Is there any way to add support for Quick Charge 3.0 or 4.0 to OnePlus 6 device?
Since there is limit to use only dash chargers....i want to use other fast chargers... Is there any way to overcome propriety charging?
nop. Its a hardware thing...

I heard somebody here said Lollipop update of Z3 has enabled Quick Charge 2.0 (which is disabled in most of the variants in Kitkat and only active in Japanese version). I want to know whether this is true, because I am about to use a Note 4 charger to boost the charging speed (3 hours of charging time really causes inconvenience to me). Is it possible and does it affect the battery health? Or should I wait the Sony UCH10 http://www.xperiablog.net/2015/05/2...a-z3-plus-10-minute-charge-to-last-5-5-hours/. Thank you very much for your help

I am wondering the same. I spoke to UK support on live chat and 2 different people said it is, but it seems they were referring to this http://eshop.sonymobile.com/gb/buy/gb-quick-charger-ep881 as the second agent kept telling me that is the only one i should use. This was after saying it was quick charge 2.0 compatible so i'm just not sure! But i want to buy one off amazon!
KitKat supported QC2.0
Charging current is limited to 1.5A even with a QC2.0 charger though, so you will only see a significant difference:
1) When charging with the screen turned on
2) When using longer USB cables
Normal non-QC2 chargers can hit the limit with the screen turned off and a short USB cable. QC2.0 chargers can hit this limit when running Google Maps Navigation through a much longer/thinner cable.
Do you know why this is? I received my QC 2.0 charger and right enough my charging current maxes out around 1588mA regardless what I'm doing on my phone at the time so that makes sense that it can do more.
Also, why do some sources including Sony claim only the Japanese z3 supports QC 2.0?
Ok to start of i bought a car charger that has 2.4amp and a blue socket. I thought it may fast charge but nope regular charge, then i learn qualicom 2.0 is fast charge and i dont understand why fast charger doesnt equal 2.4amp. Then i realized to fast charge eith the mathews app you needed the supported kernal, now that the pshycial charger supports fast charge, kernal supports fast charger, is it 100% fast charge? Kernal, wire, socket. Also...is there a kernal tweak like from synapse to charge faster? And last question) i saw qulaicom 3.0 is out...does note work with it or is limited to 2.0?
Sorry but you just went in 3 different directions you lost me with all your questions a d talking
Yea, basically it all started when i was on the note 3 and i noticed this fast charge app said you needed a kernal that supported it. Then the fast charge feature came out by Samsung software itself, and the adaptive fast outlet it self. So fast charing was introduced by kernal, software, and now hardware. I know kernals can increase performance by increase voltage or decreasing, is there any kernal function like that, that can affect fast charging to be even faster? Then i said a 2.4amp does not fast charge note 5 because qualicom 2.0 is needed, so i adked why isnt a 2.4amp charger not doing the same thint as qualicom. And then i said....on amazon they got a qualicom 3.0 outlet, since note 5 fast chargers on 2.0...will it work on 3.0 speeds? Faster?

I use this one. It's cheap, but it works great. http://amzn.com/B00Y0BPF3C
No, it will not charge faster, although, it will charge at QC 2.0 speed. Any Qualcomm Quick Charge compatible charger should do. If you don't see the logo on the charger you are buying, chances are you will get a fast charge, but not near as fast as the Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0. Look for this logo:
***The kernel has nothing to do with fast charge, it's worked for me with every sprint kernel out for this phone***
Synapse does not affect the rate of charge for our phone. Regardless of what the settings say the charging rate remains the same. I tested regular, fast, and wireless and they are not affected in any way.
Thanks for info, what about kernal? Why do some support fadt charge others dont. And using synapae can you control how fast or slow it charges?
This phone the n5 already supports fast charging! !! So what are you really looking to accomplish?
Does OnePlus 6 support charging over USB Power Delivery standard? I have a couple USB-PD chargers laying around from Google Pixel so I would like to know if I will be able to take advantage of the charging standard if I get the OnePlus 6.
I'm not a fan of every phone manufacturer introduces their own fast-charging method. Huawei has SuperCharge, Oppo has VOOC, OnePlus has DashCharge.
Thankfully, Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 supports USB-PD which requires Snapdragon 845 CPU, which OnePlus 6 has onboard and Qualcomm's website also says that the OnePlus 6 supports QC4.0 so I assume the device would support USB Power Delivery standard too.
Can anyone confirm this? Thank you.

Bump, same question
No this device doesn't support PD. They use their own proprietary charging of Dash Charge. It's almosy equivalent to VOOC charging by OPPO.
Is this also the case with OP 6T? I thought I read somewhere that the 6T supported USB PD ?
To qualify, yes you can plug your phone into a USB Type C PD charger and it will charge BUT it will only charge at the slower rate. It would be like plugging it into a regular slow charger. So if u want to charge your device slowly then sure use a PD charger, you just won't get the benefit of fast charge.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A6000 using Tapatalk
Cellphone Charge Protocol:
Huawei: SuperCharge & FastCharge
Xiaomi: Quick Charge 3.0 & 4.0
OPPO & Oneplus:VOOC/DASH
PD can't dash charge the Oneplus , It needs a converter.
Olease help me my device OnePlus6Oxygen_22_OTA_015_all_1808102118 use kernel franco
I lost the original adater charger is provided by oneplus
I have use use anker adapter model A2013 support quick charger 3.0 fast changer not working please help me i can't find fast charge from lock screen.
Thank a lot
AFAIK oneplus 6 doesn't support quick charge 3. You need a dash charger (like the one you got int the box) or an OPPO charger that uses vooc.
You need the brick + cable to make it work.
Fast charging is not supported on the OP6. If your charger has both a fast charging port and the PowerIQ port, use the PowerIQ port. I currently use that with my OP6 and the charge rate is good enough.
The OP7P will have the Warp Charge (30W), but...
...will my older OnePlus chargers still Dash Charge (20W) on the OP7P?
Great question! I wonder the same thing, I have 4 chargers already! And I really hope they will be compatible.
Wondering the same thing
No guarantee: I've heard you can charge the OnePlus 7 Pro with Dash and older OnePlus Devices with Warp. Of course the charging speed doesn't change.
While I was doing some reverse engineering of the Pie OxygenOS during GravityBox development I came across
some hints leading to believing that older dash chargers should be supported on the newer devices having warp charge.
In particular:
Code:
.method public onFastChargeChanged(I)V
.locals 9
.param p1, "fastChargeType" # I
fastChargeType is later tested for 3 values.
0 - no fast charging
1 - fast charging (which I believe is when old dash charger is used)
2 - warp fast charging
Of course, it is still possible such logic is there to cover different types of devices with different charging designs
but in that case, as a developer, I would rather use different approach - device specific config overlay (framework config) instead of
testing for all possible charging types.
I can confirm: I just plugged my T-Mobile OP7 into my dash charger from my old OP6T and it displayed "Charging rapidly" on the lockscreen.
Old OnePlus Dash / Fast charge cables charge the 7 Pro at full Warp 30 speed

I used my Dash Charge car charger and it charged up my OPO7 Pro extremely fast.
