Switching from EEA rom(Europe) to global rom (camera glitch solution?) - Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC Questions & Answers

My camera glitches when recording, or when using any app that uses camera.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hIzof5EkMg
Can I switch rom from MIUI global 12.0.3 (QJGEUXM) to QJGMIXM? Apparently the camera doesn't glitches on that rom
If so can anyone please guide me on the steps I should take?

Yes, you can. Download fastboot ROM for Global QJGMIXM and flash it using MiFlash tool (unlocked bootloader need it).

Thanks man
I hope this will fix my camera issue. If I change the rom will I have problems with the warranty in case I want it sent back to the seller?I imagine that switching back to the original is doable?

I don't think will affect warranty....and yeah, you can switch between different region ROMs, no problem.

Just dont forget you cant lock bootloader on a different rom because you Will brick the phone

And also backup your persist.img. Fastbooting around version is not recommended as it doesn't flash persist.img which is different between China/global/eu roms.

Apparently I need to root the phone in order to get the persist.img
And this is the method I found:
From computer:
adb shell dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/persist of=/tmp/persist.img
adb pull /tmp/persist.img persist.img

Any of you unlocked their phone fast without having to wait 168 hours? XiaoMiTool V2 seems to unlock it fast but should I trust in Pajeet?

Camera still glitches even on QJGMIXM

I think you camera module problem. Not from software.

Have you tried to flash the very original stock KitKat roms?
The one that requires you to "flash-all" via cmd and locks the bootloader and all..

[GUIDE] How to Flash the Pixel Experience ROM on Nokia 7 Plus & Nokia 7

Hey guys i know the Pixel Experience rom has been released for a long time, more information about this Pixel Experience rom https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble/trebleenabled-device-development/8-1-0-pixel-experience-t3796011

It might take me a couple of days as I am quite busy at the moment.
Thank you for your development for the Nokia 7 plus. Really appreciated.
Well, I installed the system image, but now my SIM is not recognized.
I will go through setup and see if the SIM works afterwards?
EDIT: No IMEI on SIM slot 1, there is an IMEI on slot 2 but this slot also does not work.
And of course, I did not do a backup of my working system. (You'd think I would have learned by now, but NO )

I got my entire system back up and running using the July patched boot image flashed into boot a and b and then sideloaded rollback zip etc, etc....
In general I have found that when I get my self into these situations, if I actually have a back up it ends up failing anyway.
It's always more fun walking the tightrope.
Anyway, both SIM slots are fine on stock ROM rooted with magisk, xposed etc.
I won't be flashing any treble images until I hear more success stories in that respect, I feel that our twrp still has some kinks that need to be ironed out.

Couple of questions about unlocking bootloader/Flashing roms

Hi Sorry for the noobie questions, but I'm about to get my mi mix 3 and this is the first time doing a lot of this stuff so I had a couple of questions. I read a few things on the forum and I see different answers to things so I'm hoping to get some things straightened out, if you could even link an article/post for me to read that'd great too.
So I read that unlocking the bootloader erases all data, which is fine cause I plan to do this first. After unlocking the bootloader and when the Global rom become available, will flashing the rom erase all the data as well?
Is there any risks to having the bootloader unlocked? If so could I lock the bootloader up once I've flashed it with the Global rom?
Thanks!

If you are on Chinese Rom and want to flash global Rom it will wipe the data.
If your phone comes with Chinese Rom you can't lock bootloader on global Rom
Never had any issues before as long as the Rom has safety net passing. If it doesn't pass you can't use banking apps.
If you lose phone and if someone sees phone is unlocked they can wipe it using fastboot etc

Oh okay so flashing a new Rom would also delete everything. I read that Chinese Roms dont have google frame work and thats why we flash the Global rom, but I've seen people say mix 3 has google frame work so is there really a need to flash to a Global rom when its available?

You can get by on the Chinese Rom with no problems.
Only downside for me is some apps have Chinese writing in them but so far that's limited to apps like music/themes/browser/Mi AI, basically anything that requires an Internet connection
The app "Google installer v3" will install Google framework and apps for you. Just remember to go into the app permissions for the contacts app and make sure they are all given otherwise it won't sync.

That's my point, it's not a variant, it's a different chipset, which means different drivers, essentially a completely different device in terms of software support.

And the mix 3 standard edition will still be sold, and will still he supported.
What's the point in buying any phone when you know 6 months down the line it's going to be replaced.
EU rom is now out so weekly updates

Help! Oneplus Newbie!

While i am no beginner when it comes to modding phones, having done so with Samsungs Sonys and my last HTC 10. But this is my first Oneplus and my first time dipping toes in the world of A/B partitions as well. My device is a 1910 GM21AA. While i have gone through the guides regarding bootloader unlocks and magisk rooting, I have failed to grasp some more basic aspects. For one thing, i seem to have the Chinese variant but mine isnt Hydrogen OS, i am currently sitting on 9.5.3 OOS. I was wondering how i could perhaps shift to the Global firmware. Am i to take the latest 9.5.11 OTA from https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...7-pro-global-repo-oxygen-os-t3930585#poststop and simply put it in the download folder and do a local update from the system update on the phone? Thanks in advance
Use the oygen os updater from the play store download full rom which is around 2gb and do local upgrade.
FYI GM21AA is Indian Version

the packages shown in the app seem to be the same zips in the thread i linked...so all i do is take the GM21AA from the thread and just do a local update? I read that 1910 is the Chinese variant for my device but it has this GM21AA build which just made things so confusing. Thank you.
I would now like to know of things i can do to bring my OP7Pro to life in case something ever goes wrong with Local storage updates or just Fcked up in general

I could be wrong, but I think that's the norm with everyone since updating. Thinkni read it in one of the XDA forums around here somewhere.
How do i roll back to full stock if i am on custom rom? This is unfortunately also my first time dealing with A/B partitions.
Aside from these, i have been going around the forums and had a few more questions that i hope someone could help me with....
1. Whenever i come across a rom not based on OOS, i keep coming across never wiping system or vendor, why is that?
2. I come across flashing OOS a lot, how do i flash OOS when i am in a custom rom not based on OOS?

look in the volte thread
there is an apk to installnand enables it again with limited functionality
or use MSM tool to go back to 953 and tibu backup and restore on 9511
oneplus removed it for some reason...
maybe because they found out we're forcing VOLTE?

Do i use MSM tool or fastboot method whenever i need to get back to complete stock without any root or twrp? If so then i think MSM tool or fastboot roms would be a great way to go. 1 question, does using msm or fastboot return the phone to stock while keeping the bootloader unlocked? Also, is it ok to downgrade to a lower version of OOS with MSM or fastboot roms? i think 9.5.11 for me introduced some random background battery drain and this weird mobile data bug where switching to it doesnt enable the connection until much much later
I personally use fastboot. All you need to do is plug the phone in>Boot to fastboot (hold vol up and down and power all at once)>On the computer launch flashall.bat (dont run it as administrator, just launch it).

Do you use it to downgrade or whenever you need to go back to full stock after modding? does it keep the bootloader unlocked or does it relock it? Thanks. Sorry for the noob questions. This is my first Oneplus. I have kept my device stock until i get a good idea of how to deal with things going south.

me did you solve it ?
I think my issue with autofocus/ToF problem was from flashing persist.img with twrp and now i think i need to flash the persist with EDL.
Flashing several versions of roms with fastboot does nothing to get ToF corrected.
Can someone send me a working persist.img or will the persist.img found on stock roms work?
