in the pics i can see cell is one time full and on the 2nd pic its like lost.
keep an eye on the signal, is it jumping often.
if yes, you might have an antenna problem or it might be from the rom used

Can you quantify the drain? Attach screenshots of the battery graph if you can... Use battery monitor widget to log the per minute battery drain with Wifi on, and then wifi off, then post back some objective observations so that we can establish if there is truly a problem...

40mA!!! Wow, that's huge... i get around 8mA average on both Wifi and Mobile Data (2G)
Dunno what could be causing it though... since its stock and all, i can't even ask you to change the ROM and check if the drain persists. But you, my friend, do have a problem!

mayb somehow during the update from sense 2.1 to sense 3 something went wrong?
will a factory reset help?
unless theres an app thats using wifi even in standby?
sometimes when i wake the phone it shows 9ma..and then most times 40ma
getting awesome battery life on mobile data and with both off
Hey, I was wondering if anyone that is on Verizon if their Cell Standby has been going crazy and draining all your battery over night?
I had no problems with the phone at all until 2 days ago where i left it off charge over night and the cell standby was beyond crazy high.

I was wondering if there could be anything from an app that I downloaded (I seriously have maybe 5 apps downloaded) or that Verizon has been doing cell work over night which is trying to find data? I'm not sure and it's really bothering me.
Anyone else having the same issue?
Unless your battery is really draining faster, it is a display bug.

Well it's been happening for a few days so I don't know what to do. I just factory re set the device and hoping the cell standby isn't high again. If it is I'm just going to go replace the phone.
Hi Guys
I'm currently on Stock Android w/ Franco Kernel, Rooted and as I was watching my battery level closer after the first few cycles, I noticed that Cell Standby was making up a huge amount of my battery consumption.
In BBS I personally don't see anything reflecting that, but as you see in the attached screenshots Cell Standby consumption is huge. I've never experienced something like that with my former phones. Could the reason be, that I have bad reception over the day?
Any sugestions what I could try to fix that?

I'm having the exact same issue. My cell standby is at 49%. I can't even go a full work day without charging it (something I didn't have to do with my nexus 4).
I've turned mobile data off for now to see what's going on. I have friends with Nexus 5s and they're getting pretty good battery life. I might even erase my phone and start over again to see what's going on.
That's weird. Have you tried reflashing the kernel? Not sure if that'll really matter or not, but it would be worth a shot.
What is your Phone Idle time showing in comparison to your screen on time and standby time? I'm just really surprised your WLAN is showing as off. I take it that's a fix related to the kernel too? Mine is always on no matter what I do (I'm running stock though).

Yes, I tried reflashing the Kernel, but I guess it's not kernel related. Tonight I fully charged it and took it off the charger, and left it there for four hours. (Screenshots attached) I have Mobile Data always on, and WLAN (as I've currently no WLAN router here) as well as Location Services always off.
Everything seems about right, just the Email-sync is a little bit off the charts in terms of wakelocks. The next things I'm going to try are disabling email sync, then switching radio, and if nothing helps, a complete restart from scratch with a Factory image.
I understand that when there is poor signal the cell standby is going to drain but this seems to be a bug. Once I return to good signal the cell standby shouldn't continue consuming battery. If I forget to put my phone into airplane mode before I go into the hospital the bug will drain it no matter if I get back into good signal area shortly after. If I get into airplane mode before the bad area and turn it the radio back on after leaving the area, my battery lasts fine the rest of the day.

thanks.
1: Your cell coverage seems to be kind of bad sometimes, it cna cause battery drain
2: Your phone is awake most of the time even with screen off, you should check your wakelocks
3: There is a thread about a mysterious battery drain, which unfortunately I got as well http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50467389

Hi thanks for the reply yeah my network is bad in this area never more than 2 bars of signal, I was running wakelock detector on 4.3 but obviously Google stopped the user from being able to read process data. I do have gsam battery monitor installed I will see if that turns anything up. I hope Motorola fixes the battery drain issue soon thanks for your help.

Notice how your battery drain is bad after GPS is used. See the link posted above by the other poster. My posts in that thread refer to GPS as being the culprit. It seems it may be the same in your case.
When you notice the bad battery drain try a reboot. It should fix it until GPS is next used. BTW I have noticed GPS doesn't always cause the drain to start, but it does quite often.
Are you on non-gpe device or gpe.

Hi Scott thanks for the info I didn't notice that I will fully charge tonight and then use the GPS for a little while and then stop using it to see if that causes the drain by the way my phones a standard g non gpe.
A quick update this is today's total battery life with some GPS use and Bluetooth on from 5pm connects to my car stereo.

actually with that signal level I think this is the normal drain, you got quite some screen time as well.

Ah thanks I would have got more but the phone powered down at 10% seconds after i'd posted that, calibration issue I'm guessing.

My personal experience is that I only get the drain when I have used GPS but I do not always get it when I have used GPS. Basically to me it seems like some intermittent GPS issue that causes the drain. I had it yesterday and rebooted. But today I have tested gps and all fine again - no drain.
Also have noticed after the latest KitKat update (the tiny 9MB update) that at times GPS can't get a lock.
Hi!
My Huawei P20 is draining very fast when connected to my wireless network. I get like 20-30% drain overnight, which is huge. When using mobile data I lose like 4-5% (when I first got the phone I was having this percents on wifi also, after some time the drain started to happen) which I think it's pretty good.
Has anyone else encountered this issue?
Same problem here. I am on firmware 9.1. 0.325

I still didn't find a fix for this. There are some times when the phone works well, and others when the battery drain fast. If the phone runs out of battery and closes, when I charge it, the next couple of days it drains fast on wifi, after this it works well again.
It is a software problem for sure, but don't know what is causing this. My firmware is 9.1.0.371
I think the optimiser switches off WiFi and there is a reason for that
