Anyone having problems with android auto? - Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro (Redmi K30 Pro) Questions & Ans

Cant seem to make android auto work, i connect it, it starts charging but thats it.
Anyone else?

I've got the same problem! It worked fine for the most part of summer and now it won't connect... I've tried many different cables, exited beta program of play services, downgraded android auto, set usb default config to File transfer without success. Android auto works fine when I use a Nokia 8, running android9, with the same cables...
I'm running stock global rom, 12.0.3.0 qjkeuxm.

Its not a ROM problem, i've tried with with eea, global, xiaomi.eu, pixel experience and evolution x, none of them work, it just charges, I don't even get a promp to select the type of connection

I had some problems with Android Auto and my Poco F2 PRO. Solutions was remove dual applications as Messenger, Facebook and WhatsApp. Now works perfect

Bad Bluetooth stack? - Smartwatch loses connection

For some time now I own a Honor View 10. Back when I got it I paired my Sony Smartwatch 3 with the phone. I experienced that the watch sometimes loses connection to the phone and I had to restart the watch. That was not necessary with my old OnePlus 3. I thought it was the watch going bad because it had some other problems, too.
However, I recently got a Huawei Watch 2 and paired it to my Honor View 10. With the new watch, the problem still exists. Sometimes it loses connection to the phone without showing it. Sleep tracking with Sleep as Android does not get recorded or the watch app does not get the information my alarm is dismissed, notifications are still shown on the watch despite being already swiped away on the phone, new notifications do not get shown on the watch. It can only be resolved by turning off bluetooth on my Honor View 10 and turning it back on then. Sometimes I even need to reboot my watch.
Has anyone else experienced same problems on his or her Honor View 10 or has a smartwatch paired without any problems? For me it seems like the Bluetooth stack went bad on my Honor View 10.
I have exactly the same issue. My phone was fine on stock b130 but went wrong on subsequent updates. I believe the issue is a shared WiFi and Bluetooth stack. I installed Carbon ROM which works and doesn't suffer from this issue - the only problem i have is that I can't play my music collection from the external SD card with the stock music player or my normal one - have to use Poweramp or Rocket etc or copy files to the internal for system.

I have similar issue.
My main concern is that my sleep tracker on the Smartwatch doesn't work when the phone goes to sleep.
So the sleep tracking is useless.
Did anyone else have this problem and now importantly a solution?

I have a FitBit... before i git used to doing it, I had the same issues with it.
wjhat i found was the battery manager was killing off the connection, set it to manual management and no issues since
I got problems pairing my Honor Band3 with my Honor V10 (AICP13.1) After 2 hours of trying i could suddenly pair my device with the tracker. For me i didnt succed to pair this device also with a Huawei AH100 (body fat scale)... Anybody an idea? I have de(installed) the Huawei Health app, deleted Bluetooth cache and data, no success. With an Axon 7 (also running AICP13.1) and a Huawei P10 (AICP13.1 also) i got connection within seconds... No problems to connect the View 10 to an Anker soundbox or an Samsung bluetooth keyboard....

I think it's issue with custom ROM rather than the watch.
May be you can capture logs and send it to the developer.
I would think that, too, but the joke is, that its exactly the same Rom on the Huawei P10 as on the Honor v10: I flashed the same romfile (for the beverley aka V10) onto the Huawei p10 (where the Huawei Body AH100 is definetly recognized by the health-app and runnig correctly) without any error (exept the ota app that leads to an error like this: "the ota app has stopped running") so i tried in the developer options ("networking") with setting different bluetooth AVRCP- Versions (1.3 -1.6) ...

ROM is same but hardware is different hence there is a possibility of software compatibility issues.
But it would be very strange, that the hardware for that the ROM ist made (HonorV10) does not work, while the not really fitting hardware (Huawei p10) will work. Dont you agree?

P10 is Kirin 960 where as hv10 is Kirin 970 and Bluetooth versions are different hv10 has different and updated Bluetooth version than p10 hence it doesn't look strange to me.

