Loving it. it works really well, it's a slick interface, well done.
improvements that i've noticed so far... as you get deeper in the directory tree it become apparent that there needs to be a "Top" button for easier transition back to the root.
also when you click a file that's not music or picture, the app just starts downloading, which is fine but the screen it takes you to is not the "downloads" tab, it's some sort of explanation of how the download works, which would be ok if it also had control of the download. For instance you accidently click on something, you didn't mean to, you want to stop the download, but you're on this page from a "FAQ" it would seem, and now you have to figure out where the downloads are (under a status button, NOT the downloads button) and then figure out how to stop them. would be easier if the status page after starting a download had a "cancel" button.
Edit: also a search function would be nice.
And playlists! Would be nice to make playlists and the ability to add "folder" to the playlist as I'm sure most of us have our music broken down into sub folders.
that's what i see so far.
a suggestion for future updates... find a way to stream/play the video files without first downloading the whole file, this would be gold. Also a visualizer in the music player would be fun.

a little trick i've been using for a few weeks to enable listening to offline bbc radio shows
extremely easily. works for PC users with android, blackberry & ithings via Dropbox.
Radio Downloader allows you to subscribe and download any BBC iPlayer radio content or
RSS podcasts. Simply set the download target to the Dropbox folder and the content will be
available on your mobile device for download & offline listening.
links
Radio Downloader (pc only) | Dropbox Account (2.25gb free*) | Dropbox Apps
* - you'll get an extra 250mb on top of the standard 2gb cloud storage using this link.
since this is a multi-OS topic i guessed this is the best place to post.
That's a rather good idea
that's the same crap as using the BBC player to play the contents directly
if you are able to download stuff from dropbox account
might as well just download the show directly to your phone
why go through so much trouble to accomplish the same thing?

To my knowledge you can't save what you're listening to with the iplayer app (on phone or PC).
So for instance if I want to listen to the Now Show or the News Quiz, or even Any Answers, I can do so when I'm on the tube in London.
I've missed so many good programs simply because I'm not near a radio/computer at the time that they're on.
@AllGamer.
because this method allows you to play content offline & as far as i'm aware the iplayer doesn't allow you to download unencrypted content - or any at all on the android app.

Good one. I'm looking forward to trying this. Might it be possible to specify a RSS feed (news feed) and download multiple items in one go?
EDIT: The sound plays back through the earpiece on my SGSII. Also, the app can't be exited using the back button. Have to use home button and manually kill. I also got a few FCs.
The application works well though

[APP][2.1+] PS4 MP4 Server v1.1

PS4 MP4 Server v1.1
Description:
I was unable to find a media server app for the PS4, although I do use one for the Xbox 360 & PS3. Using this app you'll be able to stream your mp4 video files to your PS4.
How it works:
Using the browser on your PS4, you'll be able to watch your mp4 files. This app generates a web page that utilizes html5 to embed your videos directly into a web page. All you need to do is follow a few simple steps and your set!
**First off, this is only for local playback. Meaning you need to be on a wifi connection, and only other devices on the same network can interact with it**
Getting Started:
1. Download, install, then open the app (obviously)
2. Tap the "Add New Movie..." button
3. Navigate to your file and select it
Repeat steps 2-3 for each additional movie
4. Tap the "Create" button to generate the index.html file for the web page
5. Start the server
6. On your PS4 web browser, navigate to the link shown in the app (tap to refresh)
7. Select a movie and it will automatically start playing. (the first movie is automatically loaded when the page loads but will not auto play)
8. Tap "Stop Server" when your done
Additional Notes:
*when browsing for a file, only folders and mp4 files are shown
*each time the Create button is used, the list of files are saved.
*upon start, the previous file list will be loaded
*tap a file in the list to remove it
*use create after adding/removing a file to save the list and update your server page
*computers, and/or other devices, on the local network can also view the web page if they are using an html5 compatible browser
*the embedded video player has a full screen button, but...
*the embedded player only has two other buttons, play/pause & restart
*first update will have a custom created seek bar
I created this in a few hours so please don't expect it to be perfect. Feel free to post any issues and I'll try to address them quickly.
Download
Step 6 is incorrect at the moment. I forgot to add a label to display the web address and port (8080). I will fix this tomorrow since its already 1am. If you know your local ip then you can still use this. For myself, I navigate to:
http://192.168.1.2:8080
Edit: this has been fixed and the link has been updated. I also added an icon for the app

