How to disable bottom corner swipe for assistant? Also there's no option to set default assist app to none but google.
You can install other app that will show there, I see there Tasker and AutoTools, I have no idea which other apps can be used. I'm not sure if you can disable only the gesture, but you can disable Google Assistant. If you want, open Google app, bottom right More, Settings, Google Assistant, scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll, General, switch Google Assistant.

It's already disabled. So I've got a prompt to enable it every time I accidently trigger the gesture which is really annoying especially when you're in another app
Well, that is stupid. I found app that can do different things with that gesture, not much, but you can also set "do nothing".

Apparently HTC in their infinite wisdom decided to remove the voice search icon.
Install shortcut, then run it and it will allow you to start the voice search app using whatever method you wish. Then pull the notification bar down and create your shortcut. Dragged mine down to the dock and all is right with the world again.
Anyone notice that the voice search sucks in comparison with CB? It worked much better on my old ATRIX 2.

What do you mean install shortcut? It's not on my launcher drawer, and when I go to Google Play and search for it the "Open" and "Uninstall" buttons are missing..
any ideas?
use a root explorer app and delete it from /system/app . install new version from play store
Awesome tip, I added it to my notification toggles, perfection

How did you do that? Do you have to be rooted?

Just dug around a little, found it.
Add to homescreen --> Shortcuts --> Activities --> Voice Search --> Recognition Activity
Surely you found it by now, so this is for posterity, for other people who stumble upon this page like I did.
Great tip thank you..

I went to Shortcuts, but the first one that pops up is Bookmarks. Is there no other simple way? I can't download and install it because it's already installed...
Alternate Solution
For those who can't make the above solution work, try this: (OK, I'm not permitted to include a link because I'm a "Noob") Go to AndroidCentral and search for "Missing the Voice Search button? Here's the fix!!". It will also refer you to an app on Google Play called "QuickShortcutMaker".
Is there a way to be able to set Google Now to open on a long press of the home button? When I do it, it gives me the option to hit the Google Now link but can't I set it like s voice was before? Thanks!

It should auto open if you long press the menu button.
You can do this under CM 10. I am not sure if you are rooted and interested in using that ROM though.

Download an app from the Play Store called Home2 Shortcut. This will allow you to change the double click of the home button to use Google Now, or any other application that you want instead of S Voice.
I do that with my un-rooted Galaxy S3 i535. It's fantastic, just beware because Google Now doesn't play nice with your bluetooth headset is all.

I do the same with apex launcher. Works great, and is quicker than double tapping the home button.

I use Nova Launcher as well and set the home button to launch google now.
So in the latest update, you will get "ok google" while in the google search app.
With this launcher, it gets even better, you install it, and you can use "ok google" right from the home screen.
To make it work, just install the latest google search from play store, then download and install this apk:

awesome, thanks!
Thanks for this! Came from the GNex and missed this launcher from the Kit Kat ROMs. Loved being able to voice activate Google Now from the home screen and swiping to access Google Now. Only thing that doesn't work it with this launcher is Knock Knock to turn the screen off (Knock On works). I created a workaround with Tasker where if I shake the phone left or right, it turns off the screen. Almost like having Kit Kat
very good, thank you
There are some apps that will give you the knock off feel if you want it.

I found a pretty good workaround for that. If you have G2 exposed installed (requires exposed framework, needs root) you can map the 'long press' for any button to lock screen. Just holding whichever button is easiest to reach to lock works nicely. I wish the google experience launcher would support gestures, as we can always download the free 'screen off and lock' app and map a gesture to that too like I do in Nova launcher.
Both this KK Home launcher and Nova can utilize the "Knock Off" feature by simply double-tapping a blank area on the notification bar. This is the default behavior and no setup is required to invoke.
Thanks for making this available, OP!

Thanks! Did not know that. I can use that with the phone laying down. Unfortunately, my hands aren't big enough to reach the notification bar during one handed operation, so the Tasker workaround works better for me in that situation.

I haven't rooted yet. Maybe I'll try it if I do, but haven't really had the urge to do so. Came from a GNex where I crack flashed constantly, but ended up using a stock ROM when I discovered Tasker.

it doesnt seem to show my missed calls or text count on the icons though which is a bummer when you unlock your phone. anybody else having this problem? i missed a call and didnt even know it until i got a voicemail popup in my notification window
Anyone else getting a high mediaserver wakelock with this launcher? I'm assuming it's because of the always listening Google Now on the homescreens. Mediaserver was using at least 15% of the battery on this launcher. Switched to Nova and mediaserver is down to 1%.
I have the latest Google search app installed and the "okay Google" isn't working for me. I'm on AEON ROM v3. What am I doing wrong?

I decided to try the beta on my personal Pixel and it's been good for the most part. I'd say very stable for daily use.
However I've noticed I can no longer stop apps from making a shortcut on my home page. So if I install 20 apps I'm forced to grab them and remove them.
Anyway to stop this or is this the way Google is going with O?

Hi everyone !
Got a general question about the "Google App" aka "Google Now App" (and searching "google" in google isn't very helpful )
My question is : Is there a way to see the so called Google App in the app switcher ? Cause for now I can't make a search or show a news, switch to another app or minimize the Google App, and come back to my page, and it is very annoying...
Do you mean app drawer?