Android Auto on Mix 2s

Hi guys
This device has just been launched in Ireland.. my current oneplus device is getting on a bit so time to upgrade...
Anyway, can anyone tell me if the mix 2s works with android auto head units in their cars?? this is kinda important as I use it daily for work as I travel a lot...
From searching on the web,it seems to be hit and miss with users getting two large black bars on their cars screen,so was hoping maybe the good folk here can chime in... maybe a recent update sorted the problem or something??
btw it's a kenwood head unit i would be plugging into
Thanks

Thanks man, I haven't actually got the mix 2s yet....
Does your mix 2 work in your car head unit without any issues????
or have you got the black bar issue like in this thread?? https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-8/help/android-auto-car-screen-t3833709
No any problem
Work well
After installation and before the launch of Android Auto
It is necessary to
Accept all permissions
Create a WiFi access point (menu - paramètres- Point accès wifi mobile )
Recognize on the car Bluetooth connection and WiFi connection by Access point wifi mobile
and only after connecting the phone USB cable to the car and running Android Auto
Thanks man, really appreciate your input...will take the plunge and buy the phone anyway
Android Auto works great with my global model. I use it in my vehicle every day. No problems with it.

Good to know,I really rely on it as I drive all over the shop daily for work...I have it ordered anyway so will be here Tuesday!! will have to figure out how to root these devices now or maybe will stick with MIUI,haven't done it since I had my nexus 4 and I've used oneplus devices for the last few years....
Android Auto works for me. Using Mi Mix 2s on latest mi.eu 10.2 (Android P). I have a KIA Rio 2018 which is compatible with both Android Auto and the Apple equivalent. Only hickup I've encountered is that Auto refuses to start Spotify/Audible/audio players when connected to car. Easily avoided by starting said app before connecting to the car. Minor bug but still annoying. This might be a isolated problem though since Auto isn't avaliable in my country yet. Other than that I haven't encountered any more bugs.

I can not use waze, always frozen when try to look for an address, anyone knows why?
I have same issue with Spotify and pocketcasts. So don't believe it's a isolated issue.

You have to give android auto and the music or whatever app you are trying to use the right to start other apps in the background. miui is limiting this by default, therefore you have to allow it first. after that this will work without a problem. it is in the miui seetings of the corresponding app, the top option "allow app to start in the background" or "allow other apps to start in the background". Something like that it was called

Android Auto + Android 10 = broken ?

Hi guys,
my android auto (in a certified compatible car AA) it's fully broken from Oneplus Android 10 versions.
Tried the beta3, beta4, and "official" android 10, always same problems.
Connections in not stable, sometimes audio glitch and interface (of my car) forced to reboot.
Almost always, the buttons from above interface disappear (in every app, like spotify, maps, waze, etc...) becoming fully unusable.
The vocal commands works only with navigator and music, no more google assistance questions (like what's the weather tomorrow) --> This seems confirmed that is broken in google side.
Now, I'm trying to understand if it's fully broken android 10 + android auto (the system AA level, not anymore an app to be lauched) OR it's only with these oxygen's roms, still broken in some way.
Please, someone have real feedbacks to give me ? I'm very disappointed, thinking to go back to Android 9 just for this, but i will loose every update (included the security monthly fix) because OPO is supporting already just Android 10.
What can I do ?
Tried all the throubleshoot I've found around of course, like wipe cache, delete app, use "new" AA interface, cables, etc...
Car: Mazda CX3 (it seems that Mazda + OPO7Pro is the devil match)

What I've learned from this phone and Android auto is that if you have USB debugging enabled, Android Auto will give you the worst experience.... EVER!
If you have it off, o don't know what to tell you honestly. If its on, TURN IT OFF! I have a 2017 Chevy RS Cruze and have no issues except when I have debugging enabled

Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately it was one of the things I've tried... Disabled the usb debug and also fully disable the dev. Mode...
BUT, are you on android 10 ? Really it's stable to you ?
Guys, some more feedbacks ?
My opo7pro with latest stable 10.0.2 it's still unstable with android auto (mazda).
Main selector icon disappear (becoming unusable), random crash/reboot, audio glitch...
Ufff
I've had my op7p for about a week. I have a Kenwood dmx 905 with wireless Android auto. Phone came with Android 9. Had no problems connecting without using the USB cord. Did the local update to Android 10. Now it won't connect unless I use the USB cord. Then I can disconnect the cord and go wireless. I have to do this every time now. Want to know to go back to Android 9.

