ie. Does the global dark mode actually work globally? Also, what options are there for GESTURE NAVIGATION? Every review I've seen has the standard 3 button bar at the bottom of the screen.
There is no global dark mode on the phone but with Android 10 coming soon, there is a chance that it will be implemented with the upcoming software update.
There are 2 additional navigation available besides the 3 button. The Swipe navigation (this one is like the "Pill" and the back button that you see on Google Pixel's phone that is running Android Pie. And there is Gesture navigation that is similar to how Android Q gesture where you swipe bottom up to get to home, swipe bottom and hold to get to recent app, swipe from side edges to go back.
Thanks!

You might have to flash system images again though if you read further down you need to reinstall Pixel launcher. Here is the pixel launcher from October update.
Q has the three button method available. Just go to settings, system, gestures, system navigation and opt for 3 button method.

You're a lifesaver! I was going batty trying to get used to the two button thing...trying to open the apps drawer, and kept getting recent apps instead. Just could NOT get used to the two button thing, and was about to make a post about it, but couldn't think of how to put it into words, lol.
Just flipped that setting to 3 button method, and now it works like it should (for me)! Thanks much!
