Google Assistant gesture - OnePlus Nord Questions & Answers

Google Assistant is activating when I swipe up from left or right bottom corner of screen. Mostly accidentally, during some game. Any way to deactivate it?

Thank you. The app seems to be outdated, yet it does what I need it to do. However it's weird that we have to install additional software just to disable some gesture...

LMT (Pie Control) works great with Note 3

As shown on the pictures. .. but you do require root in order to use it.
Only thing I don't like is how it shows up under "ongoing" in the notification panel. Do have that also?

I see it but it is attached to the toggle option, so, I am learning to live with it. ?
When I get home I'll see if i can edit a file and get rid of the "ongoing" section all together. I'll probably soft brick my phone in the process ?

not a rom... it's a module that allows an interface popup called PIE CONTROL and some other neat addons.
Do a search of it on XDA and you'll come up with plenty of info about it

Guys, also check out this app:

It's provides same functionality as PIE, but has "stock navbar"-like look.
P.S. Also there's link for CE edition(same as PRO, but free to xda members!) in my signature

I just got my Note 3 a few days ago, and can now confirm the same as you, in that, after a reboot, the notification will return.

Gestures and isas
For the life of me I can't get gestutres and ISAS to work on my Note 3. Pie works great!
I googled and search and can't find much at all.
I tried using the Note 2 option under Input Device and still nothing.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

Ok, Google - function

It seems to support voice commands, but will it work from sleeping mode?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I have read so many posts about this thing so I can't remember the source. What I did see was a screen shot about having to be at your Home Screen or in Google Now before the voice activation works. Going only on this it would appear that the X still has a advantage with touchless control.
The Nexus 5 page says you have to be on the home screen.

Indeed it does say "When on your home screen" but it DOESN'T say it won't work from sleep mode, or?
I'm not sure how accurate it is, but:
http://www.theverge.com/2013/10/31/...-google-now-and-speech-recognition/in/4615569
"Speech recognition is receiving some upgrades as well. With the update you'll be able to wake up your Nexus 5 and search just by saying "OK, Google," like on the Moto X. "

I'm hoping as people in the US begin to get their Nexus 5, they will be able to confirm this 100%. Currently it seems that the Nexus 5 does NOT get woken up like the Moto X - "Ok Google" only works with a NON-Secure/Slide Lockscreen and ONLY on the Homescreen/Google Now.
Hoping we are all wrong
I have mine (UK - Carphone Warehouse purchased this morning) and OK Google does nothing at all whether on the lock screen, sleep or home screen.
Sad.

+Ryan Yakus Google Now has a dedicated home screen (one swipe to the left). The Nexus 5 also listens for you to say "OK Google Now."
(A caveat on that "always listening" thing -- that feature is disabled if you have lock screen security enabled and you have to unlock the phone before it will listen for your voice.)

[APP] HTC Gesture Listener [concept]

This is more of a proof of concept that might be useful to lock the screen.
Does not require root.
HTC's framework detects gestures while the screen is on, this is actually broadcasted to all applications, but the only app that reacts to it is HTC's Media Output (Three finger swipe up or left-right).
This app is both an implementation that reacts to a three finger click to lock the screen, and a dev concept that shows how to react to the gestures.
If you want to use this to lock the phone, just tap with three fingers anywhere after enabling device admin.
Download:

Source:
https://github.com/MohammadAG/HTC-Gesture-Listener
More dev stuff:
If anyone is interested where this happens, it's in services.odex's com.htc.server.gesture package.
This is one of the best hacks I've used for the m8 so far ... Very simple yet tasty ?
Thanks..and keep up the good work

Thank you so much. This is an awesome feature add. The Media gesture is something that I have no use for and didn't want to change my kernel in order for this to work. I'm seeing how long I can go without rooting my phone. This will definitely prolong my challenge. ?

Look, I respect that you are a Dev and have done good work. But what I said is not BS. I have been having bad batt drain for a few weeks. Couldn't figure it out. I uninstalled this and poof, no more batt drain. So how is that BS?

The app is simply a listener, it does not enable anything, in fact, if a three finger gesture is not detected by the system, as far as the system is concerned, the app does not exist (it does not take CPU cycles, or memory, or any resources besides storage for the APK).
Therefore, it's technically impossible for it to cause any battery drain. I have no idea what happened on your phone, but it's likely a coincidence.
With that said, my reply was a bit rude, so apologies for that.

You'll need to enable the app as a Device Policy Manager. You have to open the app once for Android to confirm it wasn't maliciously installed.

Exactly. Or just disable all Bixby processes with Package Disabler.
The Update is a 600mb package with a lot Bugfixes and optimizing.
Can confirm still working on Verizon with all updates. Mine is currently remapped to 1-click camera.

Yeah just need to reenable bixby via package disabler and restart . Button only responds to Bixby. Or disable and have a shiny useless button.
I have the T-Mobile variant so update may be different. Not really sure.

Confirm that AT&T still works. No updates are breaking it yet.
Works but no update on AT&T. Only tells me one or two updates and it will stop. Currently 1 press is google now (wish I could remap to asst) and press hold is flashlight.
Woke up this morning and my remap is gone. No new update or anything. It'll work if I have the gesture app open but right when I close it, it goes back to bixby. Oh well guess ill just have a shiny useless button

Did you turn it on? Make the sensitivity a little more so. Reboot.
Also, check your language. Somehow mine got changed to a variation of English other than U.S. and assistant stopped working. Changed it back and, boom.
Thanks for these replies. I really can't understand what's going on. So far I have:
rebooted several times
Settings-->System-->Languages, input & gestures = English, Active Edge = On, Tap Active Edge and adjusted sensitivity.
I am using a case but it doesn't work without the case either. FWIW, I am using Swiftkey.
Any other settings I need to look at?
Thanks again.
I found the problem. I had enabled immersive mode ala https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-enable-system-wide-immersive-mode-without-root/.
I didn't read that this disables the active edge squeeze assistant. Now I need to decide if I want more screen or Google assistant. I'm leaning toward screen as I have never used the assistant. I thought something was brokedick .
