How do I add files to the data/data folder WITHOUT ROOT? - General Questions and Answers

Good night.
I need to add a file to the data folder of an app, in this case, a .mp3 song to the "files" folder of a game (Geometry Dash), so I'll be able to use that song on the game while playing some level.
Basically, this is what I want to do:
Download the .mp3 song > Rename it to the id of the target song of the game > Copy it and paste on data/data/com.robtopx.geometryjump/files overwriting the old song > Open the game and play.
Easy, but just for rooted devices... I don't have root on my smartphone (BLA-L09), and it's practically impossible to do it because it is HUAWEI...
Is there a way that I can add files to data/data without beeing root? Maybe with PC? I would be so glad if you can help me
Thanks!
(Sorry for bad english)
Device info:
- Huawei Mate 10 Pro BLA-L09 6/128gb
- Android 10
- EMUI 10.0.0 comp. 10.0.0.180 (C605E6R1P3)

Hi,
To edit folders outside of your internal storage requires root. And AFAIK there's no way around it. You need a certain level of privilege to write folders like /data/data.

It might be possible, but why don't you just play your music at the background and mute it in the game?
The music in Geometry Dash (Lite) is in the assets which you can edit just by using 7-zip for example.
Just sign the apk afterwards...

I understand what you saying to me, but I estrictly need to enter to that data/data/"gd folder"/files folder because there is the in-game downloaded songs for the online levels (Geometry Dash full version), and I need to put a song that is not uploaded on Newgrounds server (newgrounds is the page that GD uses to the online levels music). And for that, I need to go to that root folder.
The screenshot was taken on my rooted tablet, but it's so slow and I don't like to play gd on it, so for that reason I want to do the same thing on my phone.

Loving it. it works really well, it's a slick interface, well done.
improvements that i've noticed so far... as you get deeper in the directory tree it become apparent that there needs to be a "Top" button for easier transition back to the root.
also when you click a file that's not music or picture, the app just starts downloading, which is fine but the screen it takes you to is not the "downloads" tab, it's some sort of explanation of how the download works, which would be ok if it also had control of the download. For instance you accidently click on something, you didn't mean to, you want to stop the download, but you're on this page from a "FAQ" it would seem, and now you have to figure out where the downloads are (under a status button, NOT the downloads button) and then figure out how to stop them. would be easier if the status page after starting a download had a "cancel" button.
Edit: also a search function would be nice.
And playlists! Would be nice to make playlists and the ability to add "folder" to the playlist as I'm sure most of us have our music broken down into sub folders.
that's what i see so far.
a suggestion for future updates... find a way to stream/play the video files without first downloading the whole file, this would be gold. Also a visualizer in the music player would be fun.

I have transferred all the music in the Music folder in SDcard. I have made 3 folders in Music folder and those folders contain the music.
Previously when i was on ICS i didnt face this problem, but after JB i am having it. I installed PlayerPro and it also does not show any music, and even i cannot put the music folder in it.
Another problem is that now i have two sd card directories, on in direct phone with name sd card and other in storage then sdcard0
Is this a problem? what shall i do about it?
Ive got exactly the same problem
I tried flashing the new bootloader like someone suggested
I tried a super clean install
I tried the factory image directly from google.
But i still got this problem......
I got it solved! I am gonna share it with you too
There was a .nomedia file, I deleted it first. Then I removed the Music folder and then cleared the data of media storage from apps settings,
then rebooted the phone and a new Music folder created. I put all my songs in it and then open the Music player and all files appeared in stock as well as PowerPro
I had the same issue, had both SDcard and SDcard0, music showed on both in file explorer but not detected in play music. I deleted USB storage in Settings>storage, remounted USB storage, rebooted, made new music folder in SDCard and copied music from PC, all working
I have 50gigs of crap on my SD card. it would LITERALLY take the entire stinking day to move everything off the card format it and move everything back again (freaking MTP crap)
is there a better solution? for now I just moved the music folder into the download folder (the only folder player pro can see for some reason)
Found a solution that did not require whacking everything
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.humanrobot.scanmedia
install and run that. now the "Music" folder is visible in player pro again (MAN I HATE database driven access wish it would just see the stinking folders and use those)

Hello ladies and gents!
This is my first thread I've opened on here and it's the thread I've been looking for lol. Instead I figured this out myself. For the longest time I was straight bugged how crappy the graphics looked in Asphalt 7 for our phone, I mean it's got a pretty legit graphics chip and cpu in it!
So after about 8 hours of meddling, searching, editing, getting irked, getting not irked, meddling some more, I FINALLY got this config to work. Now what SHOULD work is the following:
Shadows on everything
Reflections on cars
Blur when full Nitro
Hi-Res Maps
High Quality Car Shaders (I think lol I put true so I dunno)
I Just ripped this from my game so it works as long as you bought it from the play store.
any questions, comments, concerns I'll be happy to assist anyone!

