Poco X3 Lags on the Minus one Google screen - Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC Questions & Answers

I've moved from a Poco F1 to Poco X3 and was very happy to see the Minus one screen having google discover cards which I quite missed on the Poco F1. However, there seems to be a lag whenever I scroll on that screen. Sometimes, it wont scroll enough. Surprisingly, the discover screen works smooth when I open it as a separate application(through the G button).

Not sure what "minus one" (swipe to the left from your home screen maybe?) is but if you want Google Now accessible from the home screen you can either put a shortcut there (tap instead of swiping is the only difference) or try Nova Launcher along with the Google Companion add on. I personally do the latter and it's flawless. No lag or anything even though the Google Companion is kinda dated.

You are right the Minus one is the swipe to the left from home screen. I dont need a Nova Launcher cause the POco X3 provide it as a default option. The Lag is on this one, but not on the one if I open it separately.

[Q] Silly question: Current Apps

I've googled it and got nothing.
Search this forum and not found it either
On Windows 8, if I scroll my mouse to the left/ left corner of the screen, I can see my current apps.
I can then close them.
With my keyboard connected I can do this on my surface using trackpad.
How do I do it without my keyboard connected?
I don't want to swipe them in, I want to see the icons of the apps I have running so I can close them.

you have to swipe in from the left a short distance. I don't own a windows touch device but did get a go on a display model, was kinda fiddly to get the distance just right, was probably about half the distance you need to swipe to switch apps. With some practise you should be able to nail it.

There's two behaviours for a short swipe in from the left. I believe the default one is to "swipe in" the last used app. Whereas what you want is to see a list of currently running apps (me too).
Go Settings>Change PC Settings and you're looking for a setting something like "App Switching">"When I swipe in from the left edge, switch between my recent apps instead of showing a list of them". In 8.1 that setting is under PC & devices, I can't recall if it's the same in 8.
The default way to do what you're asking is to swipe in from the left edge, then swipe back to the edge without releasing the swipe. It's a very quick and easy gesture easily made with the thumb; you don't have to swipe in more than maybe 1/4 of an inch (6mm) before swiping off the screen again to get he app switcher sidebar to appear.
To close the apps using touch only, you can do the following:
Drag the app from the sidebar off the bottom of the screen.
thanks, that's great.

KitKat: Is it possible to designate which home screen is my MAIN home screen?

So, I like the fact that KitKat now allows you to create any number of home screens. However, I'm used to the center one being my main home screen (the one that I end up on if I keep tapping the home button). Now, with KitKat, the left-most screen is the main screen. This makes it difficult to properly center wallpapers, and it also means that I can't have a setup where I swipe left to get to certain app shorcuts and widgets and right to get to others, as swiping left from the main home screen always goes to Google Now.
Is there any way in KitKat to designate a different screen as my main home screen? I'm pretty sure I've seen this option before (though it may have been in a custom ROM or custom launcher). I know I could just install Nova or some other custom launcher (and I probably will eventually), but I'd like to stick with a mostly stock 4.4 setup for now.
Unfortunately, the stock launcher does not allow you to set a default home screen. Pretty disappointing. Gonna have to use a custom launcher for now.

Can I create new home screen panel to the left of the “main” panel in Android 10?

I have Pixel 3a running Android 10.
I can create new home screen panel by moving application shortcuts to the right of rightmost existing panel. However, I can't move them to the left of the "main" panel (when I say "main" I mean the one to which you navigate by pressing "Home" button).
Is it possible to do in Android 10? The panel to the left of the main one used to have Google News, I turned it off but can't place anything else there.
I am coming from old phone running Android 4.2 and there it was possible. "Main" panel was in the middle and I could create new panels on either side.
yes. you just need to create 3 screens and have your main home screen be the middle screen. then from the middle screen you can move left or right. not sure if thats what you want though cause you are correct that they only get created to the right.

