Hi Androids!
Can someone who owns this device please provide me some system informations from apps like mini system info, quadrant and such? And, if you got, intern screenshots of the hardware. Thanks.
Warning: I don't own this tablet, I maybe buy it in a couple of weeks but I don't own it yet.

I found some Tablets with stereo speakers and enchanced NAND memory. Seems like we got the same thrill here as we got at the HeroTab M802. Correct me if I'm wrong but there where also two versions, one with one speaker and one with stereo speakers, right?

Pretty good to know. I will add it soon. Would be nice if we could discover some good/bad things about this devices from some users.
Unfortunately both the PandaWill Site and Forum are offline..
I just got this tablet today and I am already wanting to hack on it Unfortunately the Android ADK cant see it so I can't ADB to it. has anyone else had this issue?
Since I'm not using this tablet now I can't help you anyway. You may wanna take a lookt at the PandaWill forum. They got some new firmware updates over there. Maybe they will fix your problem?
Can you tell me if the backbody is real aluminium or just poor plastic?
PandaWill Thread: http://www.pandawillforum.com/viewthread.php?tid=2660&extra=page=1
Thanks!
the backbody is real aluminium! The touch is from LG and the same like ipad (glas).
Now everybody how i come into recovery?

Hello,
I ordered a Herotab M10 2 days ago on pricedinchina.com. I'm aware it doesn't comeis with Android Market preinstalled and therefore I would like to install it manually if possible.
Regarding the firmware you're mentioning for the Gpad Gforce, are we really speaking of the same tablet? Many specs are different: 8GB flash NAND (Gpad Gforce) vs 2 GB (Herotab M10), Webcam (only Gpad), different batteries, etc...
How can we be sure that we're not going to brick the tablet if we use Gpad's firmware ?. Btw, there are 2 different firmwares on pandawill forum: one for the original Gpad Gforce that didn't come with Android Market and another one for the new version that comes with the Market. Which would be the right one for the M10?
One last question: is there any other way to install Android Market in the Herotab M10 apart from a new firmware?
Many thanks.

Hi, so you live in Germany, as I do. But I won't buy from Furtwangen, heard to much bad reputation about them. But I also don't want to buy from Pandawill
Have a look at your tablet, does it have 1 or 2 speakers?
From the research i've done so far I believe that there are at least 2 different version out of the device (And I don't mean just the NAND difference). Maybe there is one "original" device and one cheaper copy of it like it is at the Herotab M802..

Thank you! I will try the procedure explained in your link... I'm really a newbie so I was expecting a simpler method (such as a third party apk that could be run from the SD, for instance...).
I will let you know when I receive the tablet!

And you're not wrong with thinking of that. Since Android is an open-source plaform there are several alternative markets, just google for SlideMe, N-Market
or have a look here: http://www.wipconnector.com/appstores

i have the original one with one speaker on the right side. i know the problems with furtwangen, but its better to buy from germany as from china. If you have a problem with the tablet, you can send it fast back. send back to china costs 40-60€. So have a little bit trouble with furtwangen is better then have much and expensive trouble with china

Well I think I will wait until the PandaWill site is up again, and then maybe wait until I can buy this device from eBay Germany. It's pretty new though so give it a lil bit of time.
But apart from that I'm assuming you don't have the original one, do you? Because the PandaWill's version is sold with a camera...?
Something new about firmware related issues you may or may not have. Again I'm not owning this device ATM so all I'm saying has not been proved by myself.
As far as it looks now the Pandawill company got connections to the producer of this devices. There are 2 version, one "old" GPad which has no official market by stock and has no Gpad logo on the back, and one "new" version of it which has both.
You may check your device and decide whether you got an old or a new version. If you're done checking there are also 1 firmware update for each version available at the Pandawill forum (Please look at the links in the first post).
Further there is another version from a user in the Pandawill forum that he labeled "clean imx515 2.2 froyo build". You may also want to check out this in the first post.
Hope this helps a lil bit.

Ehm.. you may find one, but it won't bring you any further. The developers of this device haven't just removed the Market (vending.apk) for no reason. They did it because there is currently no way to get a Google ID, which is required to use the market. Another apk you would download from the net will end in the same result.
But anyway, haven't you tried some of the firmwares mentioned in the first thread? Because there should be an firmware with working market for both the old and the new gpad version.

