G8232, Newflash and Flashtool not support? - Sony Xperia XZs Questions & Answers

Hi, I am having such a pain to flash G8232, I simply want to flash G8232_Customized DE_41.3.A.2.247-R1E. Flashtool didnt have device included and I can only find support files tested on 41.3.A.0.401. So I thought to try Newflash but I see this issue :-/
What can I use? I would update with Companion but I would like to change to DE (I am in UK, device has Customized VN).
Thanks gang

Way to debrand Xperia L c2105

Hello everyone!
I'm wondering if it's possible to debrand my xperia and install an original Sony firmware just changing my costumization number in the build.prop file and connect the phone to PC companion and make a repair installation.
Everything with bootloader locked and phone rooted.
Finally using this guide step one and two http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/general/guide-download-firmware-customization-t2355982
Is it possible? Can anyone confirm that? Or twill there be some problems?
Thanks a lot!!

i dont know if repair via pcc can solve this kind of problem, but i can say the simplier way to do that is flashing fw ftf via flashtool without any build.prop editing because after this youll get fresh fw without any bugs but you can try the way you mentioned here, it cant harm your phone.
repair is not 100% solution

You can use SUS to 'update' your firmware, however it's more easy and simple by just flashing an FTF file which can be found here
Flashable FTF's

I'm from Italy but I don't find an italian FTF file there. Where can I download it? Or which file should I use?
PS what is SUS?

You can/should use the worldwide FTF file mentioned in the reply above.
I'm from the Netherlands myself and most of West-Europe should simply use the worldwide file.
EDIT
About SUS, it stands for Sony Update Service, it's just like PC Companion but only the updating & repair of Xperia devices. It has no programs to transer files etc.

I have two last question:
From the guide I see I have to put my phone in Flash mode. Is it possible without unlocking my bootloader?
I have my phone rooted. If I flash a firmware with FTF will I lost my root?

1. You don't need to unlock your bootloader to flash FTF files
2. Yes, you'll need to root your phone again
I've flashed EuropeCE firmware via flashtool and Vodafone branding disapeared from my phone, along with a bunch of bloatware.

[Q] Can't find updates for android 4.4.4

Hello. My xperia m2 says that there are no updates and the phone is up to date but it's with android 4.4.2. Theres 1 secound delay in the sound when I play games or use downloaded apps like youtube also the audio doesn't sound very good. To fix that I need to update the android version but I cant. I connected the phone to my computer and updated it with sony PC companion but the version is still 4.4.2. What should I do? I don't want to use flashtools or anything. I think it's the phone's fault for that and I should give it back to the place where I bought it so they can fix that. The phone is brand new and they already changed my camera because it wasn't working. So what should I do?
I suppose it has to do with the Country of your phone and/or if it is branded. IF after using PC Companion it's still with 4.4.2 I'm afraid your best (and only) option is to use Flashtool. Not sure how it works if it is branded though, you may need to to something to be able to de-brand it.
Well, actually try first to check if 4.4.4 is available in this way:
- Dial *#*#7378423#*#* (*#*#service#*#*)
- Check the number in Service Info/SW Info/Customization version. You just need the xxxx-yyyy part
- Downdload and install Flashtool (it's small. You just need it for checking)
- Run Flashtool
- Go to Devices/Check Updates
- Select your phone double clicking on the id xxxx-yyyy you have got before.
- If the version is 18.3.C (like the one for 3 UK) there is no 4.4.4. the latest ROM is 4.4.2. It must be 18.3.1.C for 4.4.4
My is branded from T-mobile, and i flashed CE ftf to debrande, everything is good except i don't have extra apps that T-mobile puts in. As i know your safe flashing ftf cos it's official Sony's software, just using Flashtool instead of PC Companion and you won't lose warranty, as long as you don't unlock bootloader.
Good Luck.
Xperia M2 D2303 on K.K. 4.4.4
Do I install the flashtool on my computer or on my phone?

Obviously on the computer. It's needed to flash the phones from it. Just google it, you find it immediately. Then if you decide to flash a generic 4.4.4 FTF just search around. There are dozens of guides in the Internet.
Alright thanks for your support guys

You should just try the Update Phone option that's already in Settings?

Then your next solution is grabbing a program called Xperifirm. It's like Flashtool, but this one supports our phones. It will have the update you need from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...perifirm-xperia-firmware-downloader-t2834142/
thnks a lot xperifirm is good app and it contains the firmware for the z3v; the problem is that flashtool doesn't have the z3v in devices list for updating or reinstall the firmware
i think i should wait for update (flashtool) and them i flash it with the 23.0.E.1.44
i just want to remove or fix the flashing Red Frame/Border in my device (the Strict Mode method does not solve it)
i found a way but rooted devices only and u knew; no root available for z3v

Flashing stock firmware: Sony PC Companion vs. Flashtool? FSC script?

Hey there,
So I just bought a D6653 (most likely Hong Kong firmware loaded) and am wanting to flash the official Australian retail software (specifically 23.4.A.0.546 then update to 1.232) but am wondering which is the best method and do I need to flash the included FSC script if I use the Flashtool method?
So option A: Do I use Sony's PC companion and hope that it restores to Australian firmware rather than HK
or option B: use Flashtool method and hope I don't **** up with a FSC file. Simulating a flash now informs me that a FSC file was found and do I want to use it. Do I?
Thank you!

Use Sony PCC if you are unsure about FSC script

But will Sony PCC restore HK software or locale software (e.g. Australian)?

If your phone came with HK software then it will remain same as PCC works on customization number of the running software.
If you want Aus firmware then download XperiFirm_4.8.1_(by_Igor_Eisberg) then see which firmware you want. you will have to use flashtool for this

Thanks for that. I got my .ftf's made a few weeks back so I'm all good to go, just unsure about the FSC file. Simulating a flash tells me that a FSC fine was found and whether or not I want to use it. Should I use it or not (even though I didn't specify a file)? Did it come with the .ftf I created with XperiFirm?

Not sure about FSC whether to use it or not as I lost my z3 to overheating. its at repair center for 3 weeks and no signs of getting it back repaired. You may ask flashtool developer about it

Z5 Generic Rom

Hi guys,
Upgraded from a Z3 to a Z5 this week.
Unfortunately the Z5 is from the Vodafone network and therefore has all their crap bloatware installed.
I've got the phone unlocked to use on o2, and was wondering if there was any way to flash a default marshmallow image on to it?? I'm not bothered about root at the moment, but just want a clean ROM on there.
It's a E6653 Z%
Bootloader unlock allowed is NO
Thanks all

Usually you can use flashtool to flash a FTF file (you can also download via flashtool > XF icon)
I like to download the russian FTFs because they have less bloatware unlike the UK versions
If ye need to know more on flashtool either ask or do some googling

Is there a link you can point me to for the Marshmallow ROM??

Many thanks for the help, guys :highfive::highfive:
You can perform to install 7.1.1 stock ROM with ftf Russian or Australian files.