Has anyone tried this or is it an unneeded app? I'm just trying to figure out if I should continue working on it or not. Thanks.
Just seeing it, the idea is very nice due to the ps4 not having a video player streaming yet.
Would it be possible to stream files on a NAS to the ps4 aswell or would that be too difficult?

Honestly I'm not sure. I've never used a NAS before, but I know what it is. As it is currently, only mp4s on the internal sd card are being used, I still have to add support for the external. I will take a look into it though.
Haven't tried it yet, but yeah this is a great idea. Anyway to add other video formats ? That be nice.
I wish I could add support for other formats but since were using a video player through html5, we can only use what it supports. Mp4 is the only common video format for now. There are a couple others that html5 supports but they are less commonly used (webm, ogg). Check here if your curious. Avi would be nice but there are hundreds of codecs to play them, so html5 doesn't support it.

[APP][4.0+] CopyCopy - copy, paste and keep for later across devices (launch)

Hi, I'm the founder of CopyCopy. Really interested in your feedback about our instant cloud clipboard service. This is the first time we've posted it online!
What does it do for me?
Copy & paste content between devices instantly.
Keep anything for later just by copying useful information from any app.
Simply copy anything twice, in any app and you can paste it on any device, or leave it in your CopyCopy account for future reference. We're also rolling out features to make it simple to tag and search anything that you've copied. Think of it as Pocket for your clipboard.
It works for any content - from text & photos, to web content, and files.
What the download link?
Play store link.
You can download the counterpart desktop (Mac or Windows) apps from our website.
What else can it do
Our webapp lets you view your clips from any browser, and you can tag and filter your clips to find them later (beta).
Keywords are quick way to recall any content. Assign a short alias to any clip, and whenever you copycopy that alias you can paste the associated clip. For instance, assign the word "visa" to your credit-card number and you can paste in your credit card to any payment form on any device just by copycopying the keyword "visa". Or assign an alias to a link so you can use that keyword as a bookmark from any device.
What if an app doesn't have copy & paste (e.g. Facebook)?
Install Universal Copy which allows you to copy from almost anywhere, after which you can copycopy that content and have it available on all your devices instantly! See our help article on this.
For data that you can't copy (e.g. photos, media), just share

with CopyCopy.
Will it cost me?
It free to copy for up to 50 things per month, and 5 keywords per year. All users get Pro usage for the first 30 days.
Our Pro plan has no limits and cost $1.50 month ($15/year) or refer a friend to get bonus usage.
Does it work without root?
Yes. This is an app that grandma is supposed to be able to use.
Why so many permissions?
Because of phone history function which makes it easy to copy recent actions on your phone.
We're all geeks here. Share you biggest technical challenge, please.
Staying alive on Samsung and similar phones that aggressively kill background services is difficult. We haven't really tried to solve this yet but behaviour has improved with the latest phones on Marshmallow.
Using the copy-twice method on Samsungs also doesn't work in some apps, but we're rolling out a fix for that. (And you can use the pop-up CopyCopy button, which is easier to use anyway.)
What we're asking of you
Please give us your honest feedback. We really want to hear details of how or why it'd useful to you.
i think it is great. I face the same problem.
I'm doing this for now: scroll on Facebook while chilling at home, "save link" of some cool post on mobile, -> Open the PC at the Office, find said post on saved links and share it via the page im managing.

Thanks for that that. We're interested in hearing what tools people are currently using to save stuff on their mobile, or transfer between devices and if CopyCopy sounds easier. (We think it is!)
