[Q] Cross flash from Indian (AC2001) to Global (AC2003) for LTE Band 28 - OnePlus Nord Questions & Answers

Hi there
Purchased a parallel-imported Indian AC2001 from Noel Leeming (in New Zealand)
The phone has been working well.
Just wondering if cross-flashing the AC2003 (Global) version would unlock bands or is that contained in a different part of the firmware?
Because here in NZ we use Band 28 and the Indian version doesn't have that band enabled.
Also, sorry if it's already been asked, I did a search but couldn't find the information.
And a follow-up question - if I do cross-flash is the MSM thread the one I should use?
Cheers

You can cross flash. Might not hurt. I was on EU, couldn't wait for update, cross flashed Global and vice versa many times.
You can use the builds in OPTeam thread. Builds in Oxygen OS updater won't work.

So, basically. We must use the tool and that we can't just download the AC2003 rom, copy into the AC2001 NORD and the use the "local update" option on AC2001 NORD to flash the AC2003 rom?
My apology as I'm only receiving my OnePlus NORD AC2001 Indian set tomorrow...

I did this on my ac2001 and have been using it like this for a while now, it works fine, but as far as I can tell, you don't get band 28, just the European software.

I see! So, "Local Upgrade" works for crossflashing rom? Just that one just gets the EU software and not the EU bands?
I'm in Singapore. I will be receiving my AC2001 tomorrow. So, I'm thinking that flashing to AC2003 EU/Global firmware would be more compatible with Singapore's local telcos bands..

interesting ... any update to cross flash and have different band enabled ?
Cheers

CN version Mi 10 Pro with Global Software

Hi all,
I just ordered a Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro from an online shop in my country, Bulgaria.
It turns out it is the CN version with Dual SIM but with Global software installed on it, whatever this means.
I have thus a few questions:
- Will I have regular updated of the OS in this case?
- Will the phone be compatible with all the LTE / 5G bands in all Europe (it is important that it works everywhere because I travel a lot)?
- Will all the functions work properly?
Thank you in advance!
If they misrepresented this as the Global version, then return it and get the real thing. There is no guarantee that secure apps will work or continue to work and I believe that the 5G antenna is different on the Chinese version (but I might be wrong).
They said it's the Chinese version with the Global software. My main concern is exactly the antena and eventually the OS updates...

I don't know how it has global software, if you keep it you can only unlock the bootloader if they didn't already do it and relock it. Worrying too say the least, I have Chinese version with EU ROM installed but I did that myself, I heard 5g working fine in EU I haven't been anywhere I can test with the lockdown. It's possible they have left it unlocked would be better if you can do it with your own account.

Could you send me/us the link for the tutorial you followed on installing the Global ROM on the Chinese phone? Does it work perfectly with google apps and dual sim? Are there any issues? Thanks

I installed the EU ROM using twrp have to unlock bootloader first tho. I haven't tried 2 Sims but I'm sure that will work just fine. EU ROM is better than global anyway.

I am also tempted to buy the CN version from Giztop with Google apps installed. I'm planning to unlock it eventually and flash eu rom on it. Can I update the phone through built-in software update? or do i need to flash it everytime? what's the downside of doing it aside from getting your bootloader unlocked?
Global v CN
I have researched this in depth as some of the specs are different on different websites selling it. From what I've seen, the CN dual SIM version with app store added lacks a significant Band 20 for Europe LTE, whereas the single SIM Global Version has the band 20; Xiaomi have said the Global version will be single SIM only. I believe Google Pay will not work on the CN version: you can check the different specs out at wonda mobile a Hong Kong seller. I believe it is possible to flash the EU ROM down the line but haven't come across a method to follow.

Hi, I am also from Bulgaria. My phone is coming today or tomorrow from China as well. It's a chinese version 12/256GB. On chinese version you can easily install Google services, but languages are 5-6 total and english of course.
If they say they have loaded bulgarian language, most probably they have installed Xiaomi EU rom. If you have any other question - I will be happy to help.

