Question lifting ban on Huawei - Huawei Mate 30 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

Do you think Biden might lift the ban on Huawei and Huawei might push out GMS?
I got used to not having GMS but I think it would be nice to have it. I got 10.1.0.268 but can't installed GMS.
Thanks

Don't count on it.

GWallet account HARDCLOSED for BTC trading w/ a friend. Tap/Pay +app buy options?

10 Yr old acct here, and most of the necessary text is in the title... I own EVERYTHING google and this is completely heartbreaking. Tablets, an entire family with Nexus's, Chromecast, glass etc.
Trying to let this affect my life as little as possible. Bought my 360 via Moto, but I seem to be locked out of Nexus Device purchases via play, app purchases, RMA warranty options via account holds, and Tap and Pay via NFC.
Never suffered a chargeback or a problem, and I know the guy that I transacted with regularly... Google sent vague "business transactions may violate TOS" emails once or twice, but I replied that I knew the person on the other end and called in to verify that everything was Google to go.
Then one day it was locked.
They've even OK'd business transactions now (New TOS), but conversely banned digital things since june, so the issue flipped from one problem to another..
Advice on alts, and any future prospect of sorting things out?
Thanks!
Sounds like an issue between you and them .... Not sure what anyone here can do for you?
Rules is rules usually. Break them and the hammer falls.

Wondering if, since I can't seem to get anywhere within their departments and a lifetime google ban is INSANE as an outcome, if there are any other NFC tap and pay options to use in stores, or advice on buying apps. Thanks/

How easy is it to get the Google Play Store on the Honor 20?

So the device is supposedly certified by Google, but how easy is it to get the Play store on the Honor 20? Does it come preinstalled with the European version (global)? Do you have to root, do other complicated stuff (for a non tech savy person) in order to get the Google Play Store? Can you log in with your account and download the apps/games that you purchased on your other devices? I would be thankful for any and all answers from Honor 20 owners, this uncertainty is the only thing stopping me from purchasing an Honor 20.
Have a happy new year!

The global version (mine is YAL-L21) does come with GMS pre-installed out-of-the-box, all you need to do is sign in to your Google account.
It should be pre-installed on this model.

Huawei Pay - Any news on compatible Western banks?

So from my understanding Huawei Pay is already in use in China and has been touted to be "coming soon" in Western markets.
Wallet at the moment seems to just be compatible with gift cards and coupons etc.
What are you guys hoping to see out of Huawei Pay/Wallet going forward?
Do you have any concerns with particular banks not working? Barclays have always been stubborn when it comes to using things like GPay etc which obviously would bring scepticism whether they will work with Huawei too...
I think I'd like to see Face ID payments similar to Apple - on compatible devices such as Mate 20 + 30 Pro and P40 Pro...
Would be really good to see this in the UK. I am guessing that banks just need to sign off on it. But when it come i can see it being a beast.
Well excited for this feature, maybe on a potential new launch from Huawei also having mobile payments will be proof that Huawei has the banking app as all I'm reading on other social platforms is no app for that etc etc.
Would Huawei pay just a case of any where that accepts android pay? I know HMS is just base run android but curious to whether ill see 'Pay with Huawei' signage instores.

Yeah would be interested to see this. Do not know why it would't work the same way as Gpay.
Thoughts on it being called H-Pay, Huawei Pay or Pay with Huawei?

Will be interesting to see, you would think any which run on GPay would be happy to go with Huawei and those which have been awkward in the past will remain so!

yeah your right its good to see the intergration / boarding passes / gift cards / credit cards - shame the UK doesn't currently do digital drivers licenses as it would be a full useable wallet and you legit don't need to carry anything then!

Just got a P40 Pro, is there any way to make payments and keep my store cards without using GMS or Google Pay? ive heard Huawei Pay is available in other countries but not in the UK , just looking for a way to get around this!

Would be good if an alternative is made available as I've always found Google Pay a handy emergency back up for when I've forgotten my wallet.

I personally use the Curve app to link all of my bank cards to physical Curve card. In terms of store/ loyalty cards I recommend scanning them into Huawei Wallet. I use that for my BPme card and it works like magic.
Just bear in mind though that Huawei Pay is on it's way to the U.K I just don't know the date yet.

I use Curve. It basically does away with all your bank cards as it links them all to 1 'Curve card.'

Not just yet. Huawei Pay is not available in the U.K yet but its on its way.
Bro.
How do you feel about using P40 Pro?
I'm on the sidelines, it's my candidate machine.

General THERE IS NO GMS ON THE P50 PRO. DEAL WITH IT.

I'm fed up of seeing threads on here and in places like Reddit asking how to add GMS to this phone. If you want GMS then why have you purchased a phone without it?
Either take the time to learn how to live without GMS or don't go buying phones without it. It really is that simple.
Yup. It is the first phone that can not install GMS. It is possible with P40 PRO but not with international P50 PRO, China is OK - it works (Harmony 2, not EMUI).
So we are dealing with it. No doubt about that.
Right now the international P50 PRO is crap. This is how we deal with it.

You mean moaning is how you are dealing with it.
So why buy a phone that doesn't come with GMS if all you are going to do is complain about it not having GMS? Do you go out and deliberately buy a red car just so you can moan about the fact it's not blue?
I love the way P30 PRO works, I skiped P40 PRO (worked with googlefier), P50 PRO China works also. International is crap. At the time of my purchase I did not have information of the "crap" diference. There is no color logic here.
The phone works properly, according to the manufacturer.
It is only your fault that you did not find out properly before the purchase; lack of proper information does not mean that a product sucks ...
If you buy something only on the basis of assumptions, you will end up with such results.

Phone does not suck. It is one of the best phones on the market. I know that for sure. That is why I bought it.
But that does not change the that the phone is CRAP without GMS. I bought Chinese version with Harmony. I got this EMUI crap. My fault is just buying this crap. Info about EMUI and not Harmony came with the phone. I would still use my P50 PRO if I could "uncrap" it.
So you bought a Chinese version, but you received an international one ??
That means you have been cheated by the seller ...
I preordered it when there was only one version. I did not specifically said:"Don't sell me the crap EMUI version.", because it did not exist at my order time. This is now the only version you get around here.

Whether you purchased the Chinese or international version is irrelevant. You would of bought a phone that did not come with GMS. Even if you got the Chinese version you'd eventually start complaining once the exploits got patches.
I am not complaining. I just explained my point that the phone is crap without GMS. No need to change my mind. You should respect my point of view. I am not trying to change anybodies mind. This is simply what I think of this phone. I explained why I bought it. You may use it as you like. Enjoy. It looks like your expectations are fully filed. Mine are not. So for me it is a crap.
Another thing is that most of other phones can be unlocked and rooted. This one? CRAP! You can't.
I bought the phone and I can do with it what I like. Right now it is in the original box waiting to be "uncraped". If you want to offer serius buck let me know. This crap is for sale.

Your point of view and yet you keep saying we.
But anyway please go ahead and sell your phone. I'm sure the buyer will be mature enough to appreciate it for what it is rather than wishing it was something it is not.

Noted. Mature buyer like me. I can see that you would like to make all P50 PRO look like a shiny pearl. If you ask me it is crap (international version). You can not change that with your "mature" aproach.
And it is not what I wish it would be. You are right.
Do you want it? 800 europen shilings and it is yours. Shipping included. Warranty from this year at local telecom.

As I only paid £550 for mine be brand new I'll pass.
I paid 880€ with discount and 2 years of bond to operator. Mine was one of the first in the city. Your price was fair. I completely understand your pass.
