Is there a way to install stock firmware to remove all bloatware from 3UK? I bought a N20U from CEX and it shows as unlocked which it is but its bloated with 3UK and Im on O2... want to restore to standard Samsung Firmware. Not worried about changing CSC unless its possible

I completed the stock firmware flash, but the 3 boot screen and apps still there... so I changed the CSC to BTU using this, then did an OTA update and all good... on a BTU CSC with stock samsung firmware OTA.

ok so i updated ,via OTA ,to version 5.1.1
after this i decided to try to root it using a flashable file (odin) and now the touch screen doesnt work.
i dont know what else i could possible do, i tried factory reseting even though i knew it wouldnt work since i flashed a boot.img file
so my last guess would be to flash the stock firmware, i have the stock firmware for 5.0.2 but you cant downgrade so i really need the G925PVPU2B0F7 firmware
if anyone knows where i could get it or any other ways of fixing it please say!

yeah, it recognizes my phone but i cant really do anything with it, according to smart switch, my phone is fully updated so i cant change anything and emergency recovery only works in a specific situation
the reason i needed the stock firmware for that version was because while attempting to get root i flashed (with odin) a boot.img and now the phones touch screen wont work
It took a month before the firmware was released. If you have Sprint insurance you can get a replacement for $0 dollars or $75 if you dont. You have to visit a repair store to start the paperwork. Jus claim, the phone touch screen didnt work after the update.

Hey, I did the same thing you did and someone had told me about this..... http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...t/5-1-1-stock-of7-kernel-root-7-4-15-t3150350
Download the stock kernel from this forum above.
I flashed it via Odin and now have my touchscreen back. Now it's not a total fix but I'm now writing you this on my edge with the touchscreen working. It's the only thing available right now for us. Two things that don't work are the back and recent apps buttons and when you lock your phone the screen won't come back on without restarting into download mode then hitting restart phone from there. So I've just been keeping phone plugged in for the most part because of this so screen won't go off.

Yup 5.1.1 rooted. Both work just each one has its problems. I'd rather have working data using the stock of7 kernel tho. The us cellular kernel has working buttons and screen comes back on after it goes off but no data so if you could talk to some people about this maybe we could get a working kernel with root where everything works, which would be awesome.

Just a note, you'll lose FM radio support. I was really hoping they would include it in the update, but no love sadly. I have the U and am considering flashing the T for it. Comes in handy at the gym for watching tv, but then I'll have bloat. Decisions decisions.
Can I flash the tmobile modem over this and get the 4x4 mimo support? Or does that also include some code in the firmware?

No issues on my end. I flashed T then back to U without any hassle. Probably is your odin or faulty usb cable or port.

No, flashing the U firmware does not Sim Unlock the device. You must first unlock then flash if you want to switch carriers. Otherwise just flash and use your same provider SIM.
Hey guys,
So I'm running a stock S7 (AT&T) and have read tons of threads about how to fix battery drain, etc etc. And I'm not finding any great result.
I've tried different debloats and dumbing down lots of system settings, but haven't found that sweet spot yet. I know disabling some things can end up causing further drain, so maybe I'm doing it wrong.
Has there been any definitive solution to fixing the Android System drain? Mine is constantly 30% or more drain at the end of the day.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

API2 has an updated bootloader. You can't downgrade to any other version of the AT&T firmware unless it's Bootloader 4... This is what I meant when I said "You can't go back."

to update download from link posted before
then use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039 to go back to stock

I read everything over and i see what you're talking about. Download and flash all updates besides the BL which is the bootloader... But I'm trying to get away from the battery drain. Should I flash a previous firmware instead of the current for better battery life?
Also, what's the big benefit of having an older bootloader? So you can upgrade and downgrade at will?
I have recently bought an O2 branded S7. O2 have unlocked it for me and I am now using it on the Three network.
It seems fairly straightforward to upgrade to Nougat using Odin 3. I would like to use the stock BTU firmware.

I am late to join galaxy s7, just recently got one on eBay. UK Vodafone locked. I had it unlocked couple of days ago. Expecting it to receive nougat ota. But nothing has happened yet. When will I get that? I want to try out nougat then decide whether to root.
Removing the network lock won't have any affect on which firmware your phone has, only that you can now use it on any network & so as is you would be waiting for Vodafone to release a VOD version of Nougat.
AFAIK There is only a BTU/Samsung generic version of Nougat available in the UK on the S7 right now so if you wanted it sooner you could flash to BTU.

XEU & BTU seem to both be the same but they have different CSCs which would explain why you're not getting the update as it's not out for XEU yet.

Flashing a stock ROM eg from SamMobile won't trip Knox. Only customs ROMs & rooting do that. OTA updates should work fine if the right flashing procedure is followed.

Thanks a lot, I was getting frustrated because I don't want my firmware to have anything to do with any carrier. Do you happen to know if there is a chance that Samsung's service can see that the BTU CSC is not the phone's original CSC and decline a warranty claim?

When are we going to get it?! I'm from the UK with an unlocked S7 flat, bought from Carphone. And of course it's with XEU.

You could run into problems there if you needed to send the phone in for repair if the firmware is checked by the retailer or whoever they send their phones off for repair to. Personally would just flash it back to the original CSC before sending it off. Both CSCs would need to be on the same Android version though as from what I remember reading flashing an Android downgrade can brick your phone. I did read elsewhere someone managed to flash back to Marshmallow from Nougat as VoLTE wasn't working in Nougat as it turned out both were using the same boat loader but that's the only case like that I recall.
From experience Samsung's Smartswitch software doesn't look your phone up to establish which firmware it should have. It just goes on the current CSC if you were eg. to do an emergency firmware initialisation.

Oh, I see. If I flash back to my original CSC before handing it over, albeit both on the same version, is there a chance they might not notice? Thanks a lot btw.

I am late to join galaxy s7, just recently got one on eBay. UK Vodafone locked. I had it unlocked couple of days ago. Expecting it to receive nougat ota. But nothing has happened yet. When will I get that? I want to try out nougat then decide whether to root.

Flash the firmware from on SamMobile it's probably better than upgrading via OTA as well.

Sorry, I've never been in that situation so I really couldn't say.

update. i have successfully flash the nougat using the sammobile rom (btu). i followed this video step and step and it's very successful, it even keeps all the apps and data, just like an ota update would do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFV9WkZ9FfY&t=57s