[EDIT] I ended up enabling the hi res maps because the game is so ugly without them. I've been playing the game constantly for a week now and I feel like my phone is adapting to the visual demand and it's a little smoother now. I dunno but it first was pretty bad. I know there are other settings I could disable to make it perfect, because i know without any of these settings enabled it runs 60fps
[DUBBLE EDDIT] Here are some instructions in case you need help!
"Here is what i did.
Copied the obb file to my desktop.
Then changed the file from .obb to .zip
Opened the zip file, file navigate until you find the device config folder
Open the device config folder and you will see the .xml file. Delete it.
Now copy the XML I put on here (unzip it) and put in the folder where you deleted the old XML file.
Save and apply. Close the zip file. Go back to the asphalt folder on your phone and delete the obb file and put the one you modified in its place.
Asphalt will want a 1MB download and you know it worked when you see your car reflection at the selection screen"
Can we get a picture comparison? I can provide you the stock if you need.
Shh! maybe I'm just paranoid, but I think people are listening....
Good point! lol I I'll post the pictures in my op. If you have any stock that'd be great, though I have no problem modifying my device config I have a pseudo one that I have notes on so I know what i edited and what I didn't.
i believe we should replace the xml file and not flash the zip, if so, can you give us the location of the xml file on the device?
Yes do not flash the zip!
The location is (under internal phone storage) android\obb\ (the folder with A7 in the name). Then look for the .obb file. Then change the .obb to .zip or open using 7zip. Then browse the folders for device config folder, open it and delete or overwrite the .XML file.
Impressive!

[HOW TO] Create your own .ogg ringtones and notifications

Standard disclaimer: You are responsible for everything you do. Including, but not limited to any and all modifications you make to your phone. The devil didn't make you do it, and neither did I.
To create your own custom ringtones and notifications in the .ogg format, you'll need to first install, on your PC, a wave editing program. One of my favorites is the freeware called Audacity. You can download it here:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/
To use a favorite song, you'll want to save it to your PC as a wave file (.wav extension). (An mp3 will work, but to use one in Audacity you'll need to download a plugin for Audacity that can be found on the page linked above.) After you have installed Audacity and whatever additional plugins you want, import the .wav file:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then click "Trim Audio" on the tool bar:
If you want, you can highlight a small section at the beginning and end to apply fade in/out.
Once you have what you want as a tone, highlight the whole section, and click "Export Selection" under the File tab:
When the export file window pops up, select "Save as type: Ogg Vorbis Files:
Click save and edit metadata if desired. (Hint: this will make it easy to find later). Once this is done, transfer it to your SD card, file path should be: /sdcard/media/audio/rigntones and/or /sdcard/media/audio/notifications. Your phone SHOULD read it from there. My personal preference is to then transfer them to /system/media/audio/ringtones and/or /system/media/audio/notifications. Of course if done this way fixing permissions (rw-r--r--), changing ownership (owner 0-root & group 0-root) and a reboot is required. Enjoy, and feel ree to share your creations here with the rest of us. I'll upload some of mine a little later. You can also create tones from scratch but there are several more steps for that. If I get enough requests for that info, I'll post it in the second post of this thread. Now get to work and show us what you can come up with!! :thumbup:

You can make it a small file size and maintain audio quality.

What file did you change to make the pipes go like that, I'm modifying one now but can't seem to find the right file

Yeah. This got flagged as riskware by Lookout.
If you're trustworthy, just let us know what files to edit to "fix" the pipes. I've modified atlas.txt on my copy of the original flappy apk, but that doesn't seem to take.
EDIT: Never mind. My atlas.txt update has taken.

MUST be rooted:
Extract the game apk and put it on your computer somewhere.
Navigate through the APK using WinRAR and under the folders res > raw find atlas.txt.
Look for "pipe2_down 52 320 0.0 0.6308594" and "pipe_down 52 320 0.109375"
Edit "320" on both to "5" You can edit to "0" to remove the pipes altogether, but it will just make the tips of the pipe invisible, which you can still hit. Personally, I edited it to 0 to make it look cleaner
Make sure you allow WinRAR to save into the archive
Un-install flappy bird from your phone, then re-install using the version from the store. DO NOT LAUNCH flappy bird until you complete the steps below following.
Upload your copy of the apk into your phone.
Using a root browser, find your uploaded apk.
Copy the apk, then navigate to data > apps.
Confirm that you have the exact same apk in this directory.
Paste your apk, and rewrite the stock apk
Now launch flappy bird
Now I'm sure there's an easier way to do this, such as editing the apk directly on your phone. I tried those too, but this way seemed to be the only way to make the edit stick.
If you got a highscore on this version, backed it up using Titanium Backup, deleted it, installed the normal version then restore the data, the highscore from the n00b version is transferred to the normal version.
The developer is removing the app
