Hey, not exactly sure about posting in the right sub forum but i have a little issue
i am currently using a CDMA Hero for Sprint and everything has been going well after fixing the battery issue with a different messaging app, but now a new little annoying issue has arised.
lately when i have opened my menu bar for all my apps i have been getting multiple icons for the same apps
Examples such as Bonsai Blast and Teeter have 2 icons right next to each other that are the same. They both work but its kinda annoying
also some of the applications names are incorrect. instead of ChompSMS its titles is now com.p1.chompsms along with Google Voice being voicemail.xxx... etc
i have tried searching the forums quite a bit and haven't quite found an answer for this issue and am not sure if it applies to the GSM version (thinking it might be a bug for Sense UI)
anyone have the same issue?
i have tried reinstalling the applications and rebooting and it still keeps happening. (not really wanting to hard reset...)
Any help would be very much appreciated!
Thanks!
you are not alone, yeah for i have two print voicemail apps one with a long com..... something same with google sky and google voice app its odd but hey hopefully we will get eclair soon
I don't think it is the Sense UI. I think it is Android. They show the long namsspace name for the application...and some apps show other weird names as well. It happens when you reboot the phone, at least for me. I think it has to do with the way the apps register themselves when the phone boots. Or it may be sloppy programming in the manifest files. Not sure.
Having the same issues. Google Sky will actually show up as the first application, and titled something with about an End User Agreement. When launched it pops up the EUA and only option is a force close.
Not sure what is causing it either.

I had that happen also. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it fixed itself.

I bet if you reboot your phone the issue will return though...try it!!!
If that IS the case, see my post in this CDMA forum about app versions reverting. what has happened is that your app, in this case google sky, has reverted to an initial version, without telling you.

Just tested this and you are correct! Google Sky maps and Google Voice are the ones that do this for me.

I've confirmed that this app version reverting issue happens with at least 16 apps, not just the two Google apps you mention. I have a support question open with Google, so hopefully they can figure it out soon. It makes people think something else is wrong entirely.

I really think this now too,
so far i reinstalled Flixster Movies and Handcent SMS and when my phone reboots i get some different weird icon for both that are not the original ones.
also with the reboot, one of my original problems happens with the names of ChompSMS and Google Voice with their com.xxx.etc names
it has to be something changed on a reboot.
Google Dev group is on it. No fix yet though unfortunately:

Mercado, would you mind also informing them that a reboot also is causing apps to revert to their older versions? I think the problems are related. Thanks!

Oops! Sorry for making it sound like I am in on the android developer work. It is way over my head. Just thought I'd share a link I'd stumbled across. If it's kosher, perhaps you might want to share the url to your version reverting bug with that group. Not sure how that works.
In any case, it does seem like this is all related (missing icons, duplicate icons, renamed shortcuts, version issues, etc.). Unfortunately, it so far HTC has not acknowledged their role in the matter. Hopefully as the bug reports add up, they'll do something about it. Or, maybe they'll simply release Android 2.0 with Sense built in.

Ah, no worries. I have no shame, I'll put it in there whether it's kosher or not
After all, without visibility, a problem will never get solved.
after I reporting the bug in Market I got emailed from market customer..they say there is a new update for xoom, here is what they said to me :
Hi,
Good news!! Our engineering team has pushed out an update forall Xoom devices that should fix the language setting issue in Android Market that you wrote in about. Please go ahead and click on any message that indicates an update to your Android version, and after updating, please check your device and let me know if you are still experiencing issues.
Thanks again for your patience while we investigated and created a solution forthis issue. If you have any further questions/comments or suggestions, I would love to hear them. We highlyvalue feedback from our customers regarding the Android Market experience.

the bug I report is my market change its language to current country I live, and there is no way to change it back to english language.. I can't buy app from market too..
The marketplace updates just happen. But I couldn't tell you if I recieved one or not. Not sure which version I have at the moment. What version are you on?
i see, thanks for replying..
I didn't notice the update too, but now market show the right language..
Mine is v. 1.0.17.
That seems like such an insignificant update. There's MANY more complaints about not being able to rate and comment. They should get that fixed.
mine 1.0.17 too.. hmm..nice..
Ok. Whatever they did broke the market for me. I get a force close for My Apps every time I try to download and install an app.

It doesn't work on the Samsung S6 Edge. Tinder gets stuck on the finding people near you page. It works with Bumble, though!