I may get the giztop Pro version(china) with the global rom flashed.
As long as someone has a Authorized Xiaomi Account. They can use the Xiaomi tool to flash.
But I can't find out if the 5G will work on the Three network in the UK

I'm very close on pulling the trigger on mi 10 pro CN but not flashed with global rom. only with google apps installed because I wanna unlock the bootloader by myself and flash eu rom. If you buy the CN version with global rom flashed, they will have the code for unlocking the bootloader and I doubt if you can get the code from giztop.
You have to use MI unlock tool to unlock the bootloader. You will have to wait 7 days and you will be authorized for an unlock.
5G
Hi, bands are as in image for UK. Note again for 4G Band 20 is absent on CN version. All 5G in UK is 5G NR band n78 which is present in both CN and global version of the phone.

In my part of the world, we use B3 and B28. CN version only have B3 and no B28. Does that mean I wont have 4G in some areas? Now I'm leaning towards buying the Global now.
Try flash global rom, then back to cn rom, will lose one sim and auto reboot.

I order these all the time, this the Chinese rom with Google apps sideloaded more than likely. I'm not entirely sure if there is even a global rom available yet. That being said, your software will be one of those two options. More then likely, the former. The hardware will be Chinese, so 5G will not be supported here in the USA, just 4G LTE and not all bands at that.
You will get the MIUI updates, but not the Google updates. This is solved rather easily though by installing rom from Xiaomi.eu. These ROMs are installed using TWRP and are updated weekly with MIUI, as well as, Google updates.

I think if you are buying cn version it's best to get without play store, that's what I did, all you need is play store APK, all frame work is already there
Giztop has emailed me say that they will flash the Global rom which they get from Xiaomi.
I did say I don't want the Xiaomi EU version.
I think I will take a punt. But I bet it will take weeks to get here via DHL?

I'm very intrigued to knowing how this turns out! I want to do the same thing. I just don't know how trust worthy Giztop is as far as flashing the official Rom and what risks that has.

IN2010 Bands Questions

Can someone enlighten me please has I got today a OnePlus 8 and it is version IN2010, I have read on different sites and some say that it is compatible with band 66 and 71.
I used Shortcut master to access band menu but they are greyed out. Well this is a used OnePlus so how do I know that it's running on International rom? If I flash international bands can I use USA bands? Since it has 865 SD? Right?

Hi,
Bands cannot be activated/deactivated through software and ROMs. If you bought an IN2010 you'll get the chinese bands. And you can check if you're on the global ROM by going into settings then about phone and look at the Oxygen OS build number. If it ends with IN21AA it's global. A simpler way to check if you're not on chinese software is that they use Hydrogen OS, which is Oxygen OS, but complying with the Chinese gov's policy. So you'll see a difference.
Hope that helped

Question Rog Phone 5 EU version voLTE WiFi Calling

Asus EU as of last week have started to sell the EU version of this phone directly on their website (ZS673KS-1A016EU). I know with the non EU versions, WiFi calling and voLTE won't work here with UK networks. Would the EU version have these features turned on?

It doesn't show an icon on the top right that VoLTE is enabled, however, going into #*#*4636*#*# (*#*#4636#*#*) does show IMS is Registered and VoLTE is Available.

Was about to order the EU version direct from Asus but then I noticed this thread. As I'm also in the UK can anyone please confirm if VoWiFi and VoLTE will work in the UK? I'm on Vodafone and both work with my current phone (OP7 Pro). I've seen that there are some steps to activate VoLTE and VoWiFi but the solutions I've seen are from posters in Australia and the US so would welcome confirmation that they work in the UK.
Refer to this ASIS Zentalk thread. Apparently ASUS has activated VoLTE and VoWiFi for UK in their July firmware update.
Apparently the latest update contains .mbn files for activating VoLTE and VoWiFi for these UK operators: EE, H3G, O2 and Vodafone.
(Here's hoping Australia will get similar love soon.)

Rog 5 user here in UK. Yes, volte had been activated in UK for Rog 5 . I use the Chinese Rog 5 with global ROM, volte is working perfectly with EE network. However it's working with all other networks too make sure you update to the latest software, ending in .86

Flashing EU ROM will not affect your bands, as hardware KB2000 stays the same.

This is Chinese variant, but it receives LE2115 (North America/Global variant) updates. My device is LE2110 too, but it only showed that on OOS11. It receives OTA updates of LE2115 for OOS12 and 13.