Got the same with OOS in my Mazda. Switched to custom ROM, no more issues.
I can confirm the debugging issue making AA go weird. If I have it enabled it has a spastic, if I disable it, AA works flawlessly.

man... I'm without hope
Really with custom's no problem at all ? I investigated more... I really think it's a problem also in Mazda side + OPO7Pro Android 10.
I didn't want this time go custom, I'm fully stock without root (for security reason etc...)
Ufff... very disappointed, 10.0.3 still has the same problem :crying:
Having huge problems with my 2016 Skoda Octavia Amundsen. I will try debugging mode off and report. Thx everybody.

PS. As AA is not supported in Finland yet, how can I edit the power saving option of this App?

GCam suddenly starts crashing after updating to Android 11

Hi, I have an OPPO Find X2 Pro and recently updated to Android 11.
Back in October, I downloaded GCam and got everything working with the aux lenses, without requiring root.
Last night, I updated to Android 11 and now the app crashes when opening.
I uninstalled and tried re-downloading various different GCam ports for Android 11. Some of them work fine initially, but every single one I've found will crash immediately once I enable the aux lenses settings.
Has anyone got a suggested version that works, or a possible fix?
Thanks.
I have the same problem, if you find a way to fix it you can help

Question Google Voice Issue on Xiaomi Android 11 Phones

Phone: Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, Poco X3 ProOS: Android 11, on MIUI 12.5 and MIUI 12
Issue:
When I pick Voice to be my default call redirecting app, it does not make calls.
The Phone app just stays stuck on dialing and never dials. Never rings on the other end either.
Sometimes, it causes the phone app to stop functioning altogether to the point that I have to restart the phone to regain functionality. I have sought help for the issue all over the internet and cannot seem to get any info on it.
I don't have an issue with going into Voice app itself and making the call over Wifi. It just will not redirect via the phone app, which was very convienient.
I believe it might be specific to Xiaomi phones, but then again, I used a Phone that uses Google Dialer, and it is the same result, albeit, it was also a Xiaomi phone with Global ROM containing Google apps as defaults.
I believe this to be an issue with Xiaomi ROMs. If I make the call from any other Android 11 ROM, the call works just fine.
Any assistance with this will be very helpful. Google Voice is my most used app on my phone.
No one else is having these issues? Or is it that people don't use Google Voice as much?
Given all permission it requires? Allow auto-start up? Is the phone you said working fine a Xiaomi phone with custom Rom Android 11?
If custom Rom works fine, then it's MIUI's problem.
If it's MIUI problem, ask in Xiaomi official forum or online customer support service.
If custom Rom still having issue, it might be Google Voice issue. Either hardware or software issue.
I have given it all the permissions it needs. And I do believe it might be a Xiaomi thing because I have installed other phone apps and they too can't work. I've posted the issue in Xiaomi forums.
I was hoping other people might be facing the same issue and could help with solutions
Try turn off MIUI optimization in developer menu and see if it works.
Maybe also try this

MIUI optimization is nowhere to be found in this ROM. I am looking to see how I can disable it otherwise.

Go into developer setting, scroll down to the botton, press the reset to default setting multiple times. Then the MIUI optimization should show up.
I saw that, and tried it several times but it would not appear.

Thanks. That made it show up. I tried the call with optimization off, same thing. Optimization on, and still the same thing. I think it's a problem with Miui itself. Something in Miui is blocking voice from making calls when it's being redirected.