I don't think this is what I want because if I click "Home" button I am always brought to the leftmost panel. I updated my OP to be clearer on what I mean.
ok. but when i create the 3 screens and press home it navigates to the middle screen. so i do have a screen to the left and right of the home. thing is i'm using the nova launcher so that's probably it. i guess you're using pixel launcher? might want to search for pixel launcher apps that change the function.

Yes, I am using Pixel launcher.
Apparently the Dec Android update brings gestures to third party launchers which is been a missing element up until now. Once you take the update, you may want to try out Nova Launcher or another third party launcher to achieve what you are looking for. I know I had to stop using Nova on Android 10 because I wanted to use gesture navigation. Now that Google is allowing gesture navigation on third party launchers, I'm sure I'll go back to Nova. I really miss the app draw folders!
But you can definitely add as many screen as you want and even reset the "home" screen easily using Nova. So if you want one screen to the left, then home screen, then a screen to the right - that will be no problem using Nova. In fact you can turn on the infinite swipe feature where the home screens won't ever hit a hard "end" but keep flowing when swiped. So if you have three home screens and swipe right from the third screen you will flow from 3 -> 2 -> 1 ->3 ->2 ->1 etc etc etc. But anytime you press the home button, you can set it to be taken to the middle screen.

Question Poco x3 pro woes (nav buttons hide under game mode)

Guys I'm new and hope this question has an answer. Apologies in advance if it's incorrectly placed or repeated.
So i have a poco x3 pro and I want to make the navigation buttons stay there forever.
Generally they are good but some apps and games take precedence and I have to constantly slide up from the bottom to make them appear.
I I've been into settings but the main issue is I play last shelter, the game is locked to full screen.
I don't use gestures or full screen mode and the buttons are great normally but I want to basically recreate a similar feature to hide notch but at the bottom, so only the nav buttons are there, maybe with the exception of using camera or films etc.
Therefore I suspect that the screen may need to be set to smaller so that there's nothing hiding under the navigation space. I don't care for the one handed screen resize feature either.
The game being full screen has tabs at the bottom so the navigation buttons do need to disappear in order to use the game.
So in a nutshell I want to permanently have the navigation buttons at the bottom and above them is the bottom of the screen even though the actual screen is the full size of the phone.
I actually can't believe this isn't something we can choose.
I came from the s5 and the op5 and I'm old fashioned and like the home, menu and back keys. I can live with the finger reader on the power button but my one handed use of the phone has be taken away from me.
Sorry for the long post but I'm coming up short so don't know where else to go.
Also the nav buttons go light or dim at random times.
Regards, Paul
Ps. I've done plenty of rooting over the years but always find that the time used and problems afterwards aren't worth it.
I will consider going this way with my poco if it will remove bloatware and clean it up. I only want battery life and relative performance, its a 249gbp phone I understand that and its fine as it is but I want the nav keys to act like they are hardware that's it.
Ideally no root and an app would be cool.
I did install a nav key app but it just masks what's there.
Mi forum said poco x3 pro isn't their product and couldn't help. Poco global seems like a link to Facebook.
Thanks all.

Same setup, same problem. Didn't noticed till now
Just I used to swype back above keyboard
I'm using Gboard and it does the same thing. I've never tried swiping over the keyboard until now. I don't think it's a bug. I think that's how is meant to be. Otherwise you might be closing your keyboard when your swiping a text message.
SwiftKey user w/o NovaLauncher l - no issues whatsoever
I ve got one plus 8 pro as my previous device amd there swipe back is working over the keyboard.
Closing keyboard each time i need to go back require one additional move, and swipe back above keyboard is not pretty good solution, since i cant do it by thumb, keeping device in one hand, keyboard is occuping almost half of the screen...
I do have the same problem. (using Nova with Gboard), whenever i swipe from right or left, it types a letter.. So i use keyboard hiding toggle in the Navigation bar area, when the keyboard is active.