Thank you again! I haven't received my tablet yet (and it won't be shipped before Feb 10th because of the Chinese New Year...) so I haven't been able to test anything yet.
In any case I must admit I'm not 100% confident about installing a Gpad Gforce firmware on the Herotab M10. I haven't seen any reference about this procedure and its results anywhere yet and I wouldn't like to be the first to test it with my limited knowledge... It's not a U$100 tablet!
I will keep you updated. Thanks again for your support!

Well, I stil assume both to be the same devices, but of course I don't know it. I don't think that you can constant damage your device because even if they aren't the same they are quite equal. So the firmware bust be quite equal too. The most horrible that could happen is that you won't be able to use your device anymore. Then you would need a HeroTab M10 firmware. But again i'm 90% sure they are the same.
Please send me a link where you bought it.
Hello folks,
I am fairly new to the Android OS so please be gentle
I took the plunge and finally got a smart TV from Haier which came with the 2.3.4 Android system. All is fine an cherry in 2.3.4 town as of now (apart from its horribly looking user interface design). But was wondering if i could install the 4.0 update ?
Isnt the android system like any other where you have one default version of the OS that comes from google and then there are variants from the open-source community ? If so then which is the best stable version and where can i find it.
Installation of the 2.3.4 OS is on an MMC that i copied from the technicians that came home to fix the TV so i am fine with a backup and the procedure for the install from an MMC. But i assume that if i download the OS from the internet then the procedure will be a bit different ?
I'll update more of the details (Kernel version etc) when i get home. All this because the manufacture - Haier - does not provide updates online or on its website or anywhere on the web. Appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance.
Gaj
Hi Gaj - I have the same question which you have. Did you get any response from anyone or have you now upgraded to the latest version ?
If you have the latest firmware to upgrade , please share it with me or else please share the OS back up what you have as I don't even have it
please help me

Hey guys, new to the site. I'm looking for a way to flash TWRP to my MXq Pro box, it has the new S905 processor. I never know how I should search for the box though... Basically the info I have on it is it's from the company "OTT TV BOX" I believe, it's the newest version of their cheap boxes (Android 5.1, S905 processor, etc). I have found files for TWRP booting for the MXq box, but not the pro.
Basically looking for two different things, a spot for information on this box and all development being done for it, and also if/how I would go about getting a custom recovery installed for cloning purposes. Thanks.

Hi and welcome to XDA!
I couldn't find much information about your device here except this thread
Android MXQ quad core tv box
But It's not for the MXQ Pro. Try posting your query there, hopefully the experts may be able to help you.
Good luck
I know this is annoying for you cool assist guys , but i had recently visit an xda thread which said to convert a Android Tv box of chiness manufactor, which is usually ship with full android os but not Android TV inside. I still remenber the way of how to do that, to change the build prop file to some android tv devices like shied tv and copy some file to system and install some android tv redy apps. Just dont know where the thread is now. So, i need someone to help me find it. Thanks in advance
P/s : and in that guide, the op has success convert an android tv box ( chinese one) to a android tv and he even make a rom for that tv box which ships with android tv app and mods already.

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a lightweight barebone custom ROM for my old MIIA TAB8 MIIATOUCH 8" tablet.
The specs are as follows:
CPU: BOXCHIP A10 (CPU+GPU+VPU+APU) 1.2-1.5GHz
Internal ROM: 8GB
RAM: 1GB
Display: 8" IPS 1024X768 G+G
USB: Mini USB 2.0 OG
HDMI port
Android 4.0 ICS
I only will use it for watching YouTube videos and reading ebooks.
Which is the best lightweight custom ROM for this?
Thanks to everybody answering me
Wasn't aware that watching videos on a 1GB RAM Android 4.0 tablet can be fun.

You have got a point here, but can you still suggest me a lightweight custom ROM for this type of device?
AFAIK only for Android 4.4 exist Custom ROMs.
Take note that to flash a Custom ROM a suitable Custom Recovery is required: don't think such one exists for your tablet - but you may search the WEB at your own. Good luck.

Well, unfortunately your tablet is quite unknown. Beside your post here I wasn't able to find even another mention on a couple of forums. Given that Google will remove Google play support, if not already has, I suggest the following :
1. Use universal adb debloater and disable as much as you can, starting with Google play services. You won't need them, thus pointless.
2. Use f-droid to get apps, lots of apps there that are going to be lightweight and compatible with your device.
3. Don't bother with root, most likely will result in problems (your tablet lacks support, no guides or custom recovery)
4. Consider using a custom launcher (more lightweight and better optimized than the stock one. Plus you can disable the stock launcher this way)
5. Terminology : F-droid, FOSS.
Good luck!