It should be good, you can double check it is working correctly by going to Google Maps for example, Tinder sometimes has problems finding people in some places (maybe server related) or you may have changed your location too often, so give Tinder some time and it should work (if there are actually any people in that place).
Thanks!
Hi, the app looks really good but I tried it with Tinder and didn't work, even downgrading to many previous versions

Hey, really trying to reproduce this but it works fine for me on old or the newest Tinder version on Android 4.4.4
Which Android version are you using?
Maybe give Tinder some time to get your new location? If you check Google Maps and see your location has changed then the app works correctly and Tinder may just be slow sometimes.
Thanks!

Hi, so I actually gave to Tinder some time and it worked with the 4.4.4 version, update released on December 2015 (pretty old) and it worked.
You say that even more recent versions work for you? I really tried them all, sometimes they worded but too many no, till going back to this 4.4.4.

So I played around with the newest Tinder version and it did seem to be stuck on finding people and it didn't update to my new location, but then I tried to log out and log back in and it worked then. Not quite sure what happens, maybe it just needs more time, either way - logging out and logging back in seems to be the quickest way to make it update your location and show you people.

Actuallly that's the only thing I didn't try :good:
Just confused about one thing, everytime I was trying an older version, I was obviously doing an unistall and a clean install, that means a log off and log on... isn't the same?
I'll try that too anyways, if it won't be handy enough I'll keep this superold but still perfectly working version

That's right, but it seems the older versions work without the log out and log in thing right away.
Devices?

Change your GPS location using this simple app. Free, no ads.
Will also keep working if you reboot your phone. To turn it off just click on the Stop button.
This tool is useful for apps like Tinder where you can change your location and explore new places.
You will need to enable mock locations on your phone from Developer options for the app to work. To enable Developer options go to Settings - About and tap Build number 7 times.
Works in Android 6 as well.

Can anyone provide a method that still works for the most recent Tinder versions? I'm using an old version with the Fake GPS app from Lexa, because the newer version somehow figure out where I actually am, desire using the same process.

Hey everyone,
I know this is probably a long shot but I'm not sure where else to go for advice.
I have the KB2007, up to date. I do gig work and doordash is one of my major sources of income. The Dasher app does not work on this phone. When I try to login, it just redirects me back to the login page without any error message.
Last week, I uninstalled the latest version of the app and grabbed an old apk. This actually ended up working and I was even able to update the app to the latest version and continue as usual. But last Sunday it suddenly stopped working. And the trick of using an old apk no longer works.
I've contacted doordash technical support but they basically didn't help and closed the case. I will keep pestering them since it seems like a bug on development side but I was wondering if anyone here has any idea what's going on and any suggestions for me to fix it.
All the usual stuff like clear cache and data doesn't work.
Thank you.

Seems like an incompability of OOS and this app.
There are plenty of versions there. I hope, you'll find one that works.
Hey guys. About a week ago camera app started crashing when trying to switch to the rear camera.
I tried everything I (and Google support) could imagine - reinstalling the app, force-stopping it, clearing the cash, even factory reset of my phone - the problem is still there.
I have a non-rooted phone with all the latest updates both for the app and the system. Any suggestions?
Sounds like some type of hardware issue as if the "electronic signal" from the app itself is unable to either reach or make a stable connection to the hardware. Have you tried any 3rd party camera apps? If a 3rd party app, camera or otherwise, is able to swap between the front and rear camera's without any problem then it could be software. But if not, then it it's probably hardware. YMMV

3rd party apps are also either not working at all or only a selfie camera...
still hope it's a software issue as i'm in a region which is not supported by google...
is it possible to check if it's hw or sw issue via bug report?

Not sure about how to proceed with any bug report....but a bug is usually software, not hardware. If this is hardware and I believe that it is then some type of warranty, or out of pocket repair will be needed. Maybe someone else will chime in with a better solution.

There are High possibilities that It might be a Hardware Issue, But you Can check it By Going To this Link and Do steps Shown on The Site! I Hope This helps, You can Ask me Anytime If the Issue persists, Thanks!
Get a logcat of it happening and upload it to Google Drive or Dropbox or something like that and post a link here. I (if I have the time to after work)or someone else here can take a look at it to see what's going on. You could try looking at it yourself as well. Make sure to clear the logs before replicating the issue.

here is a bug report - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FeSTbCmyWtsg3EnblJpbM-NfJBrgfXDv/view?usp=sharing
also yesterday I talked again in chat with Google Pixel Hardware support team - they said that they have an open case of software issue about latest camera app version crashing on Android 13 and hopefully it will be solved in February release, but no specific details regarding my specific case
